I didn't really need it. It came for free with my laptop. Once it expired though it became very annoying with it popping up and always asking me to renew.

Purchased new laptop in october along with total protection plan for mulitple computers. New laptop comes with automatic install of webroot antivirus that rolls to new subscription after six months. Since webroot is included with total protection plan original install is now redundant. Undoing the original order is a colossal headache. Not the first time we've experienced huge hassles with the administrative/billing side of Best Buy. Support is adequate when needed but highly dependent on who you talk with. Bottom line is that NOTHING IS EASY WITH THE SERVICE FROM BEST BUY but they're better than others.

why is it so difficult to contact this mystery company, I guess the protection is on my laptop but how would i know because they never contact me nor is it easy to get a hold of an actual person.

not easy to cancel subscription. this how they get you because they make you signup for automatic renewal and then don't remind you and then it is too late to cancel.

Tech support is terrible. I tried to cancel the Webroot automatic renewal when I received the email and your call in line was closed and your support center Agent Khalja could not find my account. Cancel my automatic subscription and cancel webroot and refund my card immediately. From a business perspective you may want to look at the texting back and forth between us and the total waste of time that service is. I suspect it is costing you a lot of customers. Please make it easier to cancel automatic subscriptions. Robert B

Was working well until one day it froze up my computer. I had a really difficult time uninstalling it and it took several attempts to do so.

Cancelled Webroot in 2018 and in 2019

Installed originally when I purchased my computer from Best Buy.
My computer crashed and no one wanted to help, without charges.
I cancelled Webroot at that time and never received a refund or
acknowledgement from Geek Squad!
Just got billed again for Webroot and by return email to Geek Squad cancelled again. I also notified my credit card company to not pay for this fiasco again. I tried to call Geek Squad but got 15 to 35 minute waits. I work for a living and do not have time for
this.
I once again have not heard back from Geek Squad!!
Do they do email??

I have not been able to access my Webroot that was billed and sent to me on line since the charge was put to my card in July 2019. I have made several attempts to enter the security code I have here and nothing works. They asked for my grandfathers Profession which I entered and it would not take. I have repeatedly tried to contact the store through chat and I am bounced back. Why pay for the system when it will not download and reboot the original Webroot purchase. I can never reach the GEEK squad for assistance.

This was a free product I received with the purchase of a new computer. The salesperson assured me it was a good product. When I tried to install it on the computer it wouldn't work. Spoke with the Geek Squad at Best Buy who were unable to help. Also contacted the company who stated the code provided with the purchase wasn't correct and there wasn't anything they could do. If I had paid for the purchase of this, I would have been extremely upset and followed back up through Best Buy. But since it was "free", I just purchased my old reliable McAfee.
