Was waiting for this processor to come out this year and it didn't disappoint. Immediately purchased and have been running it for a few weeks now. Requires a lot of cooling but is blazing fast and well worth it. Redefines the price/performance bracket combined with the 12600k/12700k. Glad intel is bringing competition back after stagnating for so long as it can only be good for the consumer.

The i9 12900K is an extremely fast processor. The K denotes that it has an integrated graphics processor utilizing the Intel graphics UHD 770. This CPU chip does not come packaged with any cooling devices so you will need to find a solution for the high temperatures that it generates. A large AIO or heat sink/fan will do. I paired my CPU with a Noctua NH-D15 heat sink. Temperatures are 20 Celsius at idle and 65-75 Celsius while heavy lifting. Awesome combo.

Very fast but a weird chip overall. Has 2 sets of cores and ended up disabling the slower cores. Thing gets SCARY hot even under water. Could not recommend this to anyone using air unless you plan very light use. I can get close to the TJM under heavy loads. My 9900k overclocked was about 20c cooler under load. It is designed to run this hot so no negative stars but buyers beware, you will probably throttle under heavy load.

Absolutely love this CPU. It handles everything I throw at it with ease. They have a tendency to run on the hotter side, so I'd recommend getting a kraken x63 280 rad to cool it. Phenomenal combo. Would highly recommend to anyone interested in purchasing a new CPU. This thing is an absolute monster.

I use this on my desktop and use it for engineering work, gaming, and 3d artwork. it's amazing how fast it is compared to my previous i7 6700k. it can get a bit hot but I got a 360mm AIO and it keeps it cool even with tuning it in intel XTU to run at 5.3Ghz(P), 4.2Ghz(E), and 4.2Ghz(ring). keeps my 3080 utilization at 100%

This processor is lightning fast and handles multiple applications with ease. As someone who enjoys playing games on their computer, I've been particularly impressed with the seamless gaming experience that this processor provides.

Intel is finally back. For most well made new games you're not going to be CPU limited, but for older games and some newer poorly optimized games this just outperforms AMD by an enormous amount. Compared to my 5950X I'm getting double the fps in certain situations in games like Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition, Fallout 4, The Outer Worlds, GTA5, etc. It actually runs surprisingly cool at idle and in games. The thinner die does seem to help with heat transfer. However at full load when running Handbrake for H265 rendering the power draw and temps are insane.

Super fast, overkill?? Totally.. Worth it? Heck yes!. I also purchased a Z960a pro board from Best Buy at the same time as it still accepts DDR4, found that all the coolers best buy stocks do not support LGA1700, I had to purchase a cooler online to get something supportive. but make sure you have enough cooling. this bad boy gets warm!

this version of the i9 is really good. it's almost like you're going to buy a car, then turns out you have a jet engine built into the car. played starfield and it was running laps around my 3060 like there was no problem.

Just built a computer and this processor worked perfectly the first time. Fast, easy to install and works great. I always recommending going for more cores when possible.

Unbelievable. Go big or go home. I was with AMD for my other computer but I am glad that I went with intel for my new build since this thing is a beast. I use it majority gaming so it works so well for me. It’s not hot at all unless you have a cheap cooler. I’d recommend z73 nzxt AIO. Keeps it at 30.

Good buy during sale for only $360 with taxes. Not the latest but still a steal with this kind of price. The PC running max at 5.74 GHz and average of 4.78 GHz using Intel auto boost.

Went from an i9 10850k to this 12900k and its night and day difference. 12th gen is fast also seemed to win the silicon lottery with it.I def recommend this chip but make sure you get at least a 360mm cooler cause shes hot

nice chip for price -- I used to speed upwards of $900 for new 286 and 386 chips -- system is nice and peppy, and if what I am seeing is correct, the cpu speed actually slows down to only use what is needed -- very happy

This processor is my first i9 and i really love its performance. Just make sure you have a good cpu cooler cause this thing runs super hot.

Excellent CPU, but it does require proper cooling.

An extremely capable CPU, whether for gaming or for workloads. It does generate a good amount of heat, I would recommend getting an AIO cooler.

This processor works great. I have a Corsair 3 fan cooler on it. It runs all my games with zero issues. Highly recommend to anyone trying to upgrade their PC

Amazing cpu. Gives tangible gaming boosts and is pretty much top of the line consumer cpu. I used it to play games and do some basic 3d modelling.

Great CPU for the money, it is very power efficient and does not throw a lot of heat compared to the 11900k chips.
