Solid product but is not "universal" for smaller Epson projectors.

This was a replacement from another brand sold by Best Buy and its mounts perfectly. It’s everything we were looking for and easy to install!

The Insignia Universal Projector Ceiling Mount is a good value and solidly built. The mount is all metal construction, and easily assembled in pieces to make mounting a breeze. #Unboxing# The ceiling mount comes in a surprisingly small box given the size and adjustability of the mount itself. The plate for the ceiling, down tube, articulation, and the projector attachment are 4 separate pieces. A template is included for drillling into your ceiling joists, along with various screw sizes and extension arms to fit most projectors. #Using the mount# Mounting was very easy with the included template. You can easily drill holes in the correct spots and then mount the ceiling plate first. After getting the ceiling plate mounted, you can then screw on the down tube and the articulating elbow and tighten down the set screws with the included hex key. From there, you can mount the plate to your projector - it accomodates either 3 or 4 hole mounting patterns. I'm using it with a small cheap projector for my kids' room, but I compared the mounting pattern with a very large Dell 4K HDR short throw projector and it would easily work with that projector as well. Once you have the plate mounted to your projector, you loosen two bolts on the articulating joint and hang the projector on the bolts. Get your angles set, and then tighten everything down again. My only complaint about the mount is the lack of wire management built in - you could theoretically run an HDMI cable through the down tube but it would have to be very thin and you'd have to be pretty clever with how you mounted it to your ceiling joists. Velcro straps it is, I guess. #Final thoughts# The Insignia Universal Projector Ceiling mount is a good value for a quality mount at a fair price. I don't think I'd trust an expensive projector to anything less than this mount. It's easy to mount and get your angles just right to keep geometry correct.

Looking for an affordable option to mount your projector to the ceiling without paying the high price of the name brand? Look no further than the Insignia Universal Projector Ceiling Mount. It's designed to hold up to 35 pounds so it should easily accommodate most home projectors. The package includes everything you need to mount your projector to a drywall or concrete ceiling. It really is universal as it can be adjusted to fit virtually any projector. Use the included template to mount the ceiling plate and then screw in the mounting body. If the holes line up, you can attach the mounting base directly to your projector. If not, simply attach the adjustable arms and line up the mounting holes. It works even if your projector has irregular mounting holes. The mounting body allows multiple swivel adjustments to fine-tune the placement of your image. You can tilt the image +/- 25 degrees and even swivel a full 360 degrees. I really appreciate the flexibility in the mount. Once you've got it set, simply tighten the screws with the enclosed hex wrench and you're ready to go! The black, heavy-duty metal construction makes it very durable and at about 8", it's barely visible between the projector and the ceiling. Once again, another quality product from the folks at Best Buy!

This mount is really straight forward. You install one bracket to the ceiling, using two simple screws (wall anchors are included if you are not mounting to a plate or a stud), then you mount the projector using the adjustable/removable arms to the mount holes on your projector to the basic plate of the mounting unit. Then you simply attach that to the mid piece and screw it in. Plug in your projector, power up then adjust the angle of your projection, and you are ready to go. pros universal mounting arm patterns allows for many different projectors to work with this mount. heavy duty, feels strong and should last a lifetime mostly easy to adjust projector with simple screw adjustments cable management, it is nice that there is a hole in the primary wall plate and the next piece which allowed to run a network cable and hdmi cable through the center of it that helped hide a good amount of the cabling, making for a cleaner install cons personally didnt find anything wrong with the hardware, it did what was expected Overall, i would recommend this universal ceiling mount. especially if youre on a budget but needing something well built, i really dont think you could go wrong with this one.

This projector mount is quick and easy to setup using the included mounting hardware for your ceiling location and where the projector will be placed. The mount is a universal mount, making it easy to align with you projector and mounting to the ceiling. The max weight limit for this is limited to 35 lbs., due to the anchors and only 2 screws holding this into place on the ceiling. There is an included cable holder for the bracket to the cable running closely along the projector mount and into their recessed location in the wall for routing. The bracket does have multi-angle adjustment options to with allen-key locking to help level the projector to it projected screen location. Once installed and everything is locked into place, it has a nice clean professional look to it. While this color is nice, it would be nicer if they had this available in other color tones to match your walls, this can be sprayed to match the color tone if you would prefer it to match your ceiling color exactly. Not all projectors are black as some are white and having the option for a white one would help it blend in a little more better with its mounting environment.

