This vent-mounted phone holder works well. It is very easy to dock/undock phone using one hand. It is a bit too expensive in my opinion, but gets the job done.

Due to the new Driving Law in California, I had to invest in a Car Mount as I use my GPS a lot, and can not be in a position where I am unable to use my phone at all while driving. Thankfully a friend of mine recommended this gem, and I have only had it for a couple of days, but so far it has been great. The clips that go into the vent have a strong grip, so stay attached to my air vents pretty well. I have an iPhone 7 Plus with an Otterbox case, so am pleasantly surprised to see that it has been holding up nicely despite the weight of of my phone and case. This Mount gets 2 thumbs up from me.

Had a suction cup mount, which fell multiple times. Finally gave up and bought this instead. It’s completely secure, and right next to the steering wheel. Perfect for a long drive.

After replacing several cheap vent clips that broke every few months, I finally purchased this one. Oh how much I would have saved, had I purchased this one first. It easily mounts on vertical and horizontal vents. It sets out from the vent so as not to block the air flow. It's grips are spring loaded and snap into place to hold phone. And it's sturdy.

Easy to install. On occasion, it will just fall off the vent. It doesn’t need to even be knocked over, it just did it on its own. When it does stay in the vent, it is secure and easy to see!

Great for storing phones of all sizes. Adjustable so it gives a snug fit. Only con is that the design weighs down on vent causing it to point downward.

Mostly functional, but I found that the clamp to affix the device to an air vent does not exert a lot of pressure and can occasionally release while the phone is attached. If more stability is required I would look for something with a mounting arm for a rearview mirror or powerful suction cup.

As with all vehicle mounts, it will depend on your particular car. The design is nice but I found that it was so heavy with a large iPhone plus that it pulls the vents down and had to be constantly readjusted. As an uber driver I couldn't stand the fact that the mount isn't secure enough to type without the phone moving around. I returned it and ultimately purchased an iottie dash mount which is much more secure.

I use the item to hold my phone when using as a GPS. I also use it to hold Garmin GPS. The holder rotates and clamps to vent tightly which makes it sturdy. Perfect for what I need it for. It is also easy to clamp on and remove from vent.
