I have always been an astronomy buff, so of course movies dealing with it always peak my interest. This movie is one of my top 3 movies. The music by Hans Zimmer, the acting, the dream of what's out there ( this movie really gets you thinking )... and also the fact that they used every bit of info we know about black holes ( among other things ) and made them as close to realistic as possible. Truly is an amazing movie and I watch it often, I love how it gets me contemplating our universe.

    Great movie

Great movie, think of a modern day 2000 Space Odyssey. Super cool technology realistic sci-fi thriller for the first 3/4 than the last 1/4 of the movie gets a little weird. I won't spoil it but if you watched 2000 space od you know the vibe I'm talking about.

    The best film ever made!

The best Nolan films ever made! The 4K version of this movie looks phenomenal in the IMAX sequences. Not too much film grain except for on the 2.40:1 scenes. Those I feel they could have done a little better job at cleaning up.

Christopher Nolan's brilliant film portrays cosmological concepts like they've never been seen before. Visually stunning with a great cast. Video and audio are excellent. A second Blu-ray disc is loaded with bonus features.

Fantastic movie to show off your home theater. The rocket launch and wormhole scenes together with a capable subwoofer are terrifying.

Interstellar 4K Ultra Blu Ray is amazing looking and is an instant classic Sci-Fi movie that looks and sounds fantastic. The movie plot is almost true to life story of the near distance future of space travel. Highly recommend!

    "Interstellar" has it all

Even if you're not particularly interested in Sci-Fi movies, "Interstellar" is a must see for its outstanding visual excellence and soundtrack. When I watched "Gravity" in 2013, I never thought that in less than two years another movie will surpass the high bar that "Gravity" had established in outer space visuals. "Interstellar" offers a nice introduction, taking place on earth, before beginning its outer space journey. You'll get to know the characters, especially Cooper #Matthew McCaughey#, such that after an hour into the movie, you'll start to care deeply about the characters and their fates, which is yet another reason why this movie is so memorable. The cast have done an amazing job in portraying their characters in unique situations and environments. It must be very difficult and challenging to embody a character that is far away from earth on a mission to save the humankind, and I'm very happy to see talented people like Matthew McCaughey and Anne Hathaway doing such an amazing job. Overall, "Interstellar" is a breathtaking adventure that will make you think about it for days and weeks to come. It may fall short in places such as scientific accuracy, but I believe that everyone involved in the production of "Interstellar" did their best to create a great memorable movie. I highly recommend this movie, especially in high definition.

    exquisite LOVE STORY, magnificent SciFi

    Posted .

exquisite LOVE STORY, magnificent SciFi setting Christopher Nolan and INTERSTELLAR were rudely slighted in the past award season. It should have been nominated for Best Picture, Original Screenplay, Director, Cinematography, in addition to the actual nominations in the Sound, Production Design, Score and Visual Effects (winner) categories. (In a time of gratuitous green-screen/CGI-everything, all of the interior sets were practical.) First and foremost, INTERSTELLAR is an healthy and heartfelt love story - about fathers and daughters. It's about smart, capable and caring female characters (who never need to ape macho-alpha-male-ness in order to hold their own); about humanity transcending ecological/planetary apocalypse; and about immensely innovative and entertaining Nolan-esque visual and dramatic presentations of science (physics/relativity/cosmology, biology/ecology, the psychology of survival - individual and genomic) all truly in service of story. With thanks and praise for the active participation of Kip Thorne (read his fantastic companion book _The_Science_of_Interstellar_). There any many, many layers to this story, that fully merit multiple, caffinated viewings over time. There are new things to discover with each attentive viewing, I promise you. Never once was my intelligence, or my gut, abused or insulted. None of us, today, are functionally-aware five-dimensional beings, so, INTERSTELLAR is the closest you can get to thinking/feeling like one for the time being, no pun intended. There are also no glaring, stereotypical conflicts between "scientific" and "spiritual" interpretations of this film. How wonderfully deep and refreshing. You might very well notice loving homages to 2001 A SPACE ODYSSEY, among other time-proven cinematic classics, but none of that is gratuitous or a rip-off. They are respectful nods to the broad artistic shoulders that Nolan stands on today. I also think that the film was perfectly cast, from end-to-end. Can't go into that anymore without giving away spoilers. My remaining wish is that the *entire* soundtrack eventually be released on CD, not just the subset that is currently for sale. Oh, and the rumored alternate ending, too. If you missed INTERSTELLAR on the big screen (70mm IMAX film was the BEST), treat yourself to it now. Even if you did catch the theatrical engagement, there is still more to mine from every successive viewing. How cool is that? (What a TRAVESTY that BestBuy failed to stock the 2BR/DVD/UVHD "Collector's Edition" of INTERSTELLAR. Not for everyone, but a must have for FAN BOYS, like moi.)

Ok, so everyone knows what a good movie this is. Some love it, most like it and a few dislike it. Therefore, I'm not going really talk about the movie itself. I'm going to talk about how amazing this 4k disc looks. Ohhh my goodness! This is my demo disc. Absolutely gorgeous! Even if you're not super into this movie, it'd still be worth the price just to show off your awesome 4k gear!

    Sci-Fi Redbox Rental

I admit that I actually planned on renting Interstellar via the Redbox machine at my job, however it was out of stock. Fortunately, I was able to rent a copy through another redbox machine within a few miles of my apartment. Anyhow, the following movie trailers are associated with the dvd version of Interstellar; Terminator Genisys, The Gambler, and Selma. The actual movie Interstellar stars Matthew McConaughey as a farmer/astronaut named Cooper who is sent to a secret Nasa colony as part of a plan to recolonize outside of earth as the earth’s food supply is threatened. Cooper is close to his children Murph and Tom (various ages played by Mackenzie Foy, Timothee Chalamet, Jessica Chastain, Casey Affleck). Cooper teams up with a man named Professor Brand (Micheal Caine), Professor Brand’s daughter (Anne Hathaway), and Romilly (David Gyasi)to go on the Nasa Secret mission. After he leaves, Cooper’s children are initially looked after by his father-in-law Donald (John Lithgow). There are multiple strange things that happen to Cooper after he leaves such as the fact that he eventually sees that his daughter (in one of the received space communications0 is now the same age that he was when he left. Matt Damon and David Oyelowo make appearances in Interstellar as well. Oyelowo makes an appearance as a school principal and Damon makes an appearance as fellow astronaut Dr. Mann.

Greatest Movie Every Made Hands Down

First time I saw this I wasn't sure what to think. Within minutes I was hooked and by the end of this very long movie I was willing to sit for another 3 hours in this beautifully crafted world. Easily the greatest movie I have ever seen, and I see every movie that's in theaters. Very surprised/ sad/ disappointed this didn't win every award possible at the Oscars.
