Good CPU, but Intel is losing their mind
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good processor, but really no different than the i5 8600k. The 9600k "apparently" uses solder between the IHS and the die, so theoretically you should be able to get slightly lower temps at around the same speeds vs the i5 8600k. But if you're buying an unlocked CPU, you either plan on overclocking it and already have a good cooler, OR there's no reason to buy an unlocked CPU. Intel will tell you that the base speeds and turbo speeds on the 9600k are faster than the 8600k, but that is 100% deceit. The 9600k just comes a little overclocked from the factory. An 8600k should be able to perform the exact same as a 9600k, just maybe at 1-2 degrees hotter. If you are maxing out your CPU, then the 9600k *might* give you a 4-5% increase in speeds overall. I am tired of Intel failing to deliver NEW products on time. It is just delay after delay after delay, and then when a new generation of CPU's does finally come out, there's nothing new about them: they're the same 14nm technology chips with their clocks bumped 100-200mhz from the factory. AMD is already releasing 7nm tech as we speak, and Intel hasnt even released 10nm yet. They just keep delaying everything and selling us the same products with new labels and higher price tags, causing a shortage in mainstream Intel powered laptops and computers and thus jacking up the prices for us consumers and lowering the margins for PC companies. Go with AMD. They are faster, cheaper, more technologically advanced, and will soon replace Intel as the "standard CPU" . Again, this is a good CPU, but you can get much more bang for your buck if you go with AMD.

Best Budget CPU
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When looking for a budget computer, I had a choice to go AMD Ryzen or Intel and I choose to go Intel and give it a shot. I was really surprised by the load times been very minimal for a low end CPU. I gave 5 out of 5 stars because I still have no complaints about it

So far, flawless
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.IMO Intel seems to be one of the most dependable companies around. AMD makes great processors too but these I5s are power efficient work horses. I usually get 10 years + out of these with a quality mother board.
