I’m using it in Europe now. The device is very warm after using it all night. I don’t know if the very warm converter is a defect. I only rated it 3 stars due to the warmth after use. It cools very quickly after it is unplugged. I’m concerned about a potential fire due to the warmth factor.

My wife and I were heading to Europe for a cruise, with 2 nights in a Barcelona hotel prior to the cruise, and 2 nights in a Venice hotel after the cruise. Prior to leaving, I went to Best Buy, told the salesperson my plans, knowing I would need a voltage converter in the hotel rooms in order to use my CPAP machine. He told me this product would meet my needs. I purchased this product on his advice, and did not open the box until I got to the hotel in Barcelona. Upon opening the box and reading the instructions, it clearly said “converter mode is designed to be used only for short periods of time (approximately 10 minutes), and also “The converter cannot be used with low-wattage appliances (0-25W)”. My CPAP machine is a low-wattage appliance, and needs to operate for the entire night, not just 10 minutes. This device is ONLY suitable for things like curling irons or hair dryers, NOT CPAP machines, and for about 10 minutes maximum. I ended up spending 2 hours hurrying between stores in Barcelona, like a madman, trying to get a converter that would allow me to use my CPAP machine before the stores closed, and finally, frustrated, exhausted and disappointed, I gave up. The four nights in hotel rooms were miserable for my wife, as I snore horribly without using my CPAP machine. Upon returning to the United States, I went to AAA Travel, and for about $60, purchased a converter that should work for future trips to Europe, but my wife had to put up with lack of sleep for 4 nights because this product would NOT run my CPAP machine. I tried the CPAP machine once for about 2 minutes, and it would NOT work with this device…not even for 2 minutes.

Worked well when I was in Ireland - the only downside is it got REALLY hot and I could only use it keep my laptop running, or charging my cell phone for an hour or so before I needed to unplug it.

Very easy to use. Has both converter (voltage - for items like blow driers and curling irons that require a particular voltage) and adapter functions. I like the fact it is a single cube and you don’t lose separate small adapters. One disadvantage is it is a large size so may be tough to fit in small spaces

The Insignia™ All-in-One Travel Adapter and Converter with 2 USB Ports is a significant upgrade for any modern traveler. The integrated USB ports are an absolute game-changer, eliminating the need for extra wall chargers for my phone and tablet – a true space-saver! This all-in-one design means fewer separate pieces to keep track of, which is a blessing in the chaos of packing and unpacking. The build quality feels robust, and the adapter has successfully handled various voltage differences across continents, keeping all my devices safely charged. It's truly convenient to have the converter and multiple adapter types neatly combined into one unit. While the "all-in-one" concept is brilliant and highly practical, the process of switching between the different integrated adapter types could still be refined. The slider mechanism, while functional, occasionally feels a bit stiff or requires a bit more force than anticipated to fully engage the desired prongs. This can be a minor inconvenience, especially when you're in a hurry. A smoother, more fluid, and perhaps more clearly indicated switching mechanism would enhance the user experience and make this incredibly useful device even more seamless to operate.

Your feedback on the slider mechanism is appreciated—it’s insights like yours that help us continue to improve the design and functionality of our products.

It worked very well for the most part in Ireland, France and Italy. The USB’s worked consistently and it worked well with a clothes steamer the whole time. It was spotty with my girlfriend’s straightener and we kept having to switch between 120/240 vac to get it to work. This was probably more of a problem with the straightener though. It did not work with my Nintendo DS charger but again I think that’s on the charger side. I would recommend a DS usb charger if taking one abroad.

This works great. I was able to use it successfully in Ireland and France. You do need to flip a button to use it for flat iron or hair dryer use. It’s labeled on the cube side in case you forget. Love that it is lightweight and the prongs go back inside.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re glad to hear the product worked well during your travels in Ireland and France. It’s great that the lightweight design and retractable prongs added to the convenience, and the labeled switch for high-powered devices like flat irons and hair dryers is definitely a helpful feature.

