The iRobot Roomba Combo 10 Max Robot + AutoWash Dock (X085020) is one impressive machine. The main floor I tested the Roomba on is a mixture of ceramic tile, area rugs and medium pile carpet. I know most people do not like to read long reviews so I will focus on my experiences and not spend too much time on product details you can read for yourself on the product page. You get some replacement wear items like a vacuum bag, a wash pad and a replacement floor brush. Unboxing and set up – this was straight forward. When you open the box, you will see a QR code. Scan this QR code to set up the Roomba app on your phone. DO NOT DO THIS FIRST like I did. The best way to complete the setup is the following: - Open the box and remove all the contents. - Grab the Quick Start Guide for instructions on how to complete the dock and Roomba part installation. - Set up the Roomba dock in the desired location. - Attach your ramp to the dock. - Fill your water tank. - Place the Roomba in the dock. It was close to fully charged. - Download the app and follow the steps. - To create the map of your area, you want to choose to “vacuum everywhere” two times at least. The map is updated every time you use the Roomba. It does get more accurate each time. You can modify and customize the map. Search Guide to Imprint Smart Maps for more information on this topic. - Set up a schedule if you like. I did setup a schedule to vacuum every other day; and, mop and vacuum once a week. Usage – it is interesting watching the Roomba do its work. I noticed the first time it mopped the pad was not moist enough (see picture). It will get better as you do more mopping. In the beginning you may think it missed a spot. The more times it runs the program in the room to update the map, the better it gets. My last mop session was almost perfect. It is relatively loud when cleaning. You will want to schedule this when you are not at home. My gripes: - The unit often says the water tank or dirty water tank is missing. They are not missing. Remove and reinstalling both tanks seems to do the trick. - Small carpets and area rugs seem to confuse the Roomba. Especially with the mop activity. Hopefully this improves as each activity replaces the existing map. Thinner and stickier backed rugs may be better than what I am using. I will be testing this. Or just remove all small rugs? Using the Roomba for multiple floors – I have 3 steps down to another floor. This floor does not have a Roomba dock. I tried using the Roomba on this floor and it can work. You need to create a map for the floor. Make sure you save your map with a new name that makes sense to you. Using the default Roomba assigned names may not work as well as you would like. You need to make sure you start the Roomba in the exact same location each time on this other floor. I am confident I will have this 100 percent set up after a while. I am still experimenting with this function. Summary – I have only used this for a week. I am still learning on how to best use the Roomba. I notice the Roomba gets more accurate with each activity. As of now the best rating I could give is 4 stars. If you have one floor with all the same flooring material, it may be better for you. This is still a work in process for me. The Roomba does clean well.

The iRobot Roomba Combo 10 Max Robot Vacuum and Mop is 'la crème de la crème'. It sits at the top of the automated tools available today that are designed to maintain well swept & mopped floors. This is my 7th robotic vacuum & my 3rd robotic mop. The Roomba Combo 10 is a serious tool that effectively cleans the floors. It makes all prior models seem like toys. The robot weighs 11 pounds & measures 13.3"L X 13.3"W X 3.4"H. The 14.4 Volt Lithium Ion Battery life is 2 Hours. Included with the Combo are: - Mop Pad - Filter - Dirt Disposal Bag - Docking Station INITIAL SETUP: Remove the vacuum & the base from the fully recyclable cardboard shipping container, remove a couple pieces of tape that hold the vacuum securely during shipping. Choose a location, place the base & plug it in. Press the ramp onto the front of the base. Fill the clear container with either water or a floor cleaning liquid (I prefer the blue Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner). Install the iRobot app on your phone. Follow the instructions to connect to WiFi 2.4 Ghz. MAP YOUR HOUSE: Clear obstacles, such as wires, clutter, etc. from your floors. Open the app on your phone & select "Map it". The robot will go from room to room, discovering your house layout & will produce a whole house map. Next, identify the rooms with labels & move walls as necessary on the map for clarity. BUT HOW DOES IT CLEAN? In a word, AMAZING!! My wife walks barefoot throughout the house (we remove shoes in the house). She immediately noticed the hardwood floors felt smoother than ever after the robot had vacuumed! After it mopped & vacuumed, the floors had a beautiful sheen. You can start the cleaning process by Alexa, Google, or the app. It cleaned the areas I selected (about 80% of the 3200 square foot main floor) in 4 hours (it went back to the charging station after 2 hours & returned to finish). It pulled the dirt collected from the vacuum to the base massive dust collector with a cyclone blower. When finished, it cleaned the mop & air dried it! CONCLUSION: iRobot Roomba Combo 10 Max Robot Vacuum and Mop is a serious cleaning tool that has found its permanent home. Best cleaning tool we own!

