We purchased this speaker on the advice of our son who is quite knowledgeable and already owns one of these. He felt that, for the price, the speaker is of very good quality and that it would serve us well. We thoroughly enjoy interacting with Google and, also, enjoy listening to music. We have it plugged in at a central location and can access it from the kitchen or the living room. To be quite honest, we have not compared the sound quality with a more expensive speaker but do feel that this one is very good for the price.

I had gotten an Insignia google voice assistant pretty much like this for free when buying a Keurig coffeemaker last Christmas. It is used constantly by my wife, so when I saw this on sale I figured I’d get it and put it out in the porch for some music. I thought that the only difference was that this has a 5 hour battery in it where the other one did not. When I received it I was surprised to see that it is 2 to 3 times larger than the other one, lol. This is not a problem though...it works well and sounds great. Worth every penny

This speaker is a bargain if you can pick it up during one of the times its on sale. Easy setup and doesn't exactly what it says. I bought two and linked them for a nice surround sound. My only complaint is that when you link two speakers one always seems to want display something other than the time and constantly says "sET" which is annoying, but ultimately it doesn't what I need it to do despite it obviously not fully cooperating. These sound about as good as the full sized Echo's so save your money and pick these up.

I am so happy I purchase this, you can actually move it around your house and the sound is great. It's better than they Google products

I was intending to buy the smaller version, but after checking them both side by side I decided to go with the larger size. The bass on it make a difference, plus the rechargeable battery has 5 hours of battery life. So you can take it outside and play music as long as you are within range of your wifi. Come to think of it, I should have bought the small one for the bedroom, and use this one in the living room. It is a good alternative to the more expensive google home, specially when it is on sale.

I purchased this item when there was a sale going on and highly recommend it for the price. I have the google home speaker and feel this one is comparable and the benefit is it’s also portable. For the price, I’d rather get this than the google home mini. I mainly use it to listen to music by using my voice which is awesome. It does not have the calling feature of the google home and home mini but I don’t really use those anyway. If your looking for a speaker to go along with google play music or YouTube music this one is awesome!

I was pessimistic about the capabilities of this speaker, but I was pleasantly surprised. The battery makes it the first assistance type device that it portable. I can take it on the patio or around the house or yard. The assistant responds before my other Google Assistant devices and the sound is better too because it is larger. You don't get good stereo separation because of its size. I would have rated it higher if it supported making phone calls. This device is well worth the money.

This is much better than I expected. I purchased the smaller version a few months ago. This one showed up on sale for a few bucks more than the mini so I decided to order. As I was placing my order there was an offer to get 2 at a discounted price. Was surprised that it was bigger. The bonus is that with this one I am able to pair all three of the devices and have music in each room. I have a friend with Alexa and the google assist provides more answers. This one also makes calls from my contacts which is a plus.

I bought this mainly because it was Google Home ready and I wanted a speaker for the living room just to listen to while cleaning or hanging around. The speaker quality definitely amazed me, it sounds great and a lot more bass/treble than I was expecting. The Google Home functions work great and this is a great substitute or replacement to run Google Home for your smart devices in your house. The only issue I have with it is that I wish it displayed temperature/date constantly.

Okay this is the big guy. I got them both, the little one for the bedroom and the big one for the living room. I swear the sound is better on the little one! There was no way I could demo it in the store so I figured I can return it, but I used points so it was almost free. Definitely a good price but if I did it again I would get two small models. But if you want sizeable, this is your man.

Though it's advertised as an alarm clock, the alarm feature is simply fulfilled by the standard Google Assistant. You can set up multiple alarms, one time or recurring with voice commands ONLY. It's not different from Google Home except it has a physical clock display. The second row is for brief temperature or sound level display. The brightness of the display can be adjusted or turned off completely. The alarm sound can't be changed according to the manufacturer but you can set up media alarm or radio alarm with Google Assistant. A song or streaming radio station of your choice will be played instead of the boring alarm sound. It draws about 5 watts when it's idle or playing at low/medium volume. The sound of this speaker is great compared to Google Home (regular sized). Price is an important factor when rating. I would give it 1 star if I bought it at list price $149.99. I'd rather buy JBL Link 20 at that price. Fortunately Best buy has it on sale frequently. 5 stars if it's on sale for $50 or less. Be aware that calling out feature is missing as it's also missing on all other third party Google Assistant speakers. And the updates are slower and less frequent than Google Home.

