Wasn't really sure what to expect from this movie at first. My fiance asked me to get it so we could watch it with the kids and I was not expecting a musical. The comedy in the movie is funny and there are a lot of quirks here and there that keep you laughing here and there.

This movie has quickly become one of my favorites. The acting is great, and the musical score is absolutely fantastic. The soundtrack is well written, unique, and flawlessly executed by the actors and actresses. The story is a unique spin on a few of the classic fairy tales that we have all come to know and love. If you are even the least bit interested in this genre, Into the Woods is a must see. Definitely deserves 5 stars!

If you are looking for a musical great...we thought it was going to be a movie based on the reviews for the kids and that was a let down (still have not read box so maybe my bad). As musical/singing goes..very good but if you want even a mix this is all singing!!

I was some what disappointed with this movie and I'm not sure why. The play was so great but somehow the movie never reached the same level of excellence even though it had a wonderful cast. If you enjoy musicals you should like the movie and it is worth seeing.

Into the Woods was good movie, I'm not always 100% interested in musicals but I can appreciate the costumes and vocals regardless. Picture quality was great, hind sight it should have been a rental instead of a purchase, but thats more because it wasn't my taste.

My family and I sat down to watch this movie having only seen one of the trailers. This movie is very long, but we were fully engaged for the whole thing! Never a dull moment. Great story, amazing music, and a very emotional tale with a solid moral foundation.

I was not aware this was a musical which I tend to be unhappy with but this movie took a enjoyable approach but had some unexpected turns which some may be uncomfortable. That is why I gave the 4 star review which is high since I am not a fan of musicals.

I love musicals and I love the classic stories this movie includes. I never saw the Broadway of this movie. So this movies concepts were all new to me. I love the way they took classic stories we all know and put a twist on it. This movie is full of action and great acting. If you are new to musicals or never seen one I would strongly suggest this movie. You also get to see the phenomenal Meryl Streep in a whole new way.

My wife loves musicals and we bought this after watching t in the theater a few times. Yes, it is worth owning and I'm someone who is not into singing movies. It takes our childhood stories like Red Riding Hood and combines them in an entertaining way.

My family was familiar with the stage play and we looked forward to seeing this movie. The characters, direction, singing were all very well done. Meryl Streep is a bewitching witch, and wow can she sing! The second act leaves out some of the first-act characters because of the limited time element. Nevertheless, this is a story that makes you think about what really makes you happy. "Be careful what you wish for."

We saw this on sale and decided to add it to our library. My little girl is into dance and musicals and loves everything Disney so was an easy pickup to add it to our digital library as well. It's kind of dark but a cool twist.

Movie was great kids and wife loved all the songs. Johnny deep was fantastic. I loved how they referenced everything into the magical world while still living up to the stories we grew old with. Definitely must watch movie.

If your in the mood for a movie with singing and a plot the brings you back to many fairy tales then this is a movie to watch. My son said he liked it and wanted me to watch it with him. Always enjoy my time with a good movie and awesome company.

One of the greatest Broadway musical of the last 15 years and an excellent transfer to Blu-ray. If you're a Sondheim fan or enjoy great musicals, this will definitely be your cup of tea. But please don't come expecting Disney pablum, you will be disappointed. This is an intricate story with a first class plot, actors and music to match. Wonderful stuff! Buy it!

This movie does a fantastic job of showing how all things are connected in the world. Five well known fairy tales link together with one common thread. Great for expanding one's viewpoint. However, some may find the ending sad or just a let down.

Item-wise, the DVD is in perfect condition. No complaints. Movie-wise, it was pretty well-done. I was disappointed in how some songs from the original musical were cut short, removed, or changed. Overall though, the movie was lovely to watch.

We watched this movie with our 12 year old grandson. Musicals are not his favorite, but the fractured fairy tale aspect of the film quickly caught his attention. Great lesson about doing the right thing. Story line was great as was the acting.

It was a unique movie. I LOVED IT. Pt's starts off with singing and doesn't stop till the movie does. It has some seriousness too it but also some very humorous scenes. At first I wasn't too sure about what I would say about this movie but it truly is good but only for people who like musicals. The reason I say this that is my husband hated it, couldn't follow along with the singing and everything.

I hope you like musicals because this is one which I didn't realize when I bought it. Just the same, it was very good and provided an interesting twist to the old fairy tales. I was surprised at some of the actors and their singing ability!

Interesting take on fairy tales. Although I wish the music was more catchy and memorable.
