I am not sure why this is getting a low review, but it's one of the better phone holder i have used. What I like the most about this phone holder is the convenience of attaching (just "stick" the phone to the holder) and removing the phone from the holder, easy peasy.
What's in the box: A magnetic phone holder with dashboard mount that has built in sticky pad, two piece metal plates (a small round one for sticking to the outside/back of your phone case, and a larger rectangular one for inside the case; they even provide a plastic protector preventing the metal plate from scratching the back of the phone, very thoughtful)
Installation: The phone holder has a sticky pad at the bottom that is used to secure the holder to the dashboard. The sticky pad base is somewhat flexible, so in my case, it is able to securely attach to my non-flat dashboard. iOttie phone holder is known for their reusable sticky pad. But, to my disappointment, this unit comes with ONE TIME use sticky pad. So think hard before you install the unit.
Usage: My iPhone 6s is able to sit very tightly on the holder, not falling or shifting even during rough ride. I use the large plate over a thick phone case and I am able to shift the phone placement quite a bit without losing confidence. YMMV
Two things I don't like about the holder is the non-reusable sticky base, and two, it is a bit pricy.... but you get what you paid for! Overall, this is a great phone holder that I will recommend to my friends. I hope this will help anyone who is still on the fence.

This works great. Strong magnets for a good hold and doesn’t fall off the dash like other products in the same line.

This holder has good grip but it requires you to put a magnet on your phone or the case, depending on the weight of your phone and thickness of your case. Personally, I don't use a phone case and my phone (Galaxy s5) won't sit on the iOttie without a magnet - which means I need to stick a magnet on the back of my phone which I don't really want to do.
Long story short - great if you have a case or if you don't and don't care about looking at the magnet on your phone then it's perfect.

You feel that both the dashboard piece and the metal behind the phone are very securely attached.
However, note that this iOttie mount is not re-usable like many others. Once you peel off the film and attach to the dashboard, you probably can't install it again when you change vehicles.
Also installing a magnet on the back of your phone is not for everyone. It can interfere with your compass, or wireless charging. You can install a bigger piece between your phone and case, or install a small just on the outside. They don't seem to damage your phone when removed.
I would recommend this if you work with your phone (like a driver for riding apps) and need something stable that won't fall during use.

As a resident of Phoenix Arizona I already had some doubts that this item would stick to the dash of my truck. I was right. When you first open the box you have to remove the plastic that is covering the adhesive. You get a warning about placing it correctly the first time because it will get stuck. So I made sure to carefully place it where I wanted it. I held it in place for about a minute but it didn't stick; it nearly toppled forward when I let go. Note that my dash was clean and I made sure to place it in the most level position I could.
It didn't stick and it only got worse the more I tried. I decided instead to put it in my cup holder since it is almost as wide as a cup and it stays in place. The bottom portion is in the holder and only the magnet sticks out.
The magnet, on the other hand, is very strong and although I have an iPhone SE I am sure it would have no problem holding up something like a Galaxy Note.
So if you want this to adhere strongly to your dash I cannot recommend this, especially if you live somewhere hot. Perhaps it works in cooler climate. Instead of adhesive I would recommend something with suction

This is a really good product! The hold is strong and looks nice. I only put the bigger metal(included plate) inside my case and it holds just fine, no need to put the little metal plate on the outside too! The only thing I didnt know was its a one time use, once you stick it, its there forever! But im not gonna move it anyway so its good!

Good product, holds itself well to the dashboard. However it's not re-usable and there is only one sticky base. I'd have to pay for an extra one when needed to move to another car.
My case is thin so it worked, but if you have a leather heavier or thicket case, you might have to use the outer magnet which is not that visually appealing.

As far as magnet goes, if you don't mind the metal thing that you will be putting behind you phone or phone's case, I think this one has a strong magnet for the use I had for it. I drive around the cities with bumps here and there and it stays on the mount very well. I guess if you center it very well, it wouldn't be going anywhere.

Small and unobtrusive. Easy one-handed operation. Sticks securely to dashboard even with only 3/4 surface used. Used in F-350 truck with no problem. Even if it did pop off, I could easily drill a hole and screw it down.

Small metal rectangle that you put between your phone and case. Adhesive circle keeps the holder in place - except when the dashboard gets really hot in the summer, then it falls off occasionally. Other than that, item works well.

During the days where temp was above 90 degrees, the mount came off the adhesive. Re mounted again. But when its really hot outside, mount come off the gel adhesive. Othweise a solid product, great strength on magnet and usability

So far so good - sticks well - movable position - easy to use - can manage heavy weight (I have an iPhone10SPlus) - I haven't tried to remove it from my car yet - a little concerned about the adhesive.

Among the best phone holders, one tiny issue

i have tired many car phone holders and this is the only one that i really liked. others would get in the way, or because i have a 7plus iphone wouldnt hold it up for a long time and cause the phone to get crooked. but this one holds it in the angle i place it for the entire ride! the part that sticks to your phone is the issue sometimes.
the plate that sticks to your phone is super low profile, but it doesnt have any texture, so eventually the plate gets very slick and doesnt grip with the rubber thats on the phone holder and then it causes the phone to lop side. only downside.

I am using this with a case designed to work with it. What that means is that my protective case is from a different supplier and has a metal disk already on the outside of the case. The magnet in the dock holds the phone and has not ever dropped it, but it 'wobbles'. I tried the metal plates that came with the dock, but that was worse once a case was added. I think the best solution for most people would be to apply the metal plate that comes with the dock to the outside of their protective case.

I am a past have been in amazing product I recently got a new car and have had some issues finding a new mount the way the car is set up it makes it difficult for any sort of mounts this one I thought may be a little bit better because it’s a smaller device but because of the width of the base needing to be hitting the dash. Still on the hunt but I would definitely recommend this product

It holds on to the phone well enough but it doesn’t have a good range of motion. If the inside of your car is flat and square it should work great for you. But most cars have lots of curves making it hard to mount and still have a good view of your phone.

This is a very good mount, the magnet has a strong hold and will hold my 7+ in an otter box vertical or horizontal without a problem. It also has a plate that fit right inside my girls pop socket which really made her happy that she didn’t have to remove it. I defiantly recommend it.
