Secure phone mount with wireless charging

I’m one of those people who’ve been going around without a phone mount in my vehicle, which meant balancing the phone on my leg when using the GPS. The new iOttie Velox car mount is the one that finally changed my ways. The Velox I got is carbon black, and looks very sleek. In the box you’ll find the mount, a car power adapter with USB-C port, and an adhesive pad to use for protecting the dashboard. The Velox can be mounted either on the dashboard or the windshield. Either way, it attaches using a very secure suction mechanism, assisted by stickiness on the suction cup. Attaching the Mount I wanted the phone to be visible, but didn’t want to obstruct my view of the road. That meant attaching it to the windshield on the left side of the steering wheel. I’ve seen people mount theirs in the middle of the windshield, but I just can’t understand blocking the view that much. Attaching the mount is very easy—just clean the chosen spot, flip up the suction cup lever, put the mount where you want it, then close the lever to secure the suction cup to the windshield. Mounting it this way is very secure. I had to move mine a few times to get into just the right location, and it wasn’t hard, but the removable adhesive actually adds a lot of strength to the grip. It does this while not leaving any residue on the glass—impressive! The phone is held to the mount by the Qi2 charging magnet. Simply line up the magnetic circle on the back of the phone with the round mount, and it snaps into place. This is very convenient for mounting and unmounting the phone as needed. The magnet seems pretty strong, but not overly so. I was concerned that hitting a bump might jar it loose, but that hasn’t happened to me yet. I have an iPhone, so the magnet lined up perfectly with my phone. I assume this would work equally well with other phones utilizing the Qi2 charging standard, as long as the magnets line up. I appreciate that the mounting magnet is covered in a soft silicone material so that it won’t scratch the phone. Charging The Velox is not just a phone holder it’s also a wireless Qi2 charger. I didn’t have the previous model, but I read that some people thought it was underpowered. This model delivers up to 15W, which is plenty to charge up an iPhone while driving around town. I have a pickup truck with its own built-in wireless charging pad, but it’s so underpowered that I never use it. With the Velox, I finally have a wireless charging pad in my vehicle that actually works! The Velox comes with a USB-C power adapter, so the power cable must be routed to the adapter. In my chosen location, it was pretty easy to route the cable behind the weather stripping in my door, then under the steering wheel to reach the center console. Other than a right turn under the dash, this was a direct route, but the 1.5 foot-long cable was too short. This is the only real negative that I encountered, and it required me to purchase an extension cable to make it work. For those mounting in the center of the dash/windshield, this cable length will likely be enough, but I don’t think my situation is unusual, so I wish that iOttie had included a longer cable. One thing to note is that the power cable is not removable, so you can’t choose to just use the mount as a phone holder. Of course, you don’t always have to keep it plugged in to power, but it might have been nice to have the choice to unplug if so desired. The power adapter was a little bit finicky, and needed to be seated just right to make it work. Once seated, however, it stays securely in place, so I don’t think this will be a problem. Charging is fast and easy, and the phone gets hot while charging, just like with any wireless charger. The magnet mount does include ventilation holes, which is good because mounting near the windshield like I did can put the phone in the sunshine, which will add to the heat produced by the charger. Something to keep in mind. Conclusion I’ve had other iOttie mounts (not with chargers), but this one is my favorite. I started my review saying that I didn’t have a mount, which is true because my previous mount stays in a drawer in my house. The new Velox will stay permanently in my truck, as the new location for my phone while driving. I can be confident that it will hold my phone securely and charge it without my having to fish out a charging cable that will only get in my way. The Velox is a great option if you’re in the market for a mount plus charger, and iOttie priced this new one at the same price as their other similar models.