This is my second robo vacuum. This robo vac comes in a box ready to go with very minimal physical adjustments to get started. There is very few written instructions to get started. Everything is online and can be found with a QR code. I struggled for a good while to get the robot to sync with the wifi. After watching alot of videos I found that this robo vac is not compatible with 5GHz wifi. I had to do research on how to downgrade my wifi to 2.4GHz to connect it. An electronic this advanced shouldnt be that hard to connect to wifi. Now about the robot itself, it cleans and mops like it's supposed to. It first wonders around the rooms to "map" out it's work area. The app adds more features like clean intensity, and even schedule work times. The home unit does all the hard work of refilling the robo unit with water and collecting dirty water and vacuumed dirt. It's very interesting to watch the robo vac work. You can hear the suction of the dirty water and vacuumed dirt. You even get to name your robo vac. This gives it a personal touch. Overall the robo vac does what it's intended to do once you go through the trouble of connecting it to Wi-Fi.

I love this Roomba Combo 10 Max. It’s not perfect, but it does an excellent job cleaning the floors and the voice integration with Google Assistant actually works smoothly. I can simply say, “Hey Google, clean the kitchen” and in a few minutes here comes the Roomba to sweep and mop it all up. I can even name a few rooms in one command and it’ll do each one I named and stay out of the others. The app allows you to easily make custom cleaning prompts if you’d like, but it’s nice to know that voice commands are pretty much ready to go after you’ve set up the map. The app can seem a little laggy at times, but it’s fairly easy to navigate through and edit your home map for proper room layout, names, and zones. Sometimes I wish it were a little more curious about exploring a room to map it out fully, but if you physically move the robot to an unexplored area it’s good about finding where it is and updating the map for later. The edge and obstacle avoidance sensors work well enough that I tested it out without moving or prepping anything and it was able to get around without needing much assistance outside of getting lost in some new areas. And if you have multiple rooms or levels in your house, the app allows you to save up to 10 different maps, which makes it handy to use for the whole house. You’ll have to physically move it between levels, but it should figure its way around as long as you select the correct map. It’s also quite athletic as it can climb over a 1” floor transition with relative ease, which is a big deal in my house. I’ve tried 4 other robot vacuums and they all struggle to cross over the transition bump into the kitchen/dining room, which makes this the first one I’ve had that can actually reach the whole house. And combined with a mop, my kitchen floors have never been cleaner. The mop works great with just water, which is another huge plus! This Roomba Combo 10 Max does a lot of things right, but one annoying thing is how long and loud it takes to dry the mopping pad after a run. You can thankfully turn it off in the app, but each time it comes back from a cleaning run it cleans and dries the mop head (which is great), but it makes an audible vibrating sound while doing so that takes over an hour to finish. At first I thought it was malfunctioning and shut it off in the app, but I’ve since found out it just takes a long time. If you’re in the market for a cleaning robot that feels like a true cleaning ally, you’ll like this Roomba. It automatically detects carpet/rugs vs hard floors flawlessly and it does an excellent job thoroughly cleaning both surfaces. I love that the mop works great with just plain water and with the automatic cleaning home base you might only have to change the vacuum bag and refill/empty the water tanks maybe once a month. It’s fairly low maintenance after the initial map setup and it’s pretty easy to use overall. It doesn’t allow me to send it to “clean in front of the dishwasher” like I read in one of the ads, but I can send it to a specific room which is good enough for me. I’ve tried 5 different robot vacuums from 3 different leading brands, and this is the first one that has met my vision of having a proper floor cleaning robot. It can scale the 1” transition to clean my kitchen and dining room, vacuums and mops well, can automatically change between mop and vacuum, can avoid obstacles and supposedly pet waste, and responds well to voice commands. I love it. Great job iRobot! CLEANING PERFORMANCE Excellent vacuuming and mopping performance. It’s so convenient having one machine that can do both and it’s genuinely neat to watch it lift and lower the mopping pad when it detects hard floors or carpet. What’s especially thoughtful is that the mop moves to the top of the robot so the wet pad doesn’t touch the ground when vacuuming over carpets and rugs. Judging from the corners of my hallways it does a great job cleaning dust from the edges of the floor and I especially like how “athletic” it is. The 1” high transition between my hallway and kitchen/dining room has proven difficult for most robot vacuums to climb over, but not the Combo 10 Max. It might not make it over on the first try, but it gets there fairly quickly and has never needed help or gotten stuck on it. And because it can climb over this dreaded 1” transition, it’s the first robot vacuum that can actually cover the whole main level of the house by itself. And it even does a good job of mopping the tiled and hardwood floors with just water. No special expensive cleaning solutions needed and that is truly fantastic! The only downside I found with cleaning vs others is that you cannot update the current ongoing cleaning run. If you want to make any changes you’ll