The Mighty Mid-Size Refrigerator
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Insignia 7.2 Cubic Ft Top-Freezer Refrigerator is the perfect size in between a mini-fridge and a full size refrigerator with the convenience of a standard 115V plug. I have the perfect place upstairs in our family/playroom area. - Unboxing - The refrigerator is ready to go right out of the box. Be careful with the top corners, they can be damaged if not handled correctly. The 115V cord is tucked neatly into the back of the fridge and the glass shelves are protected well inside. - Design/Build - The design is clever. The refrigerator opens from left to right, but if you want to switch it, they give you instructions on how to do so. It has a classic stainless steel look with black on the sides. There are two wheels that help it roll along the floor and you can adjust the balance/height slightly in the front to accommodate your floors. There's one shelf in the freezer and no light. The refrigerator has two internal glass shelves and one fruit and vegetable drawer at the bottom. They feel like good quality and are easy to adjust up and down as needed. There are two small shelves in the door and one larger shelf with more depth. I measured the usable freezer space at about 16" wide x 14.5" deep x 10.5 tall. The usable refrigerator space at 36" tall by about 16.5" in depth by 18" wide. It weighs about 80 pounds and is easy to carry for two people. - Performance - This unit requires manual defrosting, but after several days the freezer looks good with no distinct levels of frost. The refrigerator did have a noticeable layer of frost starting to build up on the back wall. This is more likely to happen when warm air enters the unit, leaving the door open, or if you have something blocking the air outlets. Most importantly, I put a thermometer in the fridge and it consistently stayed at 40 degrees Fahrenheit. You can set the temperature of the refrigerator with a button and 4 LED indicator lights. If you long press the temperature button for 3 seconds it will "Super Cool" the refrigerator and indicate with LEDs 1 and 2 coming on simultaneously. A 6 second long press will super freeze the freezer and indicate by LEDs 3 and 4 coming on simultaneously. This is good if you are preparing to load up the refrigerator or freezer for the first time. The unit is also very quiet. I measured it around 42 decibels. The doors are largely fingerprint resistant. I have two small kids that have tested it thoroughly. - Pros/Cons - -Pros- - Operates on a standard 115V wall plug - Energy Star Certified (Approx $48/yr) - Reversible Door - Glass Shelves - Plenty of Refrigerator Space - LED Lighting -Cons- - Manual Defrosting - No Freezer Light - Needs a couple of adjustable levels in the door This is a great value for a refrigerator/freezer in an extra room. I found it to be perfect for our upstairs Family/Play room. It performs well, operates quietly, and has a ton of space. Even though it's not perfect, I'll give it 5 stars for some exceptional features and consistent performance. I highly recommend it!

MINI FRIDGE, BUT NOT REALLY!!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This refrigerator was an upgrade for me from a 3.3 cubic feet mini fridge that i had in my office. There were a few reasons why i had upgraded from my 3.3 to a 7.2 cubic feet. First of all was the stainless steel look, yes, its not actual stainless steel, but it still looks much better than my plain old white mini fridge. The second, is the amount of space this one had to offer. It features a 1.5 cubic feet freezer compartment and a 5.7 cubic feet refrigerator compartment, honestly this is almost as a big as a normal size refrigerator, offering plenty of room for anything. The refrigerator offers 3 glass shelves, a crisper drawer and full width door bins. This mini fridge is the perfect size for small kitchens and even to serve as a backup refrigerator for excess items. Also, on the inside you have a bright LED light and push button temperature control. Lastly, the reason i decided to go with the insignia brand refrigerator is because based on experience, they are built to last. I have owned multiple insignia appliances and they yet to die out on me and they are priced right. I would definitely recommend anyone looking for a mini fridge thats not actually mini.

Great as an Over-flow Fridge
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was in the market for a larger "over-flow" fridge for the basement and the Insignia 7.2 Cu. Ft. Mini fridge with top freezer checked all the boxes. We had another mini fridge but it was slightly smaller and didn't have a separate freezer, which meant every year I would have to unplug it and melt all of the ice off the coils on the inside - this was a massive pain. This insignia has the freezer and fridge separate so there's zero maintenance. PROs: 1) Weight - This fridge is much lighter than I expected. I would still recommend two people to move this, but my wife and I were able to get it into our basement with no issues. 2) Features - While this isn't the most feature rich mini fridge, it does have sturdy glass shelves and a crisper drawer at the bottom. The fridge does have a bright LED light but the top freezer does not. 3) Separate Freezer - This feature is ideal for those who want a larger mini fridge without having to maintain an ice mass every year. The back wall of the fridge does collect condensation but there is a drain in the bottom that allows excess water to collect and evaporate under the fridge. CONs: 1) Packaging - The outer packaging is not very robust. My fridge arrive damaged but it did not bother us because we were putting it in the back room of our basement. If you plan to keep this fridge in an area where appearance matters, I would recommend picking it up from the store. 2) Too Cold - Because the coils run up the back of the fridge, Items that are close to the back have a tendency to freeze. This is not really an issue for us but I can see where people might get upset having to keep things 2-3 inches from the back - this can render a good amount of space useless. Aside from shipping damage and frozen beers at the back of the fridge, this Insignia mini fridge with top freezer worked out perfectly for our family. We are a family of 5 and our counter depth fridge in the kitchen sometimes isn't enough - if this sounds like you, this mini fridge is the perfect over-flow solution.