This is a very good dashboard and windshield car mount. My old one had a MagSafe ability and wanted the same for my smart phone. This one by iOttie is very good at the MagSafe portion but I did notice some limitations on this. First off, this is a very solid build With 2 two hinges, you are able to adjust the height and can rotate the neck area for your phone. The neck can extend but it is very short, a few extra inches of extension which is a little disappointing. The hinges can be tightened which prevents it from accidentally dropping or moving. The charging ability is a very nice addition to this. It connects via usb-c cord. As most vehicles these days have a usb-c port, this is almost a must when using. If the vehicle does not have that IO option, this comes with a plug in for the auxiliary power outlet. It charges fast but I have noticed my phone getting a little warm. Only when I absolutely need to charge it or connect it to my car’s infotainment system for hands free would I use it. Suction ability is where I feel this does fall a little short. It comes with the ability to mount on the dash or on the windshield. For the dash set up, it has a flat disk that you install first. You do need to leave it on the dash for about 20 minutes first and allow the adhesive strip to really bond with the dash before it becomes effective. I made the mistake of not doing it too long, and when I tried to stick the mount, it feel down. You also need to be aware of where you install it on the dashboard as most dashes are not completely flat, so you have to find that flat spot. Mine was located near the middle behind the info center on my minivan so I do have to make a reach to use it. Thus, I wish the neck extended a few more inches than the current maximum. After waiting 20 minutes and retried it, it worked really well. The window installation is really simple and effortless and hangs well. Overall, this is a very good car mount for your smart phone. I do wish that the next extended more since most vehicles have odd shaped windshields and dashboards. I like the charging ability on this but it does warm up my phone. It works well and I am happy for that.

Strong hold, adaptable design, 12v adapter issues

The iOttie Velox Qi2 charging mount is a nice strurdy design that offers customization and works for both a dash mount and in a windshield. The arm articulates slightly and extends so you can make it fit your viewing space pretty well, without being one of those flimsy bendable mounts that always shake around quite a bit. As a Qi2 charger it's capable of charging Apple's MagSafe compatible iPhones at 15W and any new Android phones that eventually support this standard. I used an iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone SE 2nd gen, and Galaxy S22 Ultra with this mount. With the iPhone 13 Pro, MagSafe got a very strong hold and I wouldn't hesitate to use this mount in the car. For the other devices, MagSafe isn't natively supported but I wanted to get an idea of the charging speeds. The iPhone SE 2nd gen maxed out at 7.5W charging speed (pulling 10W from the charging port) while my S22 Ultra could only manage a disappointing 5W (pulling 6.8W from the port). I've read this is an issue for Samsung devices on Qi2 chargers - they only support the lowest Qi2 profile so that's all you can get. So, using the iOttie Velox Qi2 with a MagSafe 'sticker' or case is only an option if you are ok with very slow charging speeds. The only major issue I have with the product is the strange design of the 12v adapter (cigarette lighter plug). It's got a wider, shorter nub on the end than you'd typically see. It didn't work in one of the ports I tried, no matter how much I twisted it around or pushed on it to see if it would power up. Didn't really matter because I have plenty of USB-C cig lighter plugs that work fine for this purpose and I imagine lots of people do as well. I'll include a pic with the review. #Final thoughts: who is this for?# If you've got a recent iPhone model that supports MagSafe, this is a perfect choice. For Android fans, you'll need to wait for Qi2 compatibility to come to phones before I would consider this as an option. Hopefully that will be a big thing by early next year as the big flagship phones from this summer don't have it.

Overall, I like this window/dash mount for my iphone. I connected it to my windshield, and it stayed in place even over bumpy roads. The phone also stayed connected as the magnate is pretty strong. They also included a dashboard pad mount. I opted against using this as I do not like sticking things to my dashboard for fear of messing it up, but it's nice that its included. The mount is also very customizable and adjust in multiply ways. The arm adjustment is a little tough and you have to really unscrew it to make it easier to adjust. Not a bad thing as the arm did not move while driving making it easier to see and use the phone. Charging works great and charged my phone pretty quickly using the included cigarette lighter adapter. I'm going to be nitpicky but I dislike that the cable cannot be removed and is hardwired to the charging base. I think it would have been better if it had a USB connection so you could unplug it if needed. Secondly the cable just dangles down from the charging pad. It would have been nicer looking if the cable ran through the adjustable arm and came out the bottom back of the holder. I also use this holder for my desk. The suction cup sticks to my desk and I'm able to plug it into a charging block or into my computer and have my phone charge. So, it's not just necessarily for your car but can also function to hold your phone at your desk. Nice device that works well and will be great for travel as it can charge the phone, mount to a desk, or mount to a windshield of a car.

