Having owned other iRobot products, I was deeply disappointed in the Roomba 105. It seemed promising with it’s Vacuum, Mop or Vacuum/Mop settings.
First, you have to install the Roomba app. My previous iRobot vacuums use the iRobot app which is much better. When you purchase a new vacuum, you have to map your areas. The iRobot map has a feature where you can clean or mop everywhere. The Roomba app does not. I typically don’t clean or mop everywhere at once because we have items that need to be removed from a room before cleaning (office chairs, cart, etc…). With the previous app, I could put the vacuum in a room and tell it to clean everywhere and close the door. Life was good.
The initial mapping was faulty as it missed some areas. It also moves differently. This was really obvious when it mopped, as it turns so much and missed cleaning a lot of open area wood floors. It would leave a puddle in one area and other areas were left dry.
This vacuum is loud. Battery life was poor as it continually goes back to empty itself. I paused it more than once as it was returning to the base to empty, and there was very little dust to actually empty. So why does it constantly want top go back and empty? And during a cleaning, I found it varies on when it thinks it needs to recharge. It can happen at 30%, 18%, 15% and it takes a very long time to recharge.
To compare, I ran this Roomba upstairs and an old iRobot downstairs (it self empties too) to vacuum only. Same size of area. Go. The downstairs vacuum lasted 45 extra minutes before it needed to go back to the base and recharge. It became stuck once and took about 3 hours to complete with recharging. The Roomba had so many issues. It took 4 hours 30 minutes to complete due to constant emptying and recharging. It also was stuck 3 times.
This Roomba does okay on vacuuming with the normal setting but didn’t pick up some obvious items on the floor. When I tested the mop only feature on Light Clean (you have Light, Normal or Deep Clean settings), it barely cleaned at all. On Deep Clean, it cleaned better but soaked my wood floors in some areas. The worst part is it became stuck constantly on the rug edges. It took over 6 hours to clean and I had to babysit the Roomba. It also kept returning to the base to empty the bin. Why? It had just vacuumed. I paused and the bin didn’t have any lint or debris.
If I have to constantly babysit this Roomba, it is worthless. I could have vacuumed and mopped the floors myself in about 60 minutes (including prep time). The app also drains your phone battery.
We appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback on the Roomba 105 Combo. We're sorry to hear about the difficulties you are experiencing. Please reach out to https://homesupport.irobot.com/s/contact-support-info, so we may properly diagnose your issue.

Having a device that helps in some of the household chores is something that saves time, allowing me to do other things at the same time. With this iRobot Vac Robot Vacuum & Mop I can focus on other things while the floor cleaning is done automatically and even scheduled.
In the box comes 1 Roomba 105 Combo robot, 1 LV Auto Evac Dock, 1 Extra Mop Pad. The setup process is done through the app by following the steps it indicates to start using the vacuum cleaner. The device makes a mapping of the house to be able to start cleaning, once this is done you can choose the option of vacuuming, mopping or vacuuming and mopping. The suction power of the vacuum is very good, as well as the mopping function. Once the vacuum completes the cleaning process it returns to its base so you can empty the dust and debris it collects into the bag where the debris is stored. All in all it is one of my favorite functions.
The fact that once the vacuum is set up the cleaning process is automatic as well as charging the battery and emptying the dust and debris compartment saves a lot of time. Although it is always important to keep an eye on the device even though it has sensors that recognize areas where there are carpets and avoid going through those areas.
In my experience I can say that this device is easy to install, easy to use either by directly pressing the buttons on the device, using the app or asking a virtual assistant on the phone to perform the cleaning at home, has very useful functions that save time, an automatic system and a sober and simple design but attractive to the eye, it is a device that does not use much space and most importantly its price is relatively affordable. If you want a robot vacuum cleaner that helps with the floor cleaning without having to worry about forgetting to charge the battery or empty the dust and debris compartment every now and then, this is a good option that I can recommend.

Rosie Roomba is Great!

