I enjoyed a couple of weeks of playing golf with my son-in-law in the Lake Charles Louisiana area a couple of months ago. I found it interesting that nearly everyone in a golf cart on those courses had a portable speaker bluetoothed to their mobile device enjoying music between shots. Rather than being distracting as I would have thought as a traditional golfer, it lightened the atmosphere and I found it relaxing and enjoyable. So when I returned to the Washington Metro Area I decided to pick up one I could use. I didn't want to spend too much as it'll likely get banged around a bit bouncing in a golf cart or thrown in my golf bag and probably get exposed to the elements as I play in the rain, snow, etc. So when I saw this on sale for less than $30 and the reviews looked pretty good I nabbed one. In addition to the price and reviews I liked the fact that this unit provided the ability to charge other devices - blue-toothing an iphone for a 5 hour round of golf while using an iphone app to determine yardage to the hole can drain the phone's battery fairly quickly so I figure this bit would come in handy. So how do I like it? For the price it's hard to complain so I won't. The unit seems pretty rugged. It seems like it'll be fine in the weather. It's certainly heavy enough to not bounce around too much. The neon colors available make it less likely that I'll accidentally leave it behind somewhere. The device charging piece works well. It's quite easy to use. In terms of sound quality, it's OK. Make no mistake, this is not a Bose speaker. A lot more bass would be nice. Having the ability to tune the bass/treble, etc would be nice. The volume range is adequate for riding in a golf cart or playing music on a deck table while you smoke a cigar and drink a beer. The sound will not fill a room. You won't be using this instead of your Sonos or to power your party. I'd view it as a portable personal speaker. OK, I said I wouldn't complain but I'll offer two improvements they might make that would make it a 3+. 1) the "buttons" on top of the unit control the volume, allow you to answer the phone or make a call, etc. The buttons have the normal symbols on them +, -, >>, <<, but they're the same color as the rest of the unit so they're very difficult to see (especially if you're not right on top of the unit and/or don't have your reading glasses on). I used a little black magic marker on my neon red speakers to fill in the indentations for the symbols .... it's not 'pretty' but it makes it much more user friendly. 2) Every time you change the volume the darn thing BEEPS. I say BEEPS in caps because it's a loud beep for every push of the button or touch of the volume slider on your iphone. THIS is quite annoying. How about a smooth change in volume without the darn beep! So, depending on what you're looking for this may or may not be a unit that interests you. While it's adequate for me and my purpose I would have been disappointed if I had paid more than the $29 or whatever it was that I paid. So when I check the "would recommend to a friend" I would also give him or her the caveats discussed here.

I was looking for a Bluetooth speaker to replace the $299 one that just pooped out after 4 years. But...I wasn't ready to spend that type of money at this time. So, I started to look at less expensive options. I did some research and was drawn to this little speaker from Insignia, the Best Buy "house" brand. I've had other Insignia products in the past and figured it would be worth a try, especially at this price point. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that this unit was a pretty good speaker, a good value AND, as a bonus, a good battery charger for my phone. It doesn't fill a room with booming bass like my old Jambox speaker did, but it does fit in my backpack nicely when I go out and has come in handy when travelling as well. Now all I need to do is to remember to pack the little USB cable when I take it out!

I had the smaller version and wanted a fuller sound portable bluetooth speaker, but i did not want to spend a lot. The small version lacked bass & was ok at low to medium volume. In my research, i saw there was a larger version (a.k.a,Insignia Brick) which also could charge devices. When i got the Insignia Brick, i did my due diligence, as i always do with ALL my speakers (Mirage, Polk Audio, Paradigm, Bose, NHT, UE Boom, JBL) and take the time to break them in by playing the speaker at low volume for 40 hours. Many people make the mistake of cranking up the speaker to almost max volume as soon as they get it. IMO, you are overloading the speaker reflex, which in the long run will make the speaker sound distorted. I listen to a various types of genre so here is my feedback on the speaker. All types of music (jazz, piano, country, pop, heavy metal, rock, grunge, dubstep) sound great at low-to-medium volume. From medium-to-high volume, jazz, piano, soft country, still sound good. Medium-to-high volume does a descent job filling a 19ft x 14ft room. However, dont expect to feel like your at a dance club or rock concert. Unfortunately, heavy metal, rock, some pop songs, grunge, and dubstep sound a little muffled and lack some high treble tones. Dont get me wrong, it is not terrible, but dont expect crisp clarity or solid bass at high volumes. This is still a very good speaker to have with a couple of friends and music in the background, but dont expect a kareoke night. I love the portability of these speakers. I have other portable speakers, but this is perfect during my hotel stays on my business trip. It is 100% better than the iHome speakers typically in the hotels. I love my large UE BOOM speaker, but it is larger than what i want to you pack in my suit case. FYI, the UE BOOM that is not compatible with Alexa sounds so much better than the new UE Boom that works with Amazon Alexa. Hope this helps!!!!

This portable speaker is great! The sound is just what I expected. The Bluetooth connection is great so you won't have to plug in your devices in and have a cord bothering you and It's light to be carried anywhere. The battery lasts long amount of hours with a full charge. And the addition of the power bank is excellent!