Excellent wireless Qi2 phone car mount

The first thing you'll notice about the iOttie Velox Qi2 is its sleek and modern design. The mount feels solid, with premium materials that give it a high-end look and feel. The design is compact, ensuring it doesn't obstruct your view, whether mounted on the dashboard or the windshield. The suction cup is powerful and ensures that the mount stays firmly in place, even on bumpy roads. This has always been the key feature for me when I look for a car phone mount, as in the past I’ve bought mounts that did not hold tightly and would fall down; this was especially true of the mounts that relied on placement within the car’s dashboard air vents. One of the standout features of the Velox Qi2 is its wireless charging capability. With Qi2 technology, it delivers fast and efficient charging to compatible devices. No more fumbling with charging cables while driving—just place your phone on the mount, and it starts charging instantly. The charging power is consistent and reliable, making sure your phone is juiced up when you reach your destination. Installation is a breeze. The suction cup adheres strongly to both the dashboard and windshield, and the mount arm is fully adjustable, allowing you to find the perfect viewing angle. The magnetic mounting system is strong enough to hold your phone securely, yet easy to attach and detach with one hand. This is particularly useful for those quick stops or when you're in a hurry. With the iPhone 14 model I tested, the MagSafe case I used with it was able to securely be mounted to the Velox Qi2. The Velox Qi2 is compatible with a wide range of devices, including the latest smartphones equipped with wireless charging capabilities. It’s designed to work seamlessly with most phone cases, so you don’t have to remove your case every time you mount your phone. Safety is a priority, and the iOttie Velox Qi2 doesn’t disappoint. The mount ensures your phone is securely fastened, reducing the risk of it falling or sliding around, which can be a distraction while driving. The adjustable arm and 360-degree rotation allow for optimal placement, ensuring your phone is always within reach but never in the way. While the iOttie Velox Qi2 is nearly flawless, a couple of minor points could be noted. Users with very thick phone cases may find the magnetic hold slightly less secure or not hold at all, but this is a common issue with most magnetic mounts. The iOttie Velox Qi2 Wireless Dashboard & Windshield Car Mount is a top-tier product that delivers on all fronts—design, functionality, and ease of use. Its robust construction, strong magnetic hold, and efficient wireless charging make it a must-have for anyone looking to enhance their driving experience.

Kinda Wireless, high quality phone mount

IOttie makes some high quality 3rd party smart phone peripherals. I already have a MagSafe phone and AirPods charger from them and it works great with my iPhone 15 Pro Max so I definitely jumped wanted to check out their car mount. The mount itself is high quality and works as you would expect. There’s an adhesive backed mounting plate that attaches to the top of your dash, a suction base and arm, and a magnetic gimbal with the usb-c Qi2 charging pad. The charging pad is soft and won’t scuff your phone if you don’t have a case and if you do have a case the magnet and charging elements are strong enough to still be effective. To install, just loosen the twist knob on the gimbal to attach it to the ball head on the base, then tighten it to the tension you need. You can fix the head position or give it some room to twist around and adjust. For my car, the top of the dash had a visor lip that slopes up so I couldn’t use the adhesive base unfortunately so I had to use the suction cup directly to the windshield. Loosen the tab on the base then click into place to suction on the window after cleaning it with Windex or rubbing alcohol. This results in a solid connection but I think over time it will get loose with weather changes so you will want to reattach it before your phone falls off. There is a nice rubberized usb-c to usb-c cable from the Qi-2 charging pad, so it’s not quite wireless. It is wireless to the phone but you have to route and conceal the wire down your dash to your plug. I only have usb-a ports near my dash and no 120v so I won’t get full charging speed of Qi2. The fix is easy enough just get a usb-a to usb-c plug adapter. It would’ve been nice if they included this but I already had a few so no biggy. It also comes with a nice sleek looking 120v cigarette to usb-c adapter but as mentioned I don’t have a 120v port near my dash. Overall this is great even though I have CarPlay in my car, I still like to see the phone mounted and it’s also nice for my wife for long road trips. Highly recommend!