TL;DR:
SET UP: It was a bit of a process and longer than expected to get it running - downloading the app, charging the unit, updating the software, and eventually setting up custom rooms.
USE: Very easy through the app.
USABILITY: Very easy and automated through the app.
OVERALL: The iRobot - Roomba 105 is great and makes life that much easier!
REVIEW:
It took some time to set up…actually a lot longer than expected. We immediately put the Roomba 105 on the charger, which needs a set amount of space to dock and function. Then we downloaded the app, which was quick, but it said we had an active account, which we didn’t have. It took some time to override that and sign in. Once signed in, we added the requested and required information. It then said we needed to update the robot’s software…which took around an hour (longer than expected with fast internet - so a bit odd). The next step was to have it map out the rooms, which it did very well, but missed one of the hallways, which was easy to add. The editing of the rooms could be easier, but once figured out, was super easy.
Now for the test run and our real thoughts…iRobot - Roomba 105 Combo Vac Robot Vacuum & Mop + Auto Empty Dock is now officially named Rosie (like the robot on the Jeston’s). She does her stuff and does it well. We have 2 big dogs, and she vacuums up all their hair phenomenally well. If you add the mopping pad and some tap water, she will also mop the floors. She does her stuff in a grid pattern and does it well…surprisingly well. You can choose to have her run in all rooms or a custom set. For now, we are enjoying interacting with her and have her doing the high-traffic areas daily and the entire downstairs as we choose. The house has definitely had less dog hair and dust. Rosie is amazing!
Also…just an FYI, but it took our German Shepherd and Pitbull Mix about 10 seconds to realize Rosie is not a threat and she is one of the family members.

Does the job good enough, but isn't the best

After several days of testing the Roomba 105 Combo and Auto Empty Dock in various modes, it appears to work well thus far. Its combination of features, particularly the "combo" and "auto empty dock" options, is initially appealing, leading one to believe that maintenance would be minimal, perhaps only requiring occasional cleaning and water bin refills. However, this is not the case; be prepared to monitor it frequently and engage in more tasks than anticipated, depending on the chosen cleaning modes.
One significant issue is the lack of an empty water bin indicator. The Roomba will continue to mop even when the bin is dry, requiring you to pause the device and manually check the water level by removing the bin. Therefore, frequent checks are necessary when using the mopping function. Additionally, when using the vacuum-only mode, you must remove both the mop plate and pad, and ensure the water bin is empty. These components then need to be reinstalled when you wish to mop again.
In terms of cleaning performance, it is decent. The Roomba stops 2-4 inches from perpendicular walls before turning around. However, when parallel to a wall, it gets closer and cleans effectively using only its edge-sweeping brush. With the mop plate attached, the closest it can clean to a parallel wall is approximately 2 inches. On one occasion, while running in "vac + mop" mode, the device paused, and the water bin was found completely dislodged. While this might have been due to improper installation on my part, it suggests a potential for misplacement despite feeling securely installed. Furthermore, in "vac + mop" mode, the Roomba will avoid vacuuming area rugs because the mop pad cannot lift to prevent wetting them.
Battery life is acceptable, varying with the selected mode. When cleaning a large area, the Roomba docks to charge once its battery reaches about 25%. It resumes cleaning approximately 1.5 hours later at around 47% charge, continuing until it drops below 30% again, which happens quickly. Consequently, cleaning a large area, depending on the type of cleaning, could take an entire day. A traditional vacuum or mop could accomplish these tasks faster and more thoroughly.
The Roomba only included one extra mop pad, with no other spare parts. Given its price, it should have come with at least an extra filter and a vacuum bag for the dock station.
The accompanying app is frustrating and somewhat glitchy, as are some of the Roomba 105's features. After initial setup, an update was indicated to take about 20 minutes. However, it displayed "1 minute remaining" for hours until I reset the Roomba and closed the app. Afterward, it seemed to function normally. Another app issue occurred when the Roomba returned to charge mid-cleaning; the "My Home" page displayed a charging icon with a spinning circle that never loaded the intended information.
On the positive side, the Roomba is fairly quiet and moves with a purpose. We appreciated its clear communication regarding its actions, such as recalibrating its location before cleaning, returning to the empty dock station to empty the dustbin, and going back to charge. The auto-empty dock station is a definite plus as it reduces the frequency of manual dustbin emptying. It also periodically returns to empty the dustbin, though it does not do so when simply returning to charge. It's worth noting that the dustbin emptying process is loud, but no louder than operating a traditional upright vacuum.
In summary, I am not entirely satisfied with the Roomba, and given its price, we don't believe it's worth the hassle. While our frustrations might not be deal-breakers for everyone, it's not ideal for older individuals. It's simply another appliance that occupies space and requires frequent monitoring and maintenance, unlike a traditional vacuum or mop that can be stored out of sight with less upkeep. While this vacuum can get the job done, it has its peculiarities. I would recommend it only to those who fully understand its limitations and capabilities.

