Great! Hard to recommend in the face of 12th gen

I purchased the 10900K Prior to the release of Intel's Twelfth gen processors. It is a GREAT High-End Option, However it is ill-advised to be purchasing this CPU brand new since the release of the 12600K/12700K. In terms of Performance you will find that it is similar to a 12600k~ At a bit higher of a price, if you can find this CPU used, or a Cheaper used motherboard you can have a great option as well, but you will lack some features 12th Gen has like PCIE 4.0. Personally my 10900K can reach 5.0ghz Easily when overclocked, and only draws 200 Watts at peak usage and can easily be cooled by a 280mm AIO or a tower cooler when overclocked. General verdict its a great option but ill advised to purchase new in the face of the 12600k/12700k.

Bought this processor for a build using the Z490 Aorus Master motherboard. Chipset & socket match on paper and all websites. Processor came with the wrong socket.

Very excited to give this cpu as a gift and then my brother toldme that the box was already opened, not seal and the processor looked used, damaged, we went to the store to returned it and ordered a new one and guess what? Same issue. Im assuming that a lot of people are returning this cpu after AMD’s announcement but its not fair that we have to pay for used cpus when we really want a brand new intel sealed cpu box.

The supply problems with this chip are just ridiculous. Intel sold more to scalpers than to actual consumers. AMD and Nvidia are not having these problems, as they actually anticipate demand prior to releasing chips. At this rate, I'll be stuck with a dead processor, while AMD launches their next gen chip. Hoping Intel isn't giving up on this line.