    An excellent wireless charger

I'm actually getting this Velox Mini Qi2 wireless charger for passenger use.  My wife and I both have iPhones and take numerous long trips. I thought I'd surprise her with her own wireless charging station.  I actually have been using the iOttie Qi2 Wireless vent mount for quite some time now.  I liked it so much I thought I'd get another, but not another vent mount. For her I wanted a dash or windshield mount (ultimately let her choose).  We both use our phones with simple clear MagSafe compatible cases, Having used the iOttie MagSafe charger for some time now, I know the magnetic holding force is strong enough to be used with the cases we use.  I first set up the dash mount indoors to verify it would do the trick before final car installation.  The mount comes with a flat mounting plate for dash use (even if your dash is flat).  It also has a washable sticky suction cup (think nano tape), that has superb adherence on its own, add the suction cup and it is an extra strong hold.  The neck of the phone holder and also be extended out an additional 2" (the shaft is 3" long).  This flexibility should assist in tricky mounting situations or if you have a large windshield (truck).   The Qi2 chargers supply 15W of wireless charging, meaning they charge twice as fast as the original Qi chargers (7.5W).  This Dash/Windshield mount is quite clever. The Qi2 charging pad is a soft rubber, the back can be turned about +/-40 degrees, and then locked in place (this allows the cord to go any direction).  The base also swivels and locks in place.  The suction cup is controlled by lifting the fount up, and pressing it down (it takes some force to get to lock).  But once in place it is very stable.  The charger required a USB-C port (a USB-A to C adapter can be used to convert - not supplied).  The charger works very well, but the phone does get warm when charging.  But now I've simplified our long trips by having a second wireless charging point.  Ready to hit the road.

Well-made wireless phone charging car mount

My old car phone mount finally gave out on me after years of abuse and the new iOttie Velox Qi2 wireless dashboard and windshield car mount for mobile devices was a welcome upgrade compared to the old faithful phone mount I previously had in my truck. With the new Velox, it even has the additional feature of being able to wirelessly charge my phone without plugging it in using the latest Qi2 technology that works with both my Qi2 enabled Android phone and my wife’s Magsafe Apple phone. With that new technology comes up to 15 watts of charging power which is great for wireless charging however still not up to wired charging tech but still gets the job done. Since my truck, along with most other trucks and SUVs, has a large dash and windshield that makes it difficult to find a compatible phone mount where you can actually reach your device, the Velox offers a telescopic arm that can extend from 4” to 6.75” that can also rotate for easy adjustments after mounting with a ball joint on the end for even more slight tilts which makes it handy for those pesky sun glares. If you’re a fan of doing a dash mount instead, the Velox also comes with a dashboard pad you can stick to most level surfaces. The reusable suction cup at the base of the mount is super sticky so you know it will remain in place regardless of how good of a seal you get. There are also ventilation holes on the mount that help cool the mount in hot cars which is another great feature since I live in an area that can reach over 100 degrees for several days throughout the summer. Overall I have been impressed with the mount thus far and hopefully it holds out as long as my previous, non-charging, phone mount.

Ok. Wireless car chargers are nothing new. So what does the Velox Mini Qi2 Magnetic Wireless Charger offer which other chargers before it offer? Well, there are several things that the Velox can offer prior to its predecessors. First is the charging capability. Most early magnetic wireless chargers have rating of 5 watts. That is very slow by today’s standard. Of it naturally followed suit that a 10 watt charger would be the norm. But these technologies tend to overheat. Then years later Velox comes out with a 15 watt charger. And after using it for a week, I have noticed that charging speeds were more of acceptable levels though the baseline is for 20 watts or higher for iPhones. Next would be the margnetic capanilities of this charger. And though this is not labelled as MagSafe compatible, it is in fact compatible. I am guessing legal issues are being considered here. But what engages me most is that the magnetic strength of this charger. Even with a thick case, the magnetic strength is strong enough to hold my phone without falling everytime I hit a speed bump. My old wireless charger does that. Design wise there not much to btag about as it is shaped as your usual wireless magnetic charger with suction cup. One thing to note though is that its arm is extendable making the view angles way better. I can’t much more about this charger but to give it high praises. I would recommend this definitley.

