For the price it plays cds and has bluetooth which both worked fine. Tape player is NOT needed imo. But it works foe what she needed and didnt break the bank. Sound quality is good not great.

This fits the bill. I agree that the cassette operational buttons can be a little stiff, but that isn't a problem. As far as sound, it is ok, as boomboxes go. As long as the volume isn't turned up way too high, it is fine. The price point is matched to the quality of the player. It is not a high end player and I didn't expect high end sound, so I am quite satisfied with the purchase.

Wouldn't recognize my CDs.

Did not care much for the buttons...hard to push and in an award position. The cassette player appeared to be a bit fragile because of the plastic things on the inside of the door to hold the tape in the draw. My biggest issue was the CD player would not recognize ANY of my CD's. It would spin, stop and display "NCD" so unfortunately I have to return it and keep looking for a good CD, Cassette player.

Insignia CD/Cassette boombox with bluetooth

The sound is okay. Maybe it would sound better if my cassette wasn’t so old. The only issue I have encountered with this device is that I have not been able to pair the boombox with my devices via bluetooth ( cell phone, iPad Air, iPod). Also You need to use force to deal with the turn on/off button and some others, but that doesn’t bother me. I didn’t buy it for the Bluetooth. I got it to replace a broken boombox, so the bluetooth is no big deal. I did buy a Jam speaker with bluetooth which pairs with no problem.

Here’s info on how to pair properly :
- Cycle source button to Bluetooth(Bt)
- Pair phone to NS-BBBT20 within 20 seconds;
If this doesn’t occur within 20 seconds, cycle the source button to Bluetooth (Bt) again, and attempt to pair.

My search finally ended at Best Buy--was happily surprised by the quality sound and sleek design. Great, affordable price. Well worth the search! Thank you Best Buy!