I got this speaker for my mom for Christmas. She loves to have a speaker by the pool and sometimes to use around the house while she's cleaning. We have had previous problems with the sound not being loud enough for her to actually enjoy the speakers, so I read earlier reviews and they did give me hope. We got the speaker and she loves it. It was very easy to set up and sync with her phone, it's a very cute color (we got the blue one), and the sound is incredible for such a decent sized speaker. I've heard louder speakers and I've seen smaller speakers, but this one is worth every penny I paid for it and I'm hoping it will be sufficient come summer and my mom uses it by the pool while outside. Overall a good quality as well. It is a little heavier than one would expect but that isn't a problem or anything. I want to make a note, also, that I state it's a good speaker for light use because she won't be using it every single day and when she does use it, it won't be in harsh conditions. When it is outside it will still be sheltered and taken good care of, so I'm not sure how it would stand to someone who is a little more rough than my mom would be.

Was easy to setup, worked perfectly to bluetooth and even to radio on cell phone. battery is good. Sound quality is good, its only $20 so your not getting an amazing sound but for being at beach or wherever it worked great. Its not super loud, but I recommend if you want to save money and have a portable speaker.

I got this speaker on sale and is totally worth 25$. The sound is louder than you think and doesn't distort. The battery last a long time and it's so small it's ver convenient to take anywhere. The Bluetooth gets a little spotty through 30 ft and 2 walls but, I'm not complaining. I don't think I would pay full price, but I enjoy what it is.

I use this with my small kitchen tv and my computer. I only needed to charge it twice in over one month of use. I use it every day. I turn it off when not in use. I own a small tv/DVD player tv for my kitchen with awful sound quality . I use this speaker instead of the tv speaker. I am able to enjoy my kitchen tv now as i wash dishes. Sound carries through the kitchen and over the kitchen noise. Seems to have all bass and treble sounds. With its portability and seldom need for charging, I can easily switch it to my computer. I liked it so much, i bought one for each of my children. He uses his to play hip hop music as the family gets ready for bed. It draws us all into the room giving us some time to connect as a family. Then he uses the Bluetooth to keep speaker in his bed and plays a song list with his ipod across the room (since I do not allow him to take screen time in his bedroom). I am very happy with this product. And all this for a great value of $25.

I like the size of it, makes it very portable. It can fit easily on my backpack. The battery life is pretty good, and together with the built-in power bank helps when my phone is running out of battery. It can sound a little muffle at times, but for its size, it is ok.

This is a great speaker that sounds really good! I didn't know what to expect from this and I was pleasantly surprised. It plays all my music from my iPhone 6 wirelessly thru blutooth, it is portable with good bass & sound, and it has a long battery life. I'm glad I bought this.

Okay, so let's get this out in the open right out front, this is a cheap speaker, and it sounds like a cheap speaker. Now that is out of the way, where it excels, the battery life is amazing, it is very light and portable, it has both front and back stereo speakers so you can fill a large area with sound (not the best quality sound, but still), and the ability to charge your phone off of the speaker battery while using the speaker is a cool plus. And yes, while I do kind of knock on the sound quality (it gets a bit tinny and has little bass), but for the price, I'm not sure I could find better. I use it to listen to podcasts while in the kitchen or yard, and for that the quality is good enough and the portability and long battery life more than make up for it.

Bought this for a birthday present. Amazing sound. Very compact. Easy set up with an iPod. Love that you can power your device from the speaker. Liked it so much I picked one up for me this week.

So its light weight and i can carry it around the house, great sound very easy to use been anylizing these for a long time the battary charge is excellant and its the perfect size...

I use this speaker to improve the sound on my tablet, for audio books and music. I generally have problems using Bluetooth, but this speaker is easy to connect to. Sound is clear and uncolored. It has lots of volume. Being portable it fits easily in my backpack. Being battery powered, it is easy to set up. Turn on the speaker. Turn on the tablet bluetooth. Done. Let’s be honest, though. If you are looking for a speaker to get a whole room of people dancing, you will want something bigger and with stronger bass. But for any normal listening this works fine. Excellent value for the price.

Insignia's smaller version of this speaker had a slightly better sound than this one as evaluated from memory(one was a gift). Both were purchased at a super low price so for the money that's OK. It has solid construction, very good battery life and is super to connect and use. CAMO color was only one left otherwise color is meaningless and besides why would anyone want to disguise or hide a bluetooth speaker? By the way, this was an open box purchase and was in new condition.

Absolutely in love with my new Bluetooth speaker! I was searching for a portable speaker that was small but packed a lot of sound and bass and this is it! Extremely affordable comes in beautiful, bold colors and connects automatically to any device! I use this whole I'm getting dressed, working out, cooking it has endless uses! The sound is truly clear and relays clear tunes! I hook this up to my pandora and play! And you will not have to recharge for a while! You can't go wrong with this purchase!

I caught this Bluetooth speaker on sale and thought I would give it a try. Glad I did. Simple to use and connects to my phone every time I use it. You can even use it as a portable battery for your usb devices too, though I haven't tried using it for that yet. Not a whole lot of bass, but what do you expect for a small speaker at this price. All in all it is worth checking out if you are looking for a small inexpensive Bluetooth speaker.

This is the perfect desktop speaker! Easy to setup and use. Perfect size and color, looks great on my desk at work. Sound quality good. Definitely recommend!

This speaker was easy to set-up and use. It provides decent sound. The battery works for a very long time. It is not loud. In an office, or even as background music, it works great. While exercising in the company fitness room, the speaker was hard to hear over the sound of the fans and the exercise equipment. However, for the $25 price tag, it is a very good purchase.
