770 Works Great, Use it 2-3 times a week - very comparable to an upright May look at the newer 800 series - supposed to be a little less noisy and little more suction. Unbelievable the amount of dirt, dust, cat hair it will pick up / Also bought the mop - it works like a gem also

I admit, I rarely vacuum unless guests are coming so "Ricky Ricardo" Roomba working everyday for me while I am not home is worth the high price tag. I have 3 cats and each day I come home to find a quarter-cat bundle of fur in the bin as well as a goodly amount of litter that they deposit around the house. Ricky seems to concentrate on one room per day and thoroughly and tenaciously cleans it. Ricky doesn't do stairs, alas. Maintenance is easy. The under carriage disassembles without problem and the included tools for combing the brushes work like a charm.

Very easy to set up and start cleaning out of the box. Comes with two gates that keep the robot out of certain areas, or contained to one room. Note, these are not lighthouses, just invisible gates.
The robot has a a very good vacuum, that I would dare say is better than my Dyson. Vacuumed a room with the Dyson, felt it was pretty clean, then set the irobot loose, and it came back with a near full bin of dust and bits.
The irobot cannot see where it is going, rather it bounces off walls via its front bumper that tells it that it reached an obstacle. At first, I was skeptical that it would actually get a room cleaned, but if you let it run for its full clean cycle, it will clean a typical master bedroom, or family room. The key is to contain the irobot in an area that it can reasonably clean in one cycle; you cannot just leave it on one level of a house, and expect it to go into every single room and get every single nook and cranny.

I like the fact that vacuum hits every square inch of the room and goes back over in the corners under the chairs I also like the barriers you can put up to keep it from going other rooms if you don't want it to or you have the option to let you the entire house and I will if I had a friend that was asking questions about this Vacuum I would recommend it

Yes, this is expensive. But, yes, it is worth the money! I have all wood flooring and tile. It moves easily onto the area rugs and vacuums those as well. It gets under the dresser and other cabinets. Places hard to get. Keeping hardwood floors free of dust can be maddening. This amazing little machine has saved my sanity. Buy it!

This is an absolute great daily cleaner. I literally let the unit turn itself on every morning at 5:30 am ... I have hardwood , carpet and travertine in the same 1st floor.. NO ISSUES... this thing works magic and it gets under your bed and your couch if its tall enough, in my case it does... the unit liteally cleans everything and my home is spotless.... at 630 the unit docks itself and recharges itself... if the reservoir is full there is a notification to let u know on the screen.... A absolute must have. best 400$ i ever spent... id do it again .. if u have pets they have a wet dry Roomba called the scooba.. I'm getting that for my mom because they have 4 dogs... and lots of pet dander...

I really like this produce because it can give me more time to play with my sons. I can keep my house everyday clean because I set the irobot automatically to run. When you set it up the time, it will according to your set to help you clean. Now my hands are free.

I received the Roomba as a Christmas gift. I have a yellow lab so my hardwood floors are always covered in dog hair. This product has been awesome. I do some prep before it runs, like putting the bar stools on top of the island. When it's done running it just goes back on the docking station.

We have 3 cats, and the Roomba is the best purchase we have made in a long time! It does a great job on our hardwood floors and has no trouble transitioning over to the tile in the dining room. It gets in nooks and crannies and can go under most furniture. The best part is I feel like I can tell a difference in my allergies since we got our Roomba. Would highly recommend!

This is my second iRobot. My first one was a 550 and is still in use, but I wanted a second one since I have a 2 story house and a dog! The 770 is so much faster and efficient than the earlier model. It is so easy to program and it does a great job with the pet hair. The sensor assures that nothing is left behind and the indicator lets me know when to empty the dust bin. There is also a helpful CD included that is easier than having to read a manual for usage instructions. I am very pleased with this product.

I've had a few of these, and they mostly suffer the same flaws - my house is open, but long, so it has a hard time finding its way home sometimes. Newer versions here are better at suction and have larger bins (which will fill up quite a bit the first few runs) and good room logic. Prices are still a bit high IMO, however.

I made this purchase thinking that it would be wonderful for our new 4800 square-foot home. However, I do not think that this unit is made for such a massive space.
The unit constantly has to be monitored to be emptied as well as it tends to get lost and stuck in numerous places including the tracks of sliding glass doors.
However, if you don't have a lot of sliding glass doors, which we have eight, this unit may have been a lot more beneficial.
If you don't have dogs that shed a lot, and not too big of a space, I would highly recommend this item.

We decided to get one when our 7month old Chocalate lab began shedding. It was like a wig would gather in the corners daily. We use it everyday and have been very satisfied with its performance. The scheduling is excellent for the evening when we sleep it cleans the hall way carpet.

I've had this for over a month and the only thing I regret is not buying it sooner. I have 2 dogs that leave their hair everywhere. I have this vacuum scheduled to run once a day. It does a great job vacuuming up their hair and any other debris. It works better than I expected.

We let our run every day and it keeps carpet and hardwood floors clean. Even with Pets and small children it does an excellent job. It can get stcuk so we have to make sure the floor is clear of power chords, blankets or clothes but otherwise little effort.

I have 2 dogs and 2 cats and all shed horribly. I used to vacuum the main areas they are allowed in EVERY day, sometimes twice a day if company is expected! With my Roomba I have scheduled it to vacuum every morning and usually do not have to vacuum that area myself (I have no carpet, all hardwood or linoleum). Occasionally I will vacuum the throw rugs because my long haired German Shepherd likes to lay on them (instead of her dog bed!) and she will leave a LOT of hair in her place. The Roomba is excellent but I don't believe there is any device that can keep up with her hair!!!
If you are contemplating the purchase go ahead and go for it, you won't be sorry.
The only thing I did not consider was cleaning the Roomba. I do have to empty the chamber everyday due to the pet hair alone but it is extremely easy, it takes a second or two (really!). I also like to do the recommended overall cleaning of the machine at least once a week. It only takes a few minutes but I had not considered that I would have to do it at all. You do have to unwind the pet hair from the wheels and clean off the sensors. The overall cleaning takes less than 10 minutes. I do a little extra cleaning of it trying to keep it new looking but it is certainly not necessary.
I have not used the "lighthouse" devices that keep it from going into certain areas because I have the hallway gated to keep the hairy pets in the main living areas so it can't go past there anyways (at least my bedrooms don't have pet hair issues).
I still love it and cannot imagine how I lived without it before!