I recently took a trip to the UK and this came in very handy. Be mindful of the switch that changes from “adapter” to “converter”. As a result, I think it may have damaged a USB-C adapter I had for my iPad.
I thought this was supposed to work in Spain, but the two prongs didn't fit the Spanish socket. Will return it when back in the U.S.

I recently purchased the Insignia All-in-One Converter from the best buy store with high hopes of using it to power my Ninja food processor in another country. However, my experience with this product has been nothing short of a complete disaster. Not only did it fail to work as promised, but it also ended up damaging my expensive food processor, which I had purchased for $220. Upon entering the store, I sought assistance from a staff member to ensure that the converter would be compatible with my Ninja food processor. The person working there confidently assured me that this product would work seamlessly. Trusting their expertise, I made the purchase and eagerly packed it with my food processor for my trip abroad. However, as soon as I plugged in the Insignia All-in-One Converter, it became apparent that it was not functioning correctly. It failed to convert the voltage properly, resulting in a surge of power that instantly fried my beloved food processor. The disappointment and frustration I felt at that moment cannot be overstated. Not only did this converter fail to fulfill its intended purpose, but it also caused me financial loss by damaging my expensive kitchen appliance. It is infuriating to think that I trusted the store representative's assurance, only to be let down so profoundly. Not only did I waste money on a faulty product, but I also lost a cherished kitchen tool. The build quality of the Insignia All-in-One Converter is also questionable. The device itself appeared flimsy and poorly constructed, lacking the durability required for travel purposes. Furthermore, it provided no protection against voltage surges or fluctuations, ultimately leading to the demise of my food processor. Considering the significant financial loss and inconvenience I experienced due to the Insignia All-in-One Converter, I cannot stress enough how dissatisfied and disappointed I am with this product. It not only failed to work as advertised but also caused damage to my valuable kitchen appliance. I strongly advise against purchasing this converter if you value your electronic devices and want to avoid unnecessary expenses. I regret my decision to rely on the advice of the store staff and the poor quality of the Insignia All-in-One Converter. I will be seeking a refund for this defective product and will explore other options from more reputable brands in the future.

I bought this because I was going to Rome, Italy. For the first 4 days it worked fine to charge my laptop and IPhone. On the 5th day It wouldn’t charge my Apple laptop anymore, only my phone. It was a major inconvenience as I was traveling alone staying at an Air bnb, the owner was out of the country so couldn’t help and there nowhere where I could charge laptop for remainder of my trip. I returned it and got a full refund.

This item is OK. It is pretty bulky and gets really hot when you need it to convert. It also cannot charge something plugged in the outlet and USB connected at the same time.I returned the item because the heat did not sit well with me. I think I might look for other options.

It is an all-in-one unit. It is a bit bulky and is too big for sockets that are in tight spaces. Other than that, it does a good job. Liked adapter and/or converter option.

I have purchased this item before and had a great experience with it so I purchased two more because my kids are traveling with me and they will need to stay connected ad well.

The adapter fits, but gets REALLY HOT! I would look for an alternative if you need to plug your device for longer than a couple of hours.

I took this item to Europe. It got very hot charging just a phone. I would be very careful to charge higher voltage items while they are not being supervised. It was very expensive, so make sure you don't just need an adapter. Most computers are duel voltage and don't need an adapter and so are most cellphones made in the last 2 years. Our cell phones were not dual voltage and we didn't want to take a chance on charging it while we traveled.

The USB and Adapter portions were great. The Converter (220 to 110), not so much. It makes laptop transformers click and get hot! Very hot! Only used with 1 laptop transformer, so your experience may be different.

This adapter gets hot quick. Used it in Spain and read the directions and it stated that i should only have it plugged in for 10min. used it to charge a power bank quickly so that I can charge my phone and GoPro.
