While trying to clean my cpu cooling fan, I had to force it out of the circuit board. the processor was stuck to the cooling fins. I had to physically remove it and was getting an overheating shutdown issue when I put it back. I had to purchase the thermal compound to get things working again. After I cleaned off the old and reapplied the compound, my pc fired right up with no issues.

I used this product on my older MacBook Pro. After taking it apart and baking the moterboard in the oven, I reassembled it using the Insignia paste on the heatsinks. It worked great. Laptop runs at the correct tempature. Only reason I didn't give four stars is the size of the tube. I assumed it would have been a larger amount when I ordered it. That said, This product with it's silver content really works well!

When compared to other products offered by Antec,OZC Freeze, etc. this does the job nearly as well. I bought this in a pinch & for the price you get a lot, it's made of the grey high performance type compound, not a grease. Spreads nicely, no pressure needed. Slightly on the thin side & thermals while low change rapidly meaning the compound isn't transferring heat quickly enough. However, never overheated & my rig is pretty extreme.

Purchased this to refresh a PS3 that was over heating. After I was able to dig down to the heat sink, I cleaned the old paste off using rubbing alcohol, blot dried with a paper towel and applied this product. My PS3 has been humming along great now for weeks without any overheating, which is critical since you can't buy a new PS3 anymore.

I build PCs for friends and coworkers when time allows and this stuff works very well. I’ve used it on multiple builds including my own. Temps hover around 78 degrees Celsius at full synthetic load which is only 1 degree higher than I had recorded with my last thermal compound that was twice the price. Can’t go wrong with this paste.

I highly recommend this product for you run of the mill computer needs. Unless you are trying to use this for a gaming computer this should easily last you longer than manufacturer’s thermal compound. I used it when I checked my desktop computer build after 5 years of use and noticed the paste has started to crumble.

The key to using this compound is to use as thin a layer as possible to transfer heat without any gaps in it. Too much and the heat stays too long, gaps and the heat gets trapped and wont leave. To do so, place a very small amount and use a credit card to smooth out the paste very thin and FULLY cover the processor before putting the heatsink or cooler back on top of it. Connect it firmly and you should be as good as new, no problems. There is a large amount in these small tubes so its always good to have on hand and replace the compound when you notice temperatures rising again. The paste gets old over time. Also, any time you "check" your paste, you will have to replace it. Once you take the cooler off it breaks the bond and creates gaps. So once you push it on, do NOT lift it back up or you will have to completely start over.

Needed some thermal compound for my laptop GPU and CPU. Purchased this Insignia thermal compound because it had a reasonable price. Seems to have made my CPU and GPU temperatures a little lower than before application. I think one reason is because the old thermal compound had gotten hard and was not doing its job, so this thermal compound worked as good or better than the original.

I got this after running out of one of the "premium" compounds, and have yet to notice any difference - it's really good stuff, and there is enough in the tube for quite a few CPU installs - a nice change from the tiny little tubes on some of the so-called "premium" compounds.

I did a major cleaning of my two desktop PC's and decided to give it the works. I looked at the other thermal paste that was twice as expensive and gives you half as much. Then I saw this Insignia brand generic one. It works just as well and my PC if running like the day I bought it

There's not a lot of places that carry thermal paste in my area, I thought I had some at the time but as soon as I started rebuilding my pc with a new mobo I realized I was wrong. Headed to Best Buy and was pleased that they carried thermal paste. :)

I couldn't find the tube of thermal paste that I have somewhere in my house, and Best Buy had it. I can no longer use Radio Shack, since the only one remaining in my town closed about a week and half before this. I'm glad they had it.

i would have put 3.5 stars if i could have. better than average. it is a little more fluid than i would have liked and i had to clean the cpu after my first attempt. Once i knew how it was going to come out i was able to adjust the pressure behind the plunger to give me what i needed.