This mount is no joke. It's hefty. I've only had smaller projectors and had to borrow someone's larger projector just to test this out. It works well, though, and although the "universal" tag is a little misleading when it actually means universal if your projector has 3 or 4 mounting screws, it's universal enough. Out of curiosity, I did end up trying out my smaller projectors with a single screw on the bottom and was able to still mount them without an issue. But it's made to be used on larger full size projectors with some assortment of 4 screws in the middle or 3 screws around the edges. Installation is as hard as you'd expect. The biggest difficulty comes with finding your joist in the ceiling and screwing the base into it. You get a nice little template so you can easily mark where you need holes, though. So it's really not that bad. Everything else in this box screws together pretty easily. Included instructions are pretty easy to follow so I didn't find a lot of difficulty. It's nice that you install the base first and then everything else screws onto that. Make sure you're screwing into joists or using some heavy duty anchors (there are concrete anchors in the box). The specs say there's a 35 lb weight limit but the actual mount isn't very light itself so you're hanging a decent amount of weight from your ceiling here. The two main ways to mount your projector depend on your projector. If you have square of 4 screws in the middle of your projector, you don't need to do anything but screw the mounting bracket into those 4 screws. If you have 3 or 4 screws around the outside of the bottom of your projector, the box comes with 4 arms that you screw into those holes and then you arrange them and screw them into the bracket. This is where the universal nature shines. Usage is basically set it and forget it. There's a wire channel you can put on the main pipe that lets your route your cables up. The base rotates 360 degrees in a circle and tilts 15 degrees up and down. So you should be able to get the picture exactly where you want it. Tighten down the set screws with an included allen wrench and you're all done. Basically, it's a mount. It does what's on the tin. If you're in the market for one and this is in your price range, look into it. It feels hefty and well made. It works with a lot of different projectors (and even some that it doesn't say it's supposed to work with). And it allows for a lot of freedom of movement after you're got it mounted.

I have had my projector sitting on a shelf in my garage/man-cave for several years and have had to deal with the limitations of that setup for far too long. So I went looking for a good ceiling mount that wouldn’t break the bank. When I came across the Insignia universal mount, it looked like it would check all of the boxes. Having had good luck with other Insignia products in the past, I assumed this mount would be no different, and I was right. It is heavily made, easy to install, and does what it’s supposed to with very little fuss. The most difficult part of the installation was figuring out how best to attach the arms to my projector because the mounting locations are atypical and not symmetrical. After some fiddling around, I was able to match up the arms with the three mounting holes and tighten them appropriately for a solid connection using the included screws. However, once I got that little chore out of the way, the rest of the process went quite smoothly. I appreciate the simple, two-screw mounting method as locating them into a stud is straightforward and more logical than other four-screw setups. The mounting template helps ensure you drill the holes in your mounting surface at exactly the right spots to line up with the base plate. In fact, after my first attempt resulted in the projector being too close to the screen so as to not completely fill it (totally my fault for not paying attention to the throw characteristics of my projector) I was able to quickly and easily dismount and reinstall the whole thing a few feet further back. Once I had the mount secured in the right location and lifted the projector into place, it was simply a matter of adjusting the angles and tightening the set screws to make sure it didn’t move around. This mount has plenty of adjustability to meet what should be all but the most extreme cases of mounting locations. Just be sure to take your allen key and Phillips screwdriver up on the ladder with you when setting the final position. One tip if you’ve never ceiling mounted a projector. Before putting the projector itself onto the ceiling, turn it on, go through the settings, and make sure you have the image set to be inverted. Otherwise, once you have it up, you’ll be trying to navigate the menus upside-down which is not the most fun or ideal thing to do. Trust me.

This thing is a beast! First off, Insignia is Best Buy's "in-house" brand. I have had a greatbdeal of experience with Insignis over the years, and it has almost always been quite positive. This projector mount is no different. First off, it's realtively heavy. That is a good thing when it is holding a $1000 / $2000 or even more valued projector. Overall quality is great. The build is top-notch, the materials are very good, and the versatility is great. I tried it with three different projectors, (the least expensive one was $800, the middle one was $1500, and the one I use in my theater was $2200), and it worked on all three. I would have no problem using it on any projector, with 100% faith. As for installation, this is the third cieling mount I have installed over the years. This unit is no different from the others. If you are a fairly handy person, and have spent countless dollars and hours at any number of home improvement stores, you will have no problem installing it. If on the other hand, you may not be the most handy person, you may want to consider hiring a professional to install it. End of the day, you will love the outcome. If you have the4 need, this is a great choice, and I would reccomend to a friend.

