Great Gaming CPU
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have the i9 11900K, got it on "Rocket Lake" release day, specifically for gaming as I wanted something new on the market. I since got the Asus Z590e Mobo, 32Gb 3600Mhz ram and Asus Tuf 3090 OC GPU. I just finished my build and my initial assessment is very good. Yes, it's fast and CAN certainly overclock. It does warm up a bit when pushed past 4.88Ghz. Can sit @ 5.1 all day whilst I'm on Microsoft Flight Simulator. Gives me very high FPS for MSFS around 45-60 over NYC,London,Tokyo... Not bad at all for a CPU. My previous PC that I still have is with the i9 10900K with Asus Tuf 3080 OC. And it performs well to but does bottleneck a bit more than the i9 11900K so in conclusion this is a very fast CPU, It does heat up so NO air cooling whatsoever, water cooling is a must. It overclocks well up to 5.3 max. I'm happy with the i9 11900K.

AMD offers better solutions - if you can find one in stock. Do buy this if your main goal is to have maximum FPS in games and VR. There is nothing on the market right now that outperforms this CPU when paired with 30 series GPU. You will have an edge in FPS over 5950x running this CPU - at fraction of the price. Don't buy into negative hype designed to draw eyeballs with sensational nonsense benchmarks. Watch side-by-side game-play videos where 11900k clearly beats 5950x.
