There are small “feet” on all four corners of the case (on the back side ). It lifts the tri lense camera off surfaces ever so slightly . It technically does protect the camera , but I would prefer if there was a ledge surrounding the camera instead. I previously had the spigen core armor case but I thought it was too bland , so I ecxchanged it for this .
