I bought this on a deal of the day sale and have had no issues with it at all. The Insignia brand that Best Buy offers for the most part I have been happy with the products I have purchased except the batteries. But their under 50' inch tvs, hd antennae and power strips have all been worth buying.

This surge protector is easy to fit into a small space and it has enough outlets to serve simple purposes. Since I've had no surges, I can't attest to its actual value as a protector vs an outlet expander.

Usually we are stuck with a 2 prong outlet on something this portable. So when I saw this I had to get it. 12ft very compact with ground provisions. powers all my devices when I am on the go (of course all are ground protected).

I've always wondered if there was any real difference with surge protectors. I'm sure specs vary, but this Insignia has 2 features that I really appreciate. First, its cord is a decent length, but it doesn't kink up like some surge protectors do. Nothing is more annoying than putting one down and having it flip on its side because the cord flips it. This one doesn't do that like some that I have. Second, it has a soft green light. I like the light because it reminds me when it is on without being too bright at night like the red lights are. I plan on gradually replacing my older surge protectors with these ones.

I needed a surge protector and a way of plugging in more than 2 items. This is working great for me. May never need the surge protector aspect but better safe than sorry.