So far I have found many things I like about this magnetic wireless phone car charger. I have compared it to many "generic" magnetic phone mounts, and it does have a higher quality feel to it. It comes with a telescoping arm with a suction cup. It features three points of articulation which makes it very versatile when mounting to your windshield. The suction cup also features a very sticky surface that helps keep it on your windshield without falling off. The only downside to it is that relocating it is very difficult. The magnetic charging element has a built in cable with a USB type C end that connects to an in included DC charging adapter for your vehicle. This is nice as most generic chargers include a cable but not the charging adapter. After only a few days of use, the adapter literally fell apart when I tried to unplug it from the car's socket for the first time. It fell apart really bad too, see my included photo. The only good thing is that I have several car adapters that I can plug this into so I was able to continue to use it. The magnetic mount itself is very strong, much stronger than it's generic counterparts. My phone never came off it, regardless of bumps. I even took it on a nine hour each way road trip. It charges the phone perfectly, even while using my maps for navigation. Overall, the phone charger works very well, however the adapter is very cheap and fell apart. I still think it was worth picking up as it outperformed all of my generic magnetic phone chargers for my car.

Easy installation and an effective Magsafe charger for IOS devices. The Qi2 comes with two options for mounting. You can use the suction cup and attach directly to the windshield, or, if you are in a similar situation as me, where the windshield is too sloped and far away to use as a mounting point, you can use the included base mount with 3M tape, stick it to the dash, and then use the suction cup to attach the Qi2 to it. The suction cup is quite strong. After I attached the adhesive base to the dash and then attached the suction cup to it, I had no issues with it falling off. Even on bumpy roads the iPhone stayed attached without any problems. Charging works good on it. I haven’t had any issues with the Qi2, it has functioned perfectly and makes it easy to have my iPhone right up at eye level on the dash and I can view the screen while driving around. The cord is plenty long, and has a cigarette lighter adapter. The Qi2 looks really nice, works well, and charges my phone without a problem. Highly recommended.

👍 THE GOOD: ▪️ Works on either Windshield glass or Dashboard ▪️ Setup is easy, instructions are clear on the included booklet. ▪️ Dashboard pad is included so you don’t damage your dashboard ▪️ Sturdy rigid design means it isn’t going to wobble. ▪️ Strong magnet so your phone shouldn’t fall off as long as you’re using MagSafe / Qi2 supported devices. ▪️ Telescoping arm + 260 degree arc + ball joint means extra versatility for mounting. ▪️ Included USB-C Car charger ▪️ 15W Charging 👎 NOT SO GOOD: ▪️ Mildly inconvenient but necessary: if using dashboard pad, must wait 20 minutes before installing the mount for best reliability. ▪️ Rotating the arm across the arc is a bit difficult. ▪️ Charging cable is integrated, so it’s non-replaceable. 🧐 OVERALL The iOttie Velox Qi2 is a good MagSafe & Qi2 compatible car mount. The durable design ensures that it doesn’t wobble, and it provides versatile mounting options for windshields and dashboards. And with a peak power of 15W, it’ll keep your phone charged while secure.

Very functional, love it!! I read the reviews and some people stated the phone falls but I realized why. You need to remove your phone case so that the magnet can grab your phone. It’s easy to install just follow the instructions. Comes with built in phone charger which is a plus! It holds my phone for a hands free driving experience while charging it too. I ordered one for my mom since she loved it too but it doesn’t work with IPhone 6 (I have a IPhone 13) so make sure you check compatibility. Other then that works great for me.

For those of us without CarPlay, a phone car mount is a great accessory to have. You definitely should not be looking down at your phone balanced on your leg (or even worse on your hand!) while driving. Also, these days, I know alot of people like to ride share as a full or part-time job so this is also a helpful accessory for that purpose as well. The iOttie Velox Qi2 is a good option for those in the market for a phone car mount. Out of the box, I was pleased with the look of the iOttie Velox Qi2. It is fairly sleek. I enjoy the simple design. I mounted it on the left side on the windshield so as to not impact my view of the road too much. You can also attach it on the dashboard. It attaches by way of a sticky suction cup which for now has held up very well. I have noticed though with these mechanisms that they do degrade over time. Now setting up is where I think alot of people will have some irks. I wish the cable was removeable. This would be so much more convenient in the setup and also allow for substitutions if any were needed. If the cable frays/breaks, then you have to buy a whole new setup (which is probably a good thing from a company standpoint). I also had to buy an extension cable because the included cable is too short. In terms of the magnet, it works very well. One thing people should make sure is that your case (if you have one) is compatible with magsafe. Mine was not and it could not attach. So I actually take off my case in the car. Will probably invest in a new case soon. The wireless charging is much faster than the crap I have seen included with cars so I am happy with that. All in all, this is a good product with some minor inconveniences. Would definitely consider this if you are in the market for a solid car mount.

