I attend a lot of meetings every year. I can only write and take notes so fast. Majority of them are intimate meetings but about 25-30% of them are large 100+ people. I started recording them for review but the audio quality was poor with just the phone's microphone. But after getting this microphone audio quality is way better, nice crisp and clear playback in small and large rooms. I love that it nearly eliminates background noise. Barely any of people near me eating, trying to whisper, or open wrappers. Only downside is I have to take off my phone case in order for it to for in the jack. Now it stays in my bag everywhere.

When I first saw It, could not believe that someone actually made a directional microphone for a smartphone. When I realized it was Insignia brand I was concerned at build quality. Turns out, it's a great little mic and perfect for flogging or even interviews. Great mic, great buy.

I expected the microphone to help me make my beginner videos. The discriptions. Could have been clearer.

I use this mic with an iPhone 6s primarily for filming videos of homes that are narrated - often from a distance. The mic works well from long distances and does a good job reducing ambient noise. It also can be pointed in multiple directions. Only drawback which is likely with any non blue tooth mic is that most phone cases will need to be removed. Thinner bumber style cases can work.

This microphone is decent to pick up a little more sound coming from different directions. It does not really boost the loudness of someone's voice for recording though. I use it to record podcasts and I still find that I have to get very close to the mic to pick up my voice at a decent volume for the recording.

using this on my S7 for an emergency. It picked up sound fairly clearly and is super easy to use, just plug it in and it works. There is not much difference if it is fairly close to the subject but works best at a distance, I used it about 25 feet away.

This mic worked well for me. Make sure the mic is plugged all the way in for the best results. The inclusion of a cord would be helpful.

This microphone will improve audio quality but don't expect major improvements. If you're looking for a decent microphone without spending a lot of money this is perfect for you. I use it with my iPhone 6s Plus to live stream sermons from my church on Facebook.

As a radio talk host I need high quality microphones for broadcast of programs. There cannot be compromise of quality. This microphone fills the bill and I have used it to host programs as long as 4 hours in length and the engineers tell me that the quality is of a broadcast level. There need be nothing else added.

This Mic enhances your phone by being a little louder and helping filter out a little noise. The assembly feels decent but the guts are really delicate and come out easy, meaning the housing can’t protect it much. Still it’s a quick convenient solution for getting audible voice overs on the go.

More volume and much better sound than built in mic. When a recording of music was played back over good speakers it sounded basically as good as original.

Picked this up for recording videos with iPhone. Significant improvement in audio quality over built in, resulting in much more polished videos.

Bought this item to help enhance videos in a small basketball gym. It really made the sound crisp up close, but didn't catch as well from about 20 feet away. Got a good deal on it so we will still use it.

Good microphone for the price. Does pick up noise from everywhere, videos may seem to crowded.

i bought this because it had fairly decent reviews on Best Buy but honestly, there is hardly any difference in the recording with or without the mic. I'm not expecting wonders and miracles for what I paid for but at least minimize the wind or background noise, but no I didn't get any of that. I'll give it a couple of stars because it looks pretty cool and small enough to fit in your pocket.

Good mike works well. Mike has good coverage range. Recorded sound is of good quality.

Simple and quick connect. Bends to a direction if needed. Quick disconnect when done.