For years I have been wanting to do a ceiling mounted projector in our house for movie nights. We enjoy having movie nights on the weekend, and love watching them on our projector for a huge movie like experience. The Insignia™ - Universal Projector Ceiling Mount allowed me to finally make the installation a reality. The projector mount worked great with our Epson Home Cinema projector. It will pretty much work with any standard three/four screw mount system. The installation was incredibly simple. Have a stud finder handy, a drill, and a screwdriver to properly install the mount to your ceiling. The adjustable mounting arms are great. Plus, the mount can be tilted for proper adjustment. I took it the extra mile and ran a new electrical outlet and cable management system next to the mount. This made for a much more cleaner and theater like experience. My surround sound system, HDMI, and power cable are now neately tucked in one place. If you are looking for a ceiling mount for your projector, I would highly recommend the Insignia™ - Universal Projector Ceiling Mount.

The insignia adjustable projector ceiling mount was exactly what I needed. It is fully adjustable both in the angle and the use of arms to connect the mount to your projector. I received this yesterday, and it took less than an hour to install including getting out all my tools and putting them away. I first snapped lines to figure where center in the ceiling was and made sure there was nothing blocking the way. If you have a ceiling fan in the room where you want to install this, you must ensure that your projector has keystoneing, giving it the ability to project from a side angle and then correct the image on the wall. Anyway, if there is nothing in the way, it is quick and easy to mount this on the ceiling, and just as quick to mount your projector, then you can fine tune the adjustments to make sure everything is lined up. One thing to ensure, you always want to make sure that you adequately hand tighten the screws into your projector. Do not use a ratchet or anything, or even a drill, as you could crack the plastic.

[PROS] Simple Install: Getting the mount setup is not overly complicated. It's a few screws and attachments. The package contents does include a mounting template so its easy to get started. It's nowhere near as painful as mounting a television unless your ceiling is extremely tall. Secure Hold: The mount didn't have much give after the installation. Some mount bases use 4 screws, but surprisingly two screws were sufficient enough. Overall, I feel assured that the projector will stay in place. Appropriate features: This mount isn't loaded with features, but it contains most of the necessary and desired capabilities. The 35 lb. weight limit is definitely accommodating for many projectors. The degree of tilt helps to achieve the best angle. Also, there's a basic cable guide for nearby ceiling outlets. [CONS] Height Limitation: The only knock that I can make against this mount is that it isn't height adjustable. A 9 inch height is okay, but I would prefer something that could be extended to accommodate for user error in placement. The tilt functionality alleviates some of this to a degree. [CONCLUSION] The Insignia Projector Mount is solid product that doesn't break the bank. It's made of quality materials and includes much of what I desire out of a projector mount for my ceiling. I would highly recommend it.

Bottom Line: The Insignia Universal Projector Ceiling Mount is easy to install and should work well for flush mount ceilings. Pros: easy to install Cons: no vertical height adjustment; not good for drop ceilings Review: The Insignia Universal Projector Ceiling Mount is easy to install and comes with the hardware necessary for most installations. To mount to joists, you simply need to drill two pilot holes using the included template and then wrench in the base with two included lag bolts. The bolts are pretty long, and so I do not have any concerns about the mount coming loose. From there, you screw on the descending arm, attach the bracket to the projector and to the mount arm, and tighten everything into place. The whole installation process should only take about 20 minutes including configuring your projector to display the picture properly. That said, my projector has a non-standard bracket placement that requires slightly longer bolts than the ones that are included. The instruction manual does provide pictures and directions on how to handle different bracket placements, and so it was just a matter of going to the hardware store to pick up the specific bolts my projector requires. There are two issues buyers should note when looking at this mount. First, it is designed to be installed directly flush with the ceiling. The instructions cover how to install through drywall into wood joists or anchoring to a concrete ceiling. You won’t, therefore, be able to achieve a clean look with a drop ceiling even though you can drop the mount arm through the tile if you really want. Second, the length of the mount arm isn’t adjustable, and so raising or dropping the height of the projection has to be done with the tilt of the bracket and tweaking the image with the projector.