The Roomba was extremely easy to unbox and put together. The inner box top had simple instructions. It also included a QR code to “set up your Roomba account”, which I found out had been hacked. (See picture) When you scan it, it takes you to a website that looks legitimate for setting up your Roomba account so you can start the mapping process. Instead, after filling out my information, it takes you to a gaming website loop that charges you $50. I didn’t agree to anything on the website and just closed it out but it still charged my account and I had to get a new bank card. Alternately, I went on my apps and found the Roomba app and was able to proceed. The mapping program is simple once I found the right site. I kept thinking it would fall down the staircase but it didn’t. It’s a great little machine and cleans well, just remember not to leave any charging cords, etc. on the floor because it will tangle them up and start beeping an alarm. I would definitely recommend it, I have wood floors and it has been amazing.

Great helper around home, definitely worth the purchase. Only minus is that occasionally (say, once every 15-20 longer cleaning rounds) runs out of battery while cleaning and needs to be carried manually back to charging station. However, most of the times still automatically returns to charging station if needed. During about 50 cleaning rounds also lost the location couple of times and again needed to be carried manually back to charging station.

We call our robot Rosie, and she does an excellent job cleaning around our house. We have 4 cats and 2 dogs, and Rosie does great picking up animal hair and scoping out the room for any other odds and ends. We had a much older robot, and the newer style is so much quieter while being more efficient.

Love this item, was very impressed with the power it had and it did a great job in the hard to reach areas especially under the bed. I highly recommend if you are in the market for a robot vacuum. It was also easy to set up and works on an app

An excellent robot vacuum that does a great job with mapping my entire home. The mopping works better than expected and please my tile floors spotless. The self-empting bin works great and is very convenient.

The Roomba 105 Combo does a great job keeping floors clean with minimal effort. The vacuum suction is strong enough for daily dust, crumbs, and pet hair, and the mopping feature works well for light spills and routine floor maintenance. It transitions smoothly between vacuuming and mopping without issues.
Setup was quick and easy through the iRobot app, and scheduling cleanings is very convenient. I like that it navigates efficiently and doesn’t randomly bump around like older robot vacuums. It handles hard floors especially well and does a decent job on low-pile rugs.
The dustbin and water tank are easy to remove and clean. While it’s not meant to replace a deep manual clean, it’s perfect for maintaining clean floors between thorough cleanings.
Overall, the Roomba 105 Combo is a solid, reliable choice for anyone wanting an affordable vacuum and mop combo that gets the job done.

Very easy to use out of the box. Once you've mapped your home it's easy to automate tasks for the vac to do. Perfect for daily maintenance. We've got a pet and it saves time not having to hand vac every couple hours.

The roomba 105 combo vac is amazing. It cleans entire floors thoroughly and does a great job. The bin is especially useful given sometimes a cycle takes more than 2-3 trips to the dump. Does a great job of scanning the floor creating a plan and executes is well. Only quirks being wires. This product will find a way to get tangled with wires on the floor it can also try to pull in hard on them causing displacement or pulling down objects. Other feature I would like is control over the path it takes to prevent it getting tangled with known obstacles. It’s an awesome
Purchase nevertheless.

This vacuum has been a great help during my pregnancy, making floor cleaning much easier and taking one more task off my plate. It performs well on both hardwood floors and low-pile carpets, which suits my home perfectly. The mopping function is also a great addition and does a nice job.
I'm still learning how to use all of its features, but overall, it's been a reliable tool. However, I'm giving it four stars because the vacuum tends to get stuck frequently—either on edges of the carpet or due to parts coming loose underneath—which prevents it from completing its cleaning cycle at times. With some improvements in navigation or design, it would be nearly perfect.

Installation was easy , it mapped out the house surprisingly well. I like the way it cleans rooms making sure it covers the entire area. The only disappointment is the mopping feature, i was kind of expecting this already it seems like it just wets the mop slightly and glides through the floors

Works as expected. Seems to be improving its route daily. The mopping feature is a bit lacking as you have to manually wet the mop prior to starting, but overall I’m happy with it.

This thing is great, cleans my tile floors in the condo really well - cleans up my bunny mess and collects all the pet fur and mops well - you can add floor cleaner into it and it smells good. takes a while like few hours, to clean 2000 sq ft but its awesome and fun to watch. dust bin is great and makes emptying not messy and not gross.

Fabulous. The auto empty dock is a must. Our home if large and we have more than one of this model Roomba. We have them scheduled to clean different rooms so they don’t run into each other. Usually during their clean routine they have to return to the dock to empty the dust bin. The scheduling of different areas of my home is a game changer.

Cleans well but as a parent with young children is can have trouble going around toys. We try to clean up all the toys before cleaning but sometimes they get left on the floor and it can cause disruptions in the cleaning process
