Good processor for everyday computing.

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Like most I have been stuck at home during the covid 19 lockdown. Looking for something to do I decided to see what I could put together for a decent price that I could dedicate for working on my 3D printing and modeling design projects in Fusion360 . I chose the i5 processor and MSI motherboard as I felt it would meet the demands of the tools required for this work. So far I am very pleased that it has lived up to the tasks intended. I assembled it on a simple vertical open framework and gives it a very Maker like appeal as well.

Trust intel
|Posted .For a while I researched and debated between the 9600k, 9700k or Ryzen 7 2700x for my new build and I decided to give this a shot. I’m using a Corsair h100i pro and temps are mid 40c in gameplay, although I have not overclocked yet this thing is a beast and I just know the right decision was made. So if for gaming you are building for go for Intel i5 9600k, I’m glad I did.

Great upgrade from 6600k

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I’ve had my z270 board with my 6600k for a while, and 4 cores wasn’t cutting it enough. Instead of going for an i7 7700k with 4 cores and 8 threads, went ahead and sprung for this along with a z390 board. Overclocked to 5.3GHz on a Corsair 240 aio. Temps stay at 35C idle and don’t go over 70C while under stress tests. Loving it!

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:Price, SpeedGreat CPU for gamers in general. Can't really fend for workstations. Purchased with the CPU/Motherboard bundle sale they were offering and got it for a great price. So far so good! Speeds are excellent and have not disappointed me. Don't forget this does not come with a stock cooler. Must buy your own. I also wouldn't recommend the intel stock one either. Paired with a Master Cooler EVO 212 Black Edition

Q: QuestionI got a question this cpu is 9th gen will it support ASUS Intel PRIME B360M-A Socket LGA 1151 DDR4 Micro ATX Motherboard (90MB0WQ0-M0EAY0)?
Asked by Saucedo.
- A:Answer Hi Saucedo, great news, your Asus motherboard 90MB0WQ0-M0EAY0 is compatible with the Intel Core I5-9600K as they both use the LGA 1151 socket. Just so you are aware it will be compatible with all Intel 9th generation processors should you decide to look at Intel Core I7 or Intel Core I9 processors as well. Looking at the specs for your motherboard it also has multiple M.2 slots which will allow also install Intel Optane memory. Intel Optane memory will help reduce boot and load times, and help accelerate launching your favorite programs so everything feels faster and more responsive. Thank you for choosing Intel.

Q: QuestionWill a core i5 9th gen work with a GeForce RTX 2070 super? Is it good enough to handle that kind of gpu?
Asked by SillyWilly.
- A:Answer Hi SillyWilly, although the Intel Core i5 would work you may run into some possible bottlenecks. So we recommend you pair the GeForce RTX 2070 super with an Intel Core i7 processor to avoid bottlenecks and to get the most out of your build. Thanks for choosing Intel.

Q: Questionwill this work with a b150a gaming pro motherboard?
Asked by rugrat4x.
- A:Answer HI rugrat4x, your MSI B150a motherboard unfortunately is not compatible with the Intel Core i5-9600K processor since it uses an older B150 chipset that is only compatible with 6th generation Intel Core processors. For the Intel Core i5-9600K processor you will need a motherboard with the LGA 1151 socket and 300 series chipset. Best Buy does sell compatible motherboards which you can check out here https://www.bestbuy.com/site/computer-cards-components/motherboards/abcat0507008.c?id=abcat0507008&qp=processorsocketsv_facet%3DProcessor%20Socket~Socket%20LGA%201151 I also recommend Intel Optane memory which will help make you system more responsive from faster bootups, to faster launching of your most used files, applications and games. Check out https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/architecture-and-technology/optane-memory.html to learn more about Intel Optane memory. Thank you for choosing Intel.

Q: QuestionI was wondering if this cpu would be sufficient for streaming while gaming. Or should I go with something with more cores such as the i7-9700?
Asked by Kiljoy723.
- A:Answer Hi Kiljoy723, for streaming while gaming I would recommend something with more cores. If you already have a motherboard with the LGA1151 socket I would recommend the Intel Core i7-9700 processor. If you also have to get a motherboard then I would recommend the Intel Core i7-10700 which also adds hyperthreading which Best Buy has here https://www.bestbuy.com/site/intel-core-i7-10700-10th-generation-8-core-16-thread-2-9-ghz-4-8-ghz-turbo-socket-lga1200-locked-desktop-processor/6411495.p?skuId=6411495 Thank you for choosing Intel.