Quiet, Small Footprint and Plenty of Storage.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the last week, I've been testing out the Insignia 7.2 Cu. Ft. Mini Fridge with Top Freezer. Overall, I like it. It's a great mini fridge with lots of capacity and a small footprint. Setup was easy. Moving the fridge from my garage to my basement was a two-person job but not a heavy lift. The dimensions are perfect for fitting through just about any doorway or staircase. From there, I plugged it into the wall to turn it on. The refrigerator features 4 cooling levels. In my use, the third setting was enough to quietly and quickly cool the refrigerator to the perfect temperature. There are two glass shelves that can be repositioned based on my needs; however, it could fit a third shelf. Each shelf can easily fit 28 cans, and the top shelf easily fits 28 12-ounce bottles. There's also a good-sized crisper for storing veggies or more drinks, and three shelves on the door for storing butter, eggs, tall bottles, or—in my case—more drinks. The only drawback was that there was condensation building in the back of the refrigerator compartment. It's not a big deal, but just something to mention. I'll end by saying I would probably recommend picking it up at the store or getting professional delivery. The protective packaging didn't do the best job of protecting its cargo. The inside of the fridge was securely protected by some tape and foam. However, the exterior was protected with cardboard and flimsy styrofoam. Mine was shipped via FedEx, and they dented a few of the corners. Luckily, the damage was on the back of the fridge and didn't affect the functionality. With that said, I would recommend this refrigerator for anyone needing a small footprint, plenty of storage, and silent operation.

Perfect Size and Efficient
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been really pleased with this fridge overall. The size is perfect, spacious enough to hold plenty without taking up too much room. It’s also low cost to run, which makes it budget-friendly in the long term. (less than $50/yr) The interior light is bright and useful, and the controls are simple and easy to adjust push button style. The temperatures are perfect right at the default setting, so there’s no need to fuss with adjustments. On the downside, I did notice a small ripple at the bottom of the freezer door (cosmetic issue, but worth mentioning). I also wish it came with one more shelf, since that would make organizing cans and smaller items much easier. The bottom drawer also simply slides on the bottom, so no side rails to ride on. Does the job, just unusual. That said, I’ve always had long-term luck with Insignia products, and this fridge continues that trend. Overall, it’s a solid choice if you’re looking for a reliable, energy-efficient mini fridge with a freezer. A few minor design tweaks would make it perfect, but I’m happy with the purchase.

A Great Compact Refrigerator For Home or Dorm
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Insignia 7.2 Cubic Inch Mini Refrigerator/Freezer is a nicely designed and well built unit. With a stainless steel face and black sides, the Insignia stands 56" tall and weighs almost 80 pounds. It is a very nice compact refrigerator/freezer. Once unboxed and set up using the bottom-front mounted screwable leveling feet, the Insignia Refrigerator started right up and quietly began chilling a bottle of water I placed in the freezer to test it out overnight. In the morning the bottle was completely frozen.. The inside of the refrigerator is covered in white plastic and the refrigerator section is well lighted while the freezer is unlit. The freezer has on metal wire shelf that fits in about halfway from the bottom of the freezer. The refrigerator has three clear plastic door shelves and two adjustable interior shelves. There is also one non-adjustable bottom shelf with clear plastic drawer for vegetables or other items. Also inside the refrigerator section of the Insignia Refrigerator/Freezer is a temperature control switch that allows settings from Cold to Coldest temps. The Insignia also comes with a 4-5' electrical cord with grounded 3-prong plug, has two leveling feet under the front, two roller back feet and runs on 115 60Hz power. The doors open from left to right and can be changed toallow right to left opening using using door adaptor equipment that come with the refrigerator. This is a very nicely designed and well built mini refrigerator/freezerthat is good for use in small spaces such as a bedroom, college dorm room, or as in my case, next to a home bar for storing sodas, mixes, beer, and accoutramants like cherries, orange peels, olives, juices, etc. It fits my space perfectly and looks great! I like this Insignia Mini Refrigerator/Freezer a lot and look forward to many years of use.

