The Insignia SATA to USB-C Adapter is a fantastic tool for anyone who needs quick and easy access to 2.5” SATA drives. Whether you're recovering data from an old laptop hard drive or upgrading to an SSD, this adapter makes the process seamless. One of the best features is its USB-C connectivity, which provides fast transfer speeds and broad compatibility with modern devices. It works great with Windows, macOS, and even some gaming consoles for expanding storage. The plug-and-play design means no drivers or complicated setup—just connect, and you're ready to go! The build quality is solid, and the cable length is just right—long enough to be flexible but not so long that it gets in the way. Transfers are quick and stable, making it an excellent choice for cloning drives, backing up data, or repurposing old SSDs. For the price, this adapter is a great investment. It’s compact, lightweight, and extremely useful for tech enthusiasts, IT professionals, or anyone who works with storage devices. Highly recommended!

I repurpose my SSDs for backing stuff up--better than thumb drives, I still use mechanical drives too but this is faster obviously--I don't happen to like storing stuff in the cloud.

Product is good with standards. Easy to use. I had to access data from my old laptop hard drive, plug and access , very easy.

Needed to get some data off of my dying SSD. I had already removed it for some testing and didn't want to go through the trouble to hook it up again to the Motherboard using SATA. This cable allowed me to plug it into a USB-C, super convenient.

The insignia, SATA to USB-C adapter for 2.5 SATA drives is super fast, reliable, and robust. I love it.

Works exactly as it should. It is usb c, I bought an adapter to work with my older computer and worked great.

The Insignia SATA to USB-C adapter has been a really handy tool to keep around. It makes it easy to pull files off an old 2.5-inch drive or set up a new SSD without any hassle. The USB-C connection keeps everything fast and smooth, and it works well across different systems, which makes it reliable no matter what device you’re using.Setup is effortless—just plug it in and the drive shows up right away. The adapter feels well built, and the cable is a good length for working on a desk without creating clutter. Transfer speeds stay steady, which is great when you’re cloning a drive or moving large batches of files. For something so small, it ends up being surprisingly useful. It’s lightweight, affordable, and a good tool to have if you deal with storage upgrades or data recovery. It’s definitely worth having in your kit.

Works perfectly have had no issues used it to transfer data off some old 2.5 an 3 inch disks format them partition some and no problems

This Insignia SATA to USB-C adapter was an absolute lifesaver when my seven-year-old SATA boot drive started dying. I was able to pull the old 2.5 inch drive, plug it into this cable, and connect it to another PC over USB-C with almost no effort. The drive showed up like a regular external drive, and I could immediately start copying off my important documents and photos instead of losing them. Using it felt very straightforward and stress free. There is no enclosure to fuss with, just a plug on one end for the SATA drive and a USB-C connector on the other, so it is quick to hook up and easy to tuck away when you are done. Being able to use it on a separate PC made the whole recovery process much simpler than opening up another tower and dealing with extra power and SATA cables. For the price, the peace of mind it gave me was outstanding. It let me recover years of files from a failing drive with almost no learning curve. If you have old laptop drives lying around or ever need to rescue data from a dying disk, this little adapter is worth every penny and then some. Five stars.

Excellent quality and work like Plug and Play. It saved my day after able to successfully retrieve my data. Data movement between two storage devices were fast.

Bought to recover data from an old HDD to my new computer and for that purpose, it worked well. Easy enough to attach to the old drive--pretty seamless plug-and-play functionality. Admittedly, I was not in a rush and happy to let the transfer process play out but I was pleasantly surprised by how smoothly the process went. And the price is really good.

Connected immediately to my hard disk. No connection problems. Easy to use.

The USB-C is essential these days. I needed it! Works super good and looks robust.

The device does its job well, and attaches fairly easily to the drive.

Works great if your trying to clear or transfer data from ssd sata drives cant give honest feedback for mechanical drives i only have one old one and adapter does not produce enough power to run full size hdd but great for ssd and beats install/uninstall repeatedly to transfer data but im pretty dumb when it comes to proper removal i yanked drives and moved stuff later adapter was great for that and speed was acceptable

It works! Purchased to change access data on a large hard disk from a Windows computer no longer working. What more can I say. The price was reasonable compared to Amazon (that is a bit more, but I did not need to spend $25 to get rapid delivery...)

I am writing this four stars because drives are not hot swappable with it. You have to unplug the adapter and swap the drive and then plug the adapter back in. You can't just unplug the drive and plug in the next one. This is in both Linux and Windows. If you plug in the adapter first and then plug in the drive, the drive will not be recognized by either operating system or even show up in /dev Other than that it works great. My speeds were consistently maxed out with it plugged into a thunderbolt port.

Geat for reading/data transfer from SSD 1T cards - had one that I had removed from a legacy computer and this made it easy to just plug it into USB connection and read it with the Windows file utility. Best Buy had the best price - tip: sometimes you can't find it on display in the store - so just order it online and pick it up. I've done that several times.

great product easy to use supports usb 3.9 which very fast for data; ive used it many times

First time I used Acronis DriveCleanser with wind 11. It cleaned the drive perfectly and made a perfect copy of win 11 that works perfict. Even though win 11 isn't perfict.
