I upgraded from an Intel i7 7700k to this processor and it's day and night difference for speed and CPU load when gaming. I game in 2k resolution and this purrs while doing so. Definitely recommend an AIO cooler for it!

This CPU was part of a new build I just finished. This is by far one of the fastest CPUs I’ve personally worked with. My build currently has this i9, 64gb DDR5 RAM, 850w PSU and 6700xt GPU. With this setup, I am getting up to 175fps games like Racing Dirt Rally/Call of Duty. My CPU is liquid cooled, although I will say the i9 seems to run a little warmer than i5/i7, other than that - this is an extreme processor that is ready to handle anything thrown at it.

Expensive, Very Quick... Hot with stock/auto settings. I have this paired with the MSI Edge WiFi DDR4 and 32gb (2x16) of DDR4/3600 CL16. Running stock settings, my MSI board had load temps of 1.300v. Thus, Cinebench R23 was getting into the mid-90's after a few cycles. My cooler is the dual fan/heatsink Noctua NH-D15 chroma with NT-H1 paste and using the appropriate Noctua LGA 1700 mounting kit. I adjusted the CPU voltage to 1.225 on LLC Level 4, changed P-Cores to 2x53, 4x51 and 8x50 with P-Cores to All at 40x, 30 mins of CineBench R23 the P-Cores averaged 70-71-75-76-76-78-78-79. E-Cores averaged 70c-72c. The load Vcore reading was 1.210. CPU Package Power averaged 217w. No WHEA errors or BSODs. Not only overclocked, but doing it at significantly reduced temps and power. Score was 28,400. There's still some headroom left, but this was my first quick attempt. Overall, this chip is overkill. An i7-12700K will suffice and save you $200. If you have the extra money to spare, buy it.

Intel is back! The tech behind this cpu is the first time in the desktop world that intel has changed since 2015 and it shows. Finally intel is back on the top of the charts again and I hope this trend continues between intel and AMD. These Alderlake cpus are the ones to buy right now (you dont need a DDR5 board) if you are looking for a top tier gaming/workstation PC. That might change in the future but right now these are the cpus to get. This is the top tier gaming cpu and trades blows with AMD cpus priced above it.

The i9 12900k does run a bit hot so an AIO is suggested to cool it down. I went with a 360mm because 240mm didnt quite get the cooling down to what I would like. Combined with DDR5, you get really fast speeds and if you can find it, get the 6000mhz ram. I am running Win11 and everything runs so fast. Adobe is a breeze and browsing is instant. I have 1gig internet speeds so streaming in 4k is flawless. At the time of purchase DDR5 was a bit expensive so keep that in mind when doing an i9 12900k build. Otherwise, if you need an upgrade. This is the CPU upgrade you need.

Was waiting for this processor to come out this year and it didn't disappoint. Immediately purchased and have been running it for a few weeks now. Requires a lot of cooling but is blazing fast and well worth it. Redefines the price/performance bracket combined with the 12600k/12700k. Glad intel is bringing competition back after stagnating for so long as it can only be good for the consumer.

Absolutely love this CPU. It handles everything I throw at it with ease. They have a tendency to run on the hotter side, so I'd recommend getting a kraken x63 280 rad to cool it. Phenomenal combo. Would highly recommend to anyone interested in purchasing a new CPU. This thing is an absolute monster.

The i9 12900K is an extremely fast processor. The K denotes that it has an integrated graphics processor utilizing the Intel graphics UHD 770. This CPU chip does not come packaged with any cooling devices so you will need to find a solution for the high temperatures that it generates. A large AIO or heat sink/fan will do. I paired my CPU with a Noctua NH-D15 heat sink. Temperatures are 20 Celsius at idle and 65-75 Celsius while heavy lifting. Awesome combo.
