Location of this kit is proximal to PC components. Product is easily missed, not once have I rolled out of bed with the intent to purchase tools at Best Buy. Not once. Email alert re: a "PC Part I had Picked" was 1. Back in stock (post Thanksgiving mayhem) 2. At Best Buy, at what had to be a mistake, too good to be true, unrivaled price drop. Yeah, missed a kid's graduation to fit this into my schedule (somewhere, not mine, or so I hoped). Back to a BOGO on the order of several hundred, keyholder was verifying price. Meanwhile, glance to see anti-static wrist band, further inspection was intriquing, cost/quality/utility assessed - fresh build, sure I have torx bits, and pliers, but I couldn't recall where my fixit kit was. As the keyholder associate was talking, two glorious items out in the open, lips moved but silence surrounded me - denouement of a painstakingly coordinated acquisition period lead to overlapping return windows. Irresponsible, no doubt. Rude, surely, hadn't responded to a word. "Yeah, a set of fresh tips would be nice, and ooo, this pen thing is a flash light AND a precision driver?!"
Claimed my big tickets and made my way to checkout with tools from Best Buy. Worked well. Not magnetized but I'll be darned if an unassembled build gives rise to a crouching tiger hidden MoBo is junk RMA fiesta. Would add a star for spring loaded needle nose. Neat.

I bought this tool kit to remove the hard drives from several old computers that were to be recycled. I had nothing that would fit the screws to open the computer but this kit had exactly what I needed. It has a lot of other great tools in a small bag that I keep by my computer work area so that it is handy and everything is in one place.

I bought this in courtesy of not relying on my brother's other tool kit that's specifically designed for phones and small laptops. Comes directly out of the box! No plastic or any wrappings, just the case itself you can take! I even used this to install my 2 LED Thermaltake Riing fans on my PC! Comparing to using my brother's phone toolkit to this, the screwdriver is way more durable and tight to screw than the other. Even comes with a handful of other screws to use in future builds!

I am so GLAD I have this! It helps me navigate through my tower with this tool! Love the little flashlight that comes with it but wish it was super brighter but the rest is handy! This will save my butt many times in the future. Saves time looking for a screwdriver lol!

I was building a computer for my son. I was putting the motherboard onto the case and realized I didn't have the screws necessary. I thought they would've come with the case. I was going nuts looking for the right sized screws.
I looked on several sites but, couldn't find the screws; not without having to wait several days for them to be shipped. It was late and the hardware store closest to me was closed. I saw this on the Best Buy site and gave it a try.
Oh Yeah, this kit had the screws I needed. as a bonus for me, it had a tool I could use to remove the processor from the board. Unfortunately for me, I had to do that, and it wasn't easy without this tool.
I like this kit, and will certainly find other uses for it.
I only wish it also had a curved set of needle-nose pliers; that would've made it virtually perfect.
I do recommend it.

Absolute necessity for upgrading your PC

I remember seeing this when I stopped in a couple months before buying this and thought it might be a smart purchase. Fast forward to when I actually purchased it, I ended up buying it on a whim just because it was on sale for about $12. Once I got home to upgrade my PC, it was an absolute life saver! I never had to leave my office to go grab a tool or flashlight because this kit had EVERYTHING you could possibly need to safely manipulate the internal parts of your PC, and the tools were a really good quality (no breaks, tears, shatters, etc). It even comes with a small container with dividers that contain different screws that are common in PC building, which I cannot stress how AMAZING that is if you are clumsy like I am and lose screws.

I was going to get a different kit but a Best Buy employee told me they just bought the last one so I got this one instead.
Well, I got this to upgrade a mini computer from a 500GB HD to a PNY 120GB SSD and this kit didn't have a T6 or TR6, but I managed to do it anyway without disconnecting and moving everything, this kits tweezers and the TR8 were the key to that. It was an Apple product, I didn't need to use a sledgehammer but I felt like it and got pretty close to it. *joking* I actually removed and installed the new drive with the tweezers.
I've used this kit many times now for other things and it comes in handy for various tasks.
Sometimes I can't use the regular screwdriver like when removing or installing a keyboard and can't access all motherboard screws, in those cases it's because the handle gets in the way and screwdriver isn't long enough so I have to use another screwdriver that is longer.
But other than that most other times it works great for basic tasks, the end of it can be used as a socket for removing case and power supply screws.
The pliers have a really good grip and the wire cutters works great for cutting wires.
The long tweezers with the pliers help grab dropped screws and/or washers or position them into hard to reach area's.
The allen key set comes in handy for when you need them and they are all kept in a convenient and easy to find place like all the other tools and bits and pieces.
The light and grounding wrist strap also come in handy and I found myself using the light more than I thought I would, it's fast, lightweight, and convenient, I don't have to grab a bigger bulkier flashlight or hold phone and worry about dropping it in the case or damaging something sensitive, the light is lightweight and plastic and chances of it messing up anything if dropped are low, and the light is focused. The light is good when you are checking out connection points like at the motherboard headers, checking SATA and power connections, searching for dropped screws, and other things.
The pliers and screwdriver work fine for other things like minor electrical work such as simple light switch replacement.
The grounding strap does help lower static, so if you have alot of static buildup and you don't have things fully grounded and you don't like getting zapped the grounding strap helps to prevent it in that regard, I usually just manually touch metal of case as I do things as a habit, but it's nice to put the grounding strap on to use my hands more freely and the cord length is appropriate it stretches and is flexible. The onlything I don't like about it is the size of the wrist wrap is a bit small.
The case provides convenient storage for the tools and pieces though the longterm durability of the holding straps are questionable, they stretch out a bit as you use them.
The price is a bit high when comparing to something like a basic automotive toolkit or set with these components, but the quality is ok overall and it's worked for what I'm using it for so no complaints there.

I bought this as I had some work to do on a couple laptops. This was the first time that I've ever taken any computer apart piece by piece and I'm glad I bought this tool kit ahead of time. It had everything that I needed and then some. I hope to never have to take another computer of any kind apart, although I am already thinking about upgrading an HP Windows machine to an SSD.... so this will be a great set of tools to have available. Definitely recommend for someone who's going to be taking computers or similar electronics apart.

This is a good starter kit for beginners who are just barely getting into building their first PC. I had just recently built mine using this kit and it really came in handy. If you already have screwdrivers lying around at home, then I recommend just opting for the anti-static wrist band instead (also sold by insignia). Also, the screwdriver was not magnetic which wasn't too much of a drawback because I still found the kit to be very useful overall. It comes with a flashlight too so that was also helpful.

This is a nice little tool kit to have if you need to get inside your computer case. A little magnifying glass and some sort of a clip on the light to keep it shining where you need it would be nice, but all-in-all a nice computer tool kit. And if you put your tols back in the handy little case, you'll never be looking for that one tool you need...RIGHT NOW!

This kit has almost everything you need. With this I say that because it has everything you need EXCEPT the screwdriver is not magnetic. And for anyone who builds PCs we know how important a magnetic screwdriver is LOL. Apart from this great tool kit and does what’s expected.

This kit is great for most work on desktops and laptops. The one bad flaw is that it doesn't include a super small philips head screwdriver for micro size screws like you will find holding your hard drive in place in a laptop. The smaller philips head bit stripped out one of my micro screws. Other than that, a very thorough kit with needle nose, tweesers, and even screws.