I have been using the iottie Velox Mini Qi charger in my car for a few days now and am impressed. In the box iottie Velox Mini Qi2 MagSafe Charger Mounting Pad 12V USB C Car Charger Installation is easy, there some assembly required (click on the MagSafe charger to the mount). Takes 5 seconds. I decided to fit this in my car by attaching it to the dashboard (so didn't use the included Dash Mounting Pad). The great thing about the iottie is the arm is extendible/telescopic - fortunately it was a perfect fit in my Toyota and I didn't need to extend the arm. You then plug in the 12V adapter, the cable, and you're ready for 15W of MagSafe charging goodness. In my tests (and it's still summer) the iottie Velox didn't droop, fall off the windscreen, or have any other mounting issues. In fact, it's probably one of the strongest mounting units I have ever used, even before the locking mechanism on the iottie is clicked into position. Kudos iottie! What is a little disappointing is that the cable is not removable from the main iottie Velox unit. I'm not sure why they did this, but wish they had - because if you just want to stick your phone up and only sometimes use the charging, you're stuck with the cable. I went to my hardware store and picked up some 3M-style cable clips to better run the cable around the car and make it less intrusive. Despite the non-removable cable, the iottie is better than vent mounted MagSafe adapters which is what I previously used. I would recommend the iottie over a vent mount, as I have discovered the hardway the vent mounts are unreliable. Overall, impressed - a great add to your car if it's older and doesn't have CarPlay or Android Auto as now your phone can be at the right non distracting height for navigation. If the cable was removable from the main unit the iottie velox would be perfect!

The iOttie Velox Qi2 wireless car mount is a good option for Apple iPhones, but Max models beware… The charger has some nice features that I really like, such as you have the option to mount the charger to either your windshield, or you can use the included disk that can mount to your dash. The charger also comes with a USB-C car adapter, in case you don’t have a USB-C plug in your car. The charger has a soft rubber coating around the magnetic connector, this helps to prevent scratches on your phone. I’m happy that they added this feature, as others I’ve used in the past will leave scratch marks on my phone. The arm on the charger has plenty of range and can lay at a 90-degree angle and has a 180-degree range. The charger is fully compatible with Apple’s Magsafe charging, which means as soon as I connect my phone to the charger, a green charging ring lights up to display how much battery I have left and the charging status. The one problem I did have with the charger is if you’re using a iPhone 12 Pro Max, the magnet doesn’t hold it very well, especially if driving on a bumpy road. This can be easily fixed by attaching a small metal ring to your phone case, but sadly they didn’t include any in the box. Luckily, I had a few extra laying around, as soon as I attached it to my phone case, it worked great. Overall, I think the iOttie Velox is a great wireless car mount for regular sized phones, I do recommend a metal ring for Max sized iPhones. The build quality is good, the adjustable range is great, and the option to mount on your windshield or dash is a plus. I would definitely recommend this charger.

Nice vehicle accessory to hold your phone while driving. The powerful suction cup will allow placement in a number of places. I have tried the window as well as the dashboard and so far no problems. I like that it takes advantage of qi products and it charges without attaching cords. It’s very sturdy and holds the phone in place while driving. I like the flexibility to use in portrait or landscape. It was pretty tough to adjust it. I felt like I was about to break it when trying to adjust but I guess it’s like that to keep the phone in place. The one thing I do not like is that the charging cable is permanently connected to the charger. It would be nice if that cord could be disconnected to avoid wear and tear or someone mistakenly ripping it off. That would have given a bit more flexibility but not a deal breaker. You won’t be disappointed with this. If you can’t use it because of how your dash is made you should be able to use it on a window. I would recommend the purchase of this product.

