When I saw the specs on the mobo stating that it had Gen3 everything (USB 3.0, SATA 3, PCI-E 3.0) I was sold! My last rig was Intel based with the Asus motherboard. I am a big believer in Asus due to their quality control and ease of overclocking CPUs. I overclocked my Intel Core i5 2500K to 4.5GHz @1.310v (Overclock at your own risk) on the Corsair H60 with an additional fan for a push/pull config which keeps it at 27 c idle, 50 c at max load! My last PC died slowly from a storm that struck my house several years ago hence the upgrade! The difference is day and night in performance! It is far more responsive in gaming which is what I mainly do with this. In BF3 I average at 70 fps (everything on Ultra, no AA). If you're running a dual GPU config you will want to upgrade your CPU if you're running anything below Core i5, Phenom X6 as it will bottleneck your graphics card like it did mine. The 2500K literally doubled my frames in many games such as BF3, MW3, Skyrim, Black Ops, Starcraft 2 ect. Bottom line is that this configuration is not only absolutely amazing but also future proof for the new Ivy Bridge processor that is coming out soon. If you want to save yourself $100 and you don't need the HT (Hyper Threading) that the 2600K offers, then get this! It performs on par and if not slightly better in some games! My rig is as follows: Intel Core i5 2500K @4.5GHz w/Corsair H60 Asus P8Z68-V Pro/Gen3 Cooler Master Silent Pro M 850W Intel 520 120GB, Intel X-25M 160GB, WD Velociraptor 300 x2 RAID 0 AMD Radeon HD 6870 CrossfireX Asus Xonar Essence ST w/Sennheiser HD 650 Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz XMP 8GB Antec 900

I bought this combo for my first gaming PC build and boy was I disappointed. The processor was fine but the motherboard shipped with a bent pin. I exchanged the combo in store and asked them to ship it to my house. Finally about two weeks after the exchange I receive the new motherboard/processor combo. Low and behold, the new motherboard also shipped with a bent pin. This time I shipped the items back for a refund. I'm sure the motherboard and processor combo work fine if you don't get one with a bent pin already. There are plenty of features on the motherboard and the Intel Core i5-2500K processor is one of the best processors for the money.