This is my third Google Assistant speaker. My first is the Google Home. The second was the Insignia non-portable model. I didn't need another one but purchased this on impulse at an awesome sale price. Sound wise it exceeds both of my other speakers. Another nice feature has been that it doesn't drop off my WIFI connection if I carry it anywhere within my home. A couple of days ago I noticed my non-portable model had a newer firmware version than this speaker. I could not find a manual way of updating it, so I just left it plugged in, and it automatically updated early the next morning. As I was typing this, I thought...new firmware, I wonder if voice calling was part of the update, AND IT IS! Now I believe the Insignia models have virtually all of the functionality of the Google Home! System firmware version now 310. I believe it was 306 previously.

I got this because the speaker displays the time so I can replace my clock with the speaker instead. This is a great alternative to the Google Home. I wish the temp would also display constantly but it goes away and only shows when asking Google for the temp. Also beware of the size. Looks small in picture but it's huge. Bigger than I anticipated. A smaller footprint would have been better. Nevertheless, does everything Google Home does. Love that it's portable.

So far as I have experienced, this Insignia brand portable smart speaker doors everything that my Google Home can do, at around half of the price. It looks good, and has a quality solid feel to it. Sound quality is every bit as his as the original Google Home. This one will live out in my garage, for times when I'm out there wishing in things and would like some music. I like the portability in that I will be able to unplug it and take it out back to the patio or garden area, to stream music while I work.

Wanted to replace an old alarm clock and had been looking at this item for some time. Was ready to buy and was pleasantly surprised to find the price had dropped to $34.99! With Google assistant, time display and good sounding speaker, what a buy! Set up was very easy after getting the Google Home app on phone. I can listen to my Spotify music by just asking. One reviewer had problem with the time not being accurate. He must not have used the Google Home app! As I said, set up was a breeze!

The price of this speaker line has dropped considerably and I purchased the smaller versions and used them for my kids bedrooms as a speaker and alarm clock. When the price dropped on the larger version I jumped on it for my bedroom. It has better sound and is also portable. I am very happy with it, my only complaint is the lack of alarm tone options. The google assistant is okay, not on par with Alexa but at the price these are going for, you can't beat it.

At this price you are no going to get a better speaker. $45. The speaker sounds really good, and the base is also good enough. This sounds better and louder than the original google home speaker medium size $130. The only drawback it's the microphone, because it is loud, once its playing music at 100 % it will not hear you. And even without music I can see a difference on how loud I have to speak yo this one in comparison to the original Google Home speaker.

I own several Google Home, Home Mini, and Insignia Voice speakers. I have been impressed with the sound from the Insignia over the Google Home and Home Mini. I appreciate the battery that allows me to use the smart speaker anywhere that I want. The Insignia case is solid and the buttons are responsive. I like the clock and weather display on the front. I would give it 5 stars, but I feel that the Google Home has a better case design over the Insignia.

This is the larger Insignia voice assistant and it makes the already excellent small voice assistant even better. It all works the same but the sound is bigger and bolder because it has a built in subwoofer. It also has a 5 hour battery backup built in so you can move it around when needed. I now have 5 of these Insignia speakers plus 2 Google home speakers all linked together to play music throughout the house and they all sound great. I am totally pleased with these speakers.

I was looking for a second google home but I like this one more because it has a clock and its better than having a wall clock near the Tv and its a good size, the battery is good, last about 5 hours and the sound is ok, not as good as the google home but it has an adjustable bass and treble so it can get better. Over all its loud enough, its stylish, and the price isn't bad especially around the holidays. Worth the price, but wouldn't pay the full price for this unit tho.