I've used various mounts like this in the past but this one just had a few extra issues that makes me not super keen on it. I think I'll keep it for a while where I ended up installing it but I'm not sure I'd recommend it over some other options. I've used chargers with the same sticky suction cup before and was able to get it to stick to my dashboard without an issue. It's been in place for a really long time now. The first place I tried to install this one was my dashboard and it did not work at all. It comes with another plate you can stick to your dashboard that offers a flatter surface to install on but I didn't want to add the extra plate. I opted for using the windshield instead. After getting the cup a little dirty in my first few attempts at getting it to stick, I washed it off with warm water and gave it a go on the windshield. I actually found a nicer spot for the phone to the left side of the steering wheel anyways so not a huge deal that I couldn't get it to stick to the dashboard. The windshield stuck well and held the phone nicely. The next issue I ran into was the arm stiffness. The arm has a locking screw but it doesn't seem to matter at all. The arm is crazy stiff. It has a lot of tiny teeth that it grabs onto and I think the screw is supposed to loosen it just enough to let the arm move between the teeth and then you can tighten it to lock it into place but it's just always too tight. You need to force it exactly where you want it even when the locking screw is completely out. I suggest getting it into the position you want before mounting it because moving it will be difficult while mounted and will probably loosen the mounting job you did as well. The last downside is the lack of detachable cable. This isn't the only one of these chargers I've used without a detachable charger but those other chargers don't get a pass for it either. Being able to replace the cable if it wears out or being able to use a different, shorter (or longer) cable for your needs feels like something every charging device should have right now. For positives, the Mag-Safe hold is good. I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max with a Mag-Safe leather case and it finds and sticks to the charger without an issue. The magnet is strong enough I'm not worried about it falling at all (given my initial problems with the suction cup, I'm much more weary of the whole mount falling down than I am of my phone falling off the magnet). The charger is also nice. I usually don't have a great need for "fast" charging when on the mount, but it's nice to have. After a bit of time in the car, I'm left with a mostly topped off iPhone. Final thoughts. Is this the worst charger mount in the world? Definitely not. Is it good enough? Probably. Is it great? I don't think so. The charging part is pretty good, but could use a detachable USB-C cable. The mount sticks well to windshields but your mileage may vary on your dashboard. You might have to use the included dashboard plate which I find inconvenient. The adjustable arm is barely adjustable but once it's in place, you probably don't have to worry about it slipping and since the magnet head swivels around, you shouldn't really need to do much adjusting once you get it in place. It's not my favorite. But it's functional and it's not the worst.

iOttie always makes good in-vehicle mobile charging and cradle products and I have used them for years without any problems. The Velox Qi2 is no different. I have a dedicated cell phone mount in my vehicle from ProClip with a 17mm ball mount attached to it. So I didn't not need the suction cup mounting arm that this charger comes supplied with. However, iOttie does supply a adhesive disk so you can mount suction cup arm to your dashboard or window. So there is a diversity of mounting options. The attached USB C cable is long so where ever your usb power source is located you should be able to easily reach. In my case, I was able to tuck the cable within the trim of my vehicle and has a nice clean built in look. The cable was way too long for me but I tucked the excess away out of sight so it doesn't bother me. I prefer the attached longer cable as opposed to having a female USB c plug as the male plugs can be too long and not look as clean. I am also glad to see that iOttie has included a 20W car adapter to supply power to the Velox and it is a fairly compact and clean looking charger at that. Easily a charger iOttie can charge $20.00 for. Overall the while included package feels like it has a quality build which is what I have come to expect from iOttie. The magnet is strong enough to hold my phone while I am driving and nothing has jarred the phone loose from the mount even when driving too fast over speed bumps or choppy roads. BUT it isn't so strong that I have to yank the phone off the magnetic hold. It effortlessly slides off. Conversely it doesn't snap out of my hands when attaching it to the Velox. It's a smooth experience. Because there are little to no moving parts on JUST the MagSafe charging disk there are NO rattles whatsoever. Empty charging cradles I've used in the past begin to rattle over time. Although I did have success with earlier versions of wireless iOttie Easy One Touch Cradles. But magnets are way cooler. The 15W charging is perfectly capable to supplying a good charge to either iPhone or Android (with a MagSafe case) and can keep up while using CarPlay or Android Auto and running navigation and streaming music. There is not much else to say about the iOttie Velox Qi2. I am very satisfied with the build quality, mounting options, magnetic strength and power delivery capabilites. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for a clean Qi2 charger.
