I'm sure this charger is fine for lighter notebooks or chrome books but not full fledged notebooks. BestBuy obviously chooses to omit this information anywhere on the site so you get suckered into buying it. My Dell Inspiron 15 5000 is compatible with it yes, but does not charge properly as it recommends 130 Watts. This is like taking a modern phone and charging it with a 1AMP charger, it'll do the job but will take 3x - 4x longer and on top of that, your OS may throttle performance while using the charger. Steer clear if you're needing to power a full fledged laptop.

This works fine for my older computer but it does not have the adapter for my newer computer - Spectre x360 2-in-1 13.3" 4K Ultra HD Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Core i7 - It is a small flat adapter which is not provided

You know why you're here: you're away from home, laptop in your bag, and suddenly you realize that you left your charger behind. Maybe, like me a few weeks ago, you have an all-day meeting starting tomorrow morning and your battery's barely good for an hour and a half. But what are the specs of your socket???!!! How can you possibly find a compatible adapter???!!! I'm here to tell you that Insignia's universal adapter appears to live up to its name - one of its plugs works perfectly on my Acer E5-575G, another one fits an older HP Envy 15 in my office, and a third one fits an ancient Dell Inspiron I found buried on a shelf. And there's three more I haven't even tried! If you poke around online you can find the manufacturer's list of compatible laptops, but just be aware that it isn't comprehensive: my Acer wasn't listed, but it works fine - it's plugged in right now, in fact. It's not perfect - it has an oddly short cord between the transformer thingie and your laptop, so depending on the placement of the wall outlet, the transformer might be hanging off the edge of your desk. And it's not cheap. If you hunt around online you might find similar items for less money - but those sellers aren't going to deliver to your hotel tonight, and the local Best Buy is open late!

Charger is light, small and the adapters fit all of our laptop regardless of the model. It recharges the batteries quickly too!

Bought for a Lenovo Thinkpad T470 and it works perfectly. The heads are well-designed and don't get in the way of using the laptop on any surface, large or small. The fittings are tight and feel secure, and the cords are the perfect mix of length and convenience. I bought it at the same time as a similar Targus universal adapter, and while the Targus charges just a bit faster, this one gets far more use due to its easy portability and unobtrusive footprint.

Initially, I did not want this device. I went looking for a specific cord for my work computer because I had left mine at the office during a business trip. This was all the store had that would work and I was pretty put out over it, but it was my fault for leaving the charger, so I dealt with it. I'm so glad I ended up getting it though! It works for my work laptop (Lenovo) , my roommates (Dell), and my sisters laptop(HP). We all just take turns using it when we're feeling to lazy to leave the living room. We just switch out the head and pop it into our respective devices.

Much smaller than original. Charges my laptop just fine. What do you say about a power adapter? Does get quite hot, hope it don't become a problem.

This charger is perfect for the laptop I bought it for. It was a risk buying it because some adapters don't have the right head to plug in but this one has the one I needed and more. It also is more sturdy and charges faster than standard cords.

Bought to replace my Dell power supply that had stopped working. Works flawlessly and is much cheaper than purchasing an OEM power supply.

Runs cooler than other power supplies and it is compact in size, standing out from it's competition. The status indicator light is a bonus too. The future generations should have a kill switch/surge protector on it's housing . Leaving items like a laptop plugged in is a waste of energy. So, only option is to always unplug or buy a power outlet surge protector....ugh! So waiting for the electricity bill to come and see if the product earns 5 stars.

the best companion for my trips. it doesn't take much room and it doesn't weight that much. It keep my computer charged at all times and to not overheat.

I bought this charger to replace a charger that I forgot at a hotel I have a toshiba laptop and it definitely was compatible and charged it but it was not a snug fit. This is the laptop I purchased it but I was also able to use it for my gateway and it was a much better fit. I like the multiple tips so it can be utilized for many different brands

I frequently travel and at times work from home. Every two years the company I work for switches our department laptops, so I bought a charger I can use with any manufacturer. The weight is perfect as I leave this charger in my backpack and travel with it. The chargers that come with our laptops are bulkier and heavier, so I leave one at home and another in my workstation at work. This one is perfect.

My Dell power cord quit working and I couldn't use my laptop. Needed to replace it as I needed to use laptop and couldn't. I couldn't get a Dell replacement for a while and I needed it ASAP so I went to Best Buy and did a cross reference and this was what was recommended. Works fine and was a lot cheaper than the OEM replacement.

i have ordered 10 of these items to use at our office, this works for most laptops and the fact that it has multiple heads to switch from pretty much guarantees that one of them will fit any laptop you need a plug for. Highly recommend this product for anyone in need of a universal charger.

This is a great universal charger for laptops. It has almost any plug you need, but if they don't have the right one for you, Insignia will send you the right charging tip. Its thin, lightweight, and fits well in my laptop bag. If you are looking for a replacement or an extra charger, this is the one!

After misplacing (losing it sounds so irresponsible) the charger that came with my HP computer, I was in desperate need of a new one. I was directed to this one by a Best Buy associate and it was worth the money! Works great, has multiple adapters and is small and convenient to carry.

I was worried about buying this because some of the reviews that said it wasn't a laptop charger and/or they power was so low it wouldn't charge their laptops. Got it today and it works fine with my HP Spectre. If it is charging slower, it's not obviously slower. I didn't get any message about the charger causing my computer to run less than optimally, either. The one thing I will call out is that although the battery part is slimmer, it is heavier than the original one that came with my HP laptop.

I needed a power cord for a laptop. Bought this on a whim and was exceedingly glad I did. It comes with different adapters to fit many laptops, but the company will send you others if yours is not included. Was easy to setup and have had no issues with it in the few months I've been using it.
