The Insignia™ All-in-One Travel Adapter and Converter with 2 USB Ports is a significant upgrade for any modern traveler. The integrated USB ports are an absolute game-changer, eliminating the need for extra wall chargers for my phone and tablet – a true space-saver! This all-in-one design means fewer separate pieces to keep track of, which is a blessing in the chaos of packing and unpacking. The build quality feels robust, and the adapter has successfully handled various voltage differences across continents, keeping all my devices safely charged. It's truly convenient to have the converter and multiple adapter types neatly combined into one unit.
While the "all-in-one" concept is brilliant and highly practical, the process of switching between the different integrated adapter types could still be refined. The slider mechanism, while functional, occasionally feels a bit stiff or requires a bit more force than anticipated to fully engage the desired prongs. This can be a minor inconvenience, especially when you're in a hurry. A smoother, more fluid, and perhaps more clearly indicated switching mechanism would enhance the user experience and make this incredibly useful device even more seamless to operate.

Converter very warm with use

I’m using it in Europe now. The device is very warm after using it all night. I don’t know if the very warm converter is a defect. I only rated it 3 stars due to the warmth after use. It cools very quickly after it is unplugged. I’m concerned about a potential fire due to the warmth factor.

The adapter fits, but gets REALLY HOT! I would look for an alternative if you need to plug your device for longer than a couple of hours.

International voltage converter and adapter in one

Very easy to use. Has both converter (voltage - for items like blow driers and curling irons that require a particular voltage) and adapter functions. I like the fact it is a single cube and you don’t lose separate small adapters. One disadvantage is it is a large size so may be tough to fit in small spaces

I recently took a trip to the UK and this came in very handy. Be mindful of the switch that changes from “adapter” to “converter”. As a result, I think it may have damaged a USB-C adapter I had for my iPad.

The USB port is convenient and the converter mode worked well. However, the adapter mode did not work with my laptop when I brought and used this during my trip to the UK. My laptop's power status kept flashing back and forth between battery mode and charging mode.

Worked for most things abroad

It worked very well for the most part in Ireland, France and Italy. The USB’s worked consistently and it worked well with a clothes steamer the whole time. It was spotty with my girlfriend’s straightener and we kept having to switch between 120/240 vac to get it to work. This was probably more of a problem with the straightener though. It did not work with my Nintendo DS charger but again I think that’s on the charger side. I would recommend a DS usb charger if taking one abroad.

Extremely Disappointed with Insignia All-in-One

I recently purchased the Insignia All-in-One Converter from the best buy store with high hopes of using it to power my Ninja food processor in another country. However, my experience with this product has been nothing short of a complete disaster. Not only did it fail to work as promised, but it also ended up damaging my expensive food processor, which I had purchased for $220.
Upon entering the store, I sought assistance from a staff member to ensure that the converter would be compatible with my Ninja food processor. The person working there confidently assured me that this product would work seamlessly. Trusting their expertise, I made the purchase and eagerly packed it with my food processor for my trip abroad.
However, as soon as I plugged in the Insignia All-in-One Converter, it became apparent that it was not functioning correctly. It failed to convert the voltage properly, resulting in a surge of power that instantly fried my beloved food processor. The disappointment and frustration I felt at that moment cannot be overstated.
Not only did this converter fail to fulfill its intended purpose, but it also caused me financial loss by damaging my expensive kitchen appliance. It is infuriating to think that I trusted the store representative's assurance, only to be let down so profoundly. Not only did I waste money on a faulty product, but I also lost a cherished kitchen tool.
The build quality of the Insignia All-in-One Converter is also questionable. The device itself appeared flimsy and poorly constructed, lacking the durability required for travel purposes. Furthermore, it provided no protection against voltage surges or fluctuations, ultimately leading to the demise of my food processor.
Considering the significant financial loss and inconvenience I experienced due to the Insignia All-in-One Converter, I cannot stress enough how dissatisfied and disappointed I am with this product. It not only failed to work as advertised but also caused damage to my valuable kitchen appliance. I strongly advise against purchasing this converter if you value your electronic devices and want to avoid unnecessary expenses.
I regret my decision to rely on the advice of the store staff and the poor quality of the Insignia All-in-One Converter. I will be seeking a refund for this defective product and will explore other options from more reputable brands in the future.

Salesperson at BestBuy was just plain wrong when they told me to get this to use when I travelled to UK for charging my macbook pro. She seemed so certain that I trusted her but now see other reviews I should have read that say it doesn't work. It can actually damage the charge port. I'm hoping mine is ok, since I tried it before realizing it was not working once I got to the UK. I had to go find an apple store to get their travel adapter kit.
The usb ports seem to work ok for the iphone but it's too big to have just for that.

We're really sorry to hear about your experience. It must have been frustrating to find out that the adapter wasn't suitable for your MacBook Pro after trusting the salesperson's advice. It's good to know that the USB ports worked for your iPhone, but we understand that carrying a bulky adapter just for that isn't ideal. We hope your MacBook Pro's charge port is okay after the incident. If you need any further assistance or advice on travel adapters, feel free to ask!

I bought this because I was going to Rome, Italy. For the first 4 days it worked fine to charge my laptop and IPhone. On the 5th day It wouldn’t charge my Apple laptop anymore, only my phone. It was a major inconvenience as I was traveling alone staying at an Air bnb, the owner was out of the country so couldn’t help and there nowhere where I could charge laptop for remainder of my trip. I returned it and got a full refund.

It is an all-in-one unit. It is a bit bulky and is too big for sockets that are in tight spaces. Other than that, it does a good job. Liked adapter and/or converter option.

This item is OK. It is pretty bulky and gets really hot when you need it to convert. It also cannot charge something plugged in the outlet and USB connected at the same time.I returned the item because the heat did not sit well with me. I think I might look for other options.

I took this item to Europe. It got very hot charging just a phone. I would be very careful to charge higher voltage items while they are not being supervised. It was very expensive, so make sure you don't just need an adapter. Most computers are duel voltage and don't need an adapter and so are most cellphones made in the last 2 years. Our cell phones were not dual voltage and we didn't want to take a chance on charging it while we traveled.

I used this adapter in both Europe and Asia, and it worked great in both countries. The problem is that it's huge. I had a different adapter that was over 7 years older that worked just as well, but was considerably smaller. The extra size might translate into better heat dissipation, but when you're packing for an international trip, size matters.

The Converter (220 to 110), not so much. It makes laptop transformers click and get hot! Very hot!