Very nice mini fridge!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although this mini fridge is not designed to be used in a garage, that is where I have mine located. It is specified to operate in temperatures above 50 degrees Fahrenheit and below 105 degrees, which is within the temperature range encountered in my garage which is heated to 50 degrees in winter and cooled to 75 degrees in summer. So far it has worked great with the indoor ambient temperature right at 50 degrees. This is a great looking refrigerator. The stainless steel finish looks expensive and the sides and top are a shiny crinkle-finish black that complements the stainless nicely. The interior of the freezer has a removable shelf but no light. The interior of the refrigerator has several glass shelves that have a few adjustable mounting heights. The door has non-adjustable pocket shelves that are big enough for a 2 liter bottle but not a gallon jug. There is an LED light in the fridge section that is nice and bright. The temperature control is monitored using a series of LED indicators that range from cold to colder but have no temperature number assigned to them. So you will need a separate thermometer if you want to verify the temperature. Overall this mini fridge works and looks great. It seems like it doesn't run very often and it maintains the temperature consistently. If this is the size of fridge you need, it is a good choice.

Perfect "compact" fridge for much more then drinks
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This fridge couldn't have come at a better time. Due to unforseen circumstances I had to move out of my apartment and into a place that doesn't have a fridge. So this thing is really coming in handy. It's also a lot larger then I expected. It has room for much more then just chilling your drinks. It's basically a full fridge but a bit smaller. The freezer works excellent as well. Everything stays frozen and has room for TV dinners and a lot more. The main compartment has lots of shelves for all your main stuff, and there's a crisper as well for your fruits and vegetables. It's very well made. The stainless looks great and should easily fit into to any decor. I'm so glad I got this. It's perfect for a small dorm, garage, or even as a main fridge in a place like the way I'm using it. It holds a lot more then it looks like it will. You get a whole lot of fridge for a very low price. Couldn't be happier with it. If you need a multi purpose fridge that's a bit smaller then standard this will be perfect. Highly recommended!

Good fridge!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Insignia 7.2 cubic foot mini fridge is a great size for an office, bed room or even the garage. There is plenty of room in this fridge plus the separate freezer is really nice. Previously in my office, I had one of those smaller mini fridges. It was good enough for about 18 cans and that’s about it. The 7.2 Insignia can hold lots of cans, bottles and much more. We have been using to hold an extra gallon of milk and all the canned beverages we have in the house. Instead of letting them sit in the pantry now we have the room to put them in the fridge so they are cold and ready! Setting up the fridge was easy. There are four cold settings and it is set to 3 from the factory. If the fridge was transported on its side you’ll want to let it stand upright overnight so the oil gets to where it needs to be before plugging it in. Haven’t had any issues so far other than some condensation build up on the back of the fridge. I’ve come to learn this is normal and there is a condensate drain at the bottom. Apparently, it drains to a pan and the heat from the compressor evaporates the moisture. It’s a solid fridge and the perfect size for our needs. We also own an insignia freezer and it has been great. Definitely recommend.

Works well, good fridge
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this as an upgrade for a smaller 3.3 cubic foot fridge I was using in my basement for drinks. I am a fan of insignia brand because I've had good luck with them, and with it being Best Buy's in house brand, generally I feel they would want it to be good. I found this similar to other units this size, and price wise is very similar. This (and it's similar units) I do find a bit disappointing that they don't have 1 more shelf in them. I usually have more cans than bottles in my fridge, and one more shelf would vastly improve storage for my cans, and give me the option to leave out the one if I need the height. This allows me 2 shelves of height, and one shorter shelf. A small negative for my drink fridge purposes. However, if this were being used for hotel/cabin/guest house fridge in a mini kitchen, this would do well for that to hold standard full kitchen fridge items. The gained depth is what I like on this also, 2 rows deeper and not touching the wall. The thermostat control in this has only 5 settings. I do think it would have been a bit nicer for the old standard dial. The led lighting in here is really pretty good. I like having a freeze big enough to do ice trays, but like I said in a cabin or kitchenette this can hold a standard frozen pizza in the box.. This has the rack in the freeze that us removable, but I do ice on top and rest below. But I can store a good size turkey in here for Thanksgiving no issues. The fridge cooled down quickly after plugging in. I give this 4 of five stars, because it meets most of my needs, but I wish it had a dial thermostat control, and had the option for one more shelf. I do reccomend this.
