Don’t worry about all the issues with intel. Literally just sync all core to 5.4ghz and you’re good. Also make sure to update your bios for the latest microcode updates!

This cpu fried my motherboard and a new one i bought. I gave it 3 stars because tohers havw used this cou and it worked fine, but for me that was not the case.

I like Intel so I pre-purchased the processor. Ended up returning it after hearing about some reviews. If you really need Intel, get the cheaper 13900k. For me, I went with the AMD 7800X3D for my gaming rig rebuild.

Great CPU if you have the proper computer set up. Buying this CPU almost guarantees that you will not stutter or lose frames in any game you play. 10/10 product. Ill have to wait for years to upgrade!

Pretty expensive CPU for only being a little faster than my 12th Gen i7 and crashing so often. Even after upgrading BIOS to get the Microcode update the damage is done and I will be getting a new CPU from Intel. If the new CPU doesn't crash I will update my review to 4 stars as it was pretty much the fastest thing out there for multi-tasked programs.

I bought this and was super excited. Immediately had instability issues out of the box, later did research and discovered all of the problems with the 14900k. I got nervous and returned the item. I learned after that if you update motherboard bios and whatnot the problems should go away. Even if they did, I didnt want to spend the amount of money for this chip to deal with any possible headaches in the future. Seemed like an unsure bet.

I purchased this CPU along with over $4,000 worth of parts to build my 4090 system. When I opened the box, I discovered it contained a 13700K instead. The managers initially tried to claim that I had swapped it out, but I know that’s not the case.
I’m writing this because I’ve now seen the same issue happen to someone else at this location—this time with a 5090. Something suspicious is clearly going on here.
I had to argue with the managers and was ready to return all $4,000+ worth of items I had opened, which would have forced them to resell everything as open-box and take a loss. After speaking directly with the store owner, they finally agreed to replace the CPU with the correct one, but only because of how much I was going to return.
Bottom line: Make sure they open the box in front of you before you leave. The only reason this situation ended fairly for me was because of the amount I had spent.

Ran the CPU within Intel specifications, never overclocked and it degraded within 4 months of use. Game crashes and BSODs started to become more frequent until I had to underclock the CPU to have it stable for more than an hour at idle. Got an RMA through Intel quickly. When the CPU did work in the past it was great and as fast as I expected. Be wary of the issues with 13th and 14th gen, I just hope I won't need to keep RMAing this cpu forever.

With the newest iteration of Raptor Lake, my obsolete 13900k has been relegated to the dust bin of history. I have gained hundreds of MHz, and DDR5 stability at 8000MT/s! I can now be truly competitive at the highest levels. GG EZ.

Quality Performing Processor.
A bit power hungry but that is expected with any i9 processor. Having a good 360mm AIO can keep it running nice and cool with avg temps between 30-40c.
