Insignia™ - Extension Tube Kit for Canon EOS Lense

I really like playing with these. You have to get very close to your subject and it works best on manual focus mode. You do lose some sharpness around the edges but sometimes that adds to the photo.

    Good results some times

I have a Canon 2.8L 100mm macro lens, and a Macro Ring Lite MR-14EX II. Was disappointed that I couldn't focus real close to the insect so I got this extension tube. Works good most of the time but if the bug is on a big surface like a big leaf or a wall, I get this huge flare that ruins the picture. See pictures. All the fur and details of the bugs washed out by this flare. I think the insides are not well made so it's reflecting light in a bad way. If the bug is on a small flower, the flare isn't bad and can be fixed with Photoshop. Also I can't stack all 3, I would get an Error on my 7D Mark II or 5D Mark II. I can stack 2.

Insignia™ - Extension Tube Kit for Canon EOS Lense

I tried these out yesterday and I def need more practice. I was not able to get all 3 to work together, but using my 24mm with the 20mm tube I was able to get some pics. I wanted these for my flower gardens, so we will give it some more practice, but so far I am not disappointed. I have added a pic with just the 24mm using the 70D before and after the extension tube.

It doesn't function with EVERY lens, but enough of them to get a positive outcome worth your money.

The tubes themselves are well designed and function as expected. I'm a little disappointed that the included "lens cap" doesn't have any sort of detent or other mechanism to stay put; it can turn freely and fall off in a bag, but that's an insignificant annoyance for something that I'd rarely carry with me.

the 20 and the 36 seem to force me to close to a subject, maybes because I only ever use my 50mm, making me smoosh my lens to the subject. Anyway compared to buying a designated macro lens this is an amazing, and cost effective alternative

I wanted to learn macro photography so I purchached the extension tube kit as a substitute for a expensive macro lens. So far I have been able to do everything I wanted and pictures are crisp and clear.

The tubes are a little challenging to separate since they have a real snug fit, but this is an interesting way to create macro shots. It saves some money as compared with the cost of macro lenses.

Did not work with EOS Rebel XTi camera

I have a Canon EOS Rebel XTi camera and it did not work with this particular model. The package mentioned that it could be used with EF and EF-S lenses however it didn't seem to work in my situation. To test the tubes, I used my Canon 50mm 1.8 II lens and switched the focus to manual. I cleaned both the front and read of the lens prior to use. When I used the focus ring and moved the camera closer the object, I was unable to focus on the object The extension tube acted as if there was a film on my lens.

It seems to fit and connect electronically. Never did i expect it to look and feel like a 300 dollar set, which it doesn't, but this allows me to experiment with my lenses..i can upgrade if i want later..
