It's very convenient because of the size; the plug is in the back of the unit and it sits on the wall socket. For a little 4" x 4" speaker it produces enough volume to where we can hear it in an industrial kitchen with equipment running all around us. Excellent product!

It's great for the office, and when you wire it to your desk top, you can have a speaker that's closer to you vs listening via the desk top speakers that usually suck pretty bad.
