Bought on birthday for extra discount. Excellent deal, 161 plus change total. Best for gaming on a budget. Put a zaman cooler on it, stays close to board temperature. Happy on this purchase.

All around a good cpu. It covers all of my tasks with little struggle. Only downside is how hot it gets with the standard intel cooler.

Six cores of delicious butt-kickery delivering 2.8 GHz across each core that turbos up to 4 GHz. Insane performance for its price, vast improvement over the previous generation, and by far one of the best values for a CPU you can find -- that is, until Cascade Lake is released.

I have had this processor for a little over a year and a half. I paired this with a GTX 1660 and I can still play triple A titles around 120 FPS or more. I’ve never experienced thermal throttling 100% use. There is obviously better choices out there now but this is a solid CPU.

This CPU went into a new computer build for my wife. Up to now, she purchased prebuilt computers from the big name companies and was always disappointed with their performance. I have always built my own along with my sons high performance gaming computers. I said, let me build you a computer! For her, the I 5 intel 6 core was the best choice along with a SSD HD and a Asus motherboard and she could not be happier!

Have run this with GTX 1060 & RTX 2060 Super. Wonderful processor, especially given the $180 price tag, at the time.

Bought it to replace an old AMD build. I use my PC mostly for gaming, and this processor works great. It comes with a heatsink that does the work even under lots of stress. Paired with a GTX960 I´m getting 50-60 fps on most recent games in high settings.

Used this in a custom build. No issues after 18 mos of daily use. Not a gamer, but do some audio/video editing. Significantly faster than Gen 4 i5 processor.

This has been a great processor for the money. I really couldn’t be happier, the cores run supper cool and I’m confident that the stock cpu cooking fan is doing its job. Really no complaints.

NO Complaints! 6 cores/6 Threads Turbo auto boost which means i don't need to buy another motherboard to increase speed.

...and I can literally see why. My son uses it for a few games with very demanding graphics. This processor handles it with ease.

I am a graduate student majoring in Computer Science. 8400 is very suitable for some basic (or even advanced) programming. The cheapest 6-core Intel processor.

Needed a new CPU to upgrade from my old Pentium G4560. This was the perfect CPU, gives me great power, FPS in all games, and overall a great powerful CPU.

Faster than the previous i7 cpus since it has more cores. Runs fairly warm with included cooler. Recommend aftermarket cpu cooler for this.

This is far better than the i5's in Laptop's and 2 in 1's. It nails everything I have thrown at it and still has plenty of power left.

This Intel CPU works great and includes a fan from Intel. Very Nice for the money I paid .
