Wanted something to go with my 5090 and this did not disappoint. Runs a little hot so I strongly suggest you get a really good cooler

So far intel hasn't let me down until I got this cpu. Only inconvenience that I had was unreal engine 5 games wouldn't load in due to overvolting and thermal throttling of the cpu. A simple bios update solved all the issues and I haven't had any issues since then. When playing games or multitasking it has been superb especially using Intel XTU to tune the cpu to desired specs and allow the cpu to get maximum performance under my cooling system. Pros: Super fast processor (base speed) Intel XTU tuning unlocked even more speed multi-tasking performance Cons: CPU overheats due to voltage overload (UPDATE BIOS)

This processor is a BEAST! Intel is really trying to push their technology to the max and they are doing it well. It runs a bit hotter than usual but that's normal for a CPU like this. I love it! :)

As someone who has recently upgraded to the Intel i9-14900K CPU from a previous generation processor, my experience has been a mix of excitement and measured expectations. First off, the performance boost in everyday tasks and specialized applications is noticeable. This CPU handles multitasking and heavy workloads with impressive ease. The single-thread performance is a standout, making it great for applications that don't utilize multiple cores effectively. In terms of gaming and content creation, the i9-14900K shines. Games run smoothly, and tasks like video editing and 3D rendering are faster, which is a significant advantage for me as a content creator. The improvements over the i9-13900K, though not groundbreaking, are still appreciable in these areas. However, there are a few caveats. The i9-14900K runs hotter and requires a robust cooling solution. If you're upgrading from a previous generation, like I did, be prepared to invest in a good cooler. The power consumption is also higher, which might be a concern for energy-conscious users. Another point to consider is the price-performance ratio, especially when compared to the i9-13900K or even some AMD offerings. The performance improvements are there, but they might not justify the cost for everyone, especially if you're already on a recent processor. The lack of substantial architectural changes from the 13th generation makes the i9-14900K feel more like a refined version of its predecessor rather than a new generation. In conclusion, the Intel i9-14900K is a powerful CPU that offers improved performance for high-end gaming and professional work. However, the incremental improvements and similarities to the previous generation might not make it a must-have upgrade for everyone, especially considering the cost and additional requirements like cooling and power. It's a great processor, but whether it's the right choice depends on your specific needs and the hardware you're currently using.

Fast as heck but the 13th/14th gen CPUs have a bug that causes games to crash or cause a BSOD. (more specifically certain UE5 games) This can be fixed if you update your motherboard's BIOS. I have a Gigabyte mobo so the issue seems to be fixed. Keep this in mind before upgrading to new CPU like this one. Apart from that hiccup, I love this thing. The performance is great!

I upgraded from an i5-12600k to the i9-14900k. What a difference. I am loving it. The boot time is less than 5 seconds. Gaming is great, with a rtx-4070ti.

It's a good chip if you need lots of threads. If that's not as important, the 14700 and 14600 are both better value for money. Additionally, motherboard manufacturers do lots of dumb things to make sure their boards perform half a percent better than competitors' offerings. The problem with this mentality is that on Intel platforms, it means they often exceed Intel's specs by a lot. In the case of both MSI and ASUS, they do not set power or current limits. This leads to excessive heat, power consumption and shortened CPU life due to degradation. If you run one of these chips, you should definitely consider setting PL1, PL2 and ICCmax to Intel's recommended values depending on your cooling.

This chip has been used for a year now, and haven’t had a single issue. For anyone weary of the overheating issues, the manufacturer presets are set wrong, and can be set in BIOS with 0 change to productivity and no worries of overheating.

I saw performance improvements in creative work and gaming, although it gets considerably toastier than my previous i7 (11700K) in similar conditions. Be ready to invest in better cooling alongside this if you're only using a fan cooler. I used a 240mm AIO cooler before and had to upgrade to a larger one to see only a slight improvement in thermals (less than 90°C spikes while gaming with the new AIO cooler).

Zips through compressed files like no other. Great Gaming performance when paired with a high end Graphics card. I’m running this on an MSI z690 Unify-X motherboard and I have no issues at all with it. It runs well. Power consumption is high but it gives my custom loop purpose. I have a 32GB kit of DDR5-7200 RAM and it runs XMP with no issues and I don’t have to make additional voltage tweaks to make it work. I wish the E-cores had less latency. If you’re moving files around you’ll sometimes see it takes the E-core a bit to ramp up and get going. This is because some of the E-Cores do not have direct access to the L3 cache.

A decent processor, though as you are probably aware at this point it does run extraordinarily hot. I am reasonably pleased with its performance however I am looking at swapping over to AMD processors at this juncture

Very powerful CPU. Will overheat overclocked to 6200mhz but it will run as fast as you can cool it. Possible safer option are the 14900KF but in research not as fast for gaming.

Before you purchase this CPU please also purchase alongside of it purchase a 360 AiO as well, this CPU is in need of it. I'm not trying to say that to scare you but it runs warm. In my (asus) bios I turned on "Disabled-Enforce all limits" so that the motherboard doesn't try to do on the fly OC to keep temps low and stability up. I haven't had any crashes or stability issues at all. I did a full platform upgrade from the 10900k to this, I kept my RTX 3080 and the performance bump was actually fully noticeable. I'd say my average temperature for doing basic computing is around 37c with my Lian Li Galahad II Trinity 360. It's a monster of a CPU genuinely and if you are in the market for an upgrade don't hesitate you won't regret it.

First of all, you need very good cooling if you’re going to run this stock, just to be safe. There are a lot of in my opinion, overblown horror stories about this cpu especially with the newer bios updates from the motherboard manufacturers. That being said, if you know what you’re doing, you can undervolt this beast of a card and still be able to use it with zero issues. Personally, I run mine at 5.5ghz and it never even reaches 60 degrees even after long gaming sessions.

It was very worth upgrading from my i7 8700K to this newer CPU. I barely get hang-ups when trying to load anything on my computer anymore and, unlike other PC parts, is reasonably priced still.

Wow, this CPU makes my head spin. There have been reports that this CPU runs hot. So, with the in mind, with no overclocking and Corsair H100I water cooling, CPU temps are 32c to 37c in very warm room under normal Windows. When playing Call of Duty, temps are barely hitting 40c. Now Lightroom is the big test with the program running without a hitch and extremely smooth, with temp running around 50c. Intel's top dog does not disappoint!!

Holy macoroni, this thing is a beast from the east... its the fastest cpu ever made... the problem is out of the box its a enthusiast cpu.. it runs extremly hot.. which means you need enthusiast cooling... out of the box it doesnt work. You have to go into the bios and change settings for it to work. Once you dial it in, its a jet going mach 10... but you need experience in the bios and experience with voltages/sa voltages...

Was a bit hesitant with the reported issues, but at least according to Intel, those have been resolved. The performance is fantastic, fast, and very good for gaming/multi-processing needs.
