i am furious. i spent all my savings to finally have a dream machine. it didn't last a year before my computer started crashing more and more until it was totally unusable. i'm not able to just get up and go to best buy whenever i want. i had to pay for another one just so geek squad could test if that was the problem. we're getting to the furious part. the members of geek squad told me that the 14th gen is known to be defective and fail and they are just hoping that the new one i bought was new enough that the issue had been resolved on it. there wasn't a whole lot i could do since for some reason computer components don't come with a warranty, even for total members, which i am, and even though i was sold a product that was known to be defective. it would certainly be bad enought if this was the end of it. geek squad testing now causes the diagnostic to fail and crash my computer during a graphics test. they said all i could do was take it home and try it out. now over half of my games crash or can't even load.
to sum up, my expensive dream machine is a piece of junk and there doesn't seem to be anyone willing to help me.

Was great until it wasn't. The one I ordered a while back was part of the massive batch of failed processors. Just got done getting my RMA submitted and approved. Now 7 days until I get back to a working home computer - will update review afterwards to consider the replacement's performance.

Instability. Again. Unreal. Built a new pc in October of 23. 13900k/4090. Absolute beast of a pc. 6 months later 13900k was showing signs of instability. Updated bios blah blah did all the things. Got a refund from Intel, went and bought this 14900k…was good for about 3 months. Then started showing signs of instability. Took 2 months to get it refunded through Intel. Obviously went to amd 3rd time around.

Terrible processor. Regularly hits 100 degrees C. Ive RMA'd the first one i got to make sure it wasnt just me, i used 2 different CPU coolers. (Noctua DH-15 and a 280mm AIO from NZXT) Ive swapped it into my old case to be sure it wasnt air flow. This thing is just a horrible power hog for no good reason. Ive had to downclock it to get it to run at normal temps and its still insanely hot. I paid 600+ dollars to downclock my processor to be as fast as a $300 proc. Ive been an Intel fanboy for as long as i can remember but for the first time i am saying this is a giant miss, go AMD if youre just gaming.