have to send it back to the home base and start a new one. It’s a minor detail, but something to note. SETUP I was lazy about setting it up, but for a good reason. We recently finished a kitchen renovation and the house was full of construction dust and random stuff needing to be put away. I figured this would be a good test, because I doubt everyone places the home base 100% as recommended and my floors were in desperate need of a deep clean. After a few initial short exploration runs, I realized that having about 4’ of clear space in front of the home base and decent lighting were crucial for the Roomba to find its way around. It uses VSLAM instead of LiDAR to see and for obstacle avoidance, so it doesn’t do as well in the darkness as LiDAR guided units do, but it still does a good job navigating and mapping the house. I feel like keeping the rooms well lit is more important for the map exploration runs, but if it’s an area that’s already mapped it can find its way through the darkness fine. In terms of mapping, the app automatically detects and labels rooms and editing the map is straightforward. If there’s a part of the room that it seems to avoid mapping, simply physically move the vacuum to the location and it’ll explore it and automatically update the map when it goes back to the base. Thankfully this is an easy process, because as we’ve moved things back into the kitchen, the floor layout has changed significantly each day and it has done a good job of keeping up with it. We have stairs, a foyer edge to fall off, cables, random obstacles all throughout the house, and I have not picked up, blocked off, or moved anything. The Combo 10 Max successfully navigates around it all and simply goes back to its room when it’s done. I wish they made a drone to dust my cabinets. PROS - Excellent vacuum and mop performance - Mop works great with just water - Can scale 1” floor transition bump - Self emptying and cleaning base station are very convenient - Works great with Google Assistant voice command - Easy to setup cleaning parameters and favorites - Detects carpet vs hard floors well - Mop lifts to top of robot so rugs/carpet do not get wet - Obstacle and ledge avoidance works well - Long battery life - Automatically detects and labels new rooms decently - Easy to modify and setup map - Easy to expand map areas - Can store up to 10 different maps - Cleans in a pattern.. somewhat - Love saying, “Hey Google, clean the kitchen” and seeing it show up - Fairly low maintenance CONS - Pad drying makes a vibrating noise and takes a really long time - Bumps into walls/objects a little forcefully - VSLAM instead of LiDAR - Cannot modify ongoing cleaning mission - Does not live track robot location on a visual map - Basic looks - Marketing says I can specify “clean in front of dishwasher” but I don’t see the ability yet

iRobot Roomba Combo 10 Max Robot + AutoWash Dock Summary: Amazing machine that does it all! Use: I have a four-story townhome. We have a corgi and a miniature schnauzer. It takes a lot of effort to keep the home clean. The dogs tracking dirt, grass, mulch, and all kind of other stuff. We have used many vacuums from large ball swivel types to several lightweight cordless, and also a few other robotic vacuums. The handheld ones are great for deep cleans and spot cleaning, but in order to keep the house the tidiest, we use robots to clean daily. We have chosen iRobot because their technology is great, innovative, and the ecosystem is vast. We deployed the Roomba 10 Max onto our main floor. It sees the most traffic and is where the doggies pen resides. The unit's built-in reservoirs for clean water and wastewater AND the vacuum emptying bin allow the MAX to keep working until the job is done without a need to fill or empty the robot's bin repeatedly. The unit is housed in a garage that protects the robot from being bumped off of the dock. I'm glad someone finally thought of this! We used a combination of a separate iRobot mop and Roomba to clean the main floor before getting the MAX. It was a pain having to change out and emptying bins out in between each and every use. We noticed that if we didn't tell it to continue scheduled cleanings even while "full" that the units would leave rolls of dog hair and other debris. With the MAX, the Roomba can empty in the middle of a job and return to it whenever it needs. The "garage" empty cycle is so effective that the Roomba can run dozens of times before having to replace the waste filter. The empty cycle can be pretty loud, but the time required is short and it is a small price to pay for the convenience. I just schedule cleanings for periods where the noise won't be a concern. Pros: * Capacity. The unit's "garage" reservoirs allow the Roomba to perform several full cleaning jobs without itself needing to be emptied. This makes operating the Roomba even easier than before. * Great Looks. The "garage" is pretty large, but it is also thoughtfully designed! It makes fantastic use of every cubic inch. * Performance. The MAX performs marvelously. The standard features of a side sweeper, double rollers, and spatial sensors work as great as they do on other models. Though it is the mapping and the mechanized mop that lowers and retracts takes this unit to another level. * Mechanized Mop! The mop attachment is much more convenient now. On other models, you have to remove the fabric attachment in between dry and wet runs (I own the iRobot Mop, as well). On the MAX, however, the mop moves down from the top of the unit while mopping and returns to its position when done. The unit even features a drying phase that will dry the mopping pad in between uses. While not exactly quiet, it isn't loud enough to be a bother - but it does take a LOOOOONG time to complete. You can turn this feature off if you want frequent (intra-daily) cleanings. * Setup. Setting up the unit is straight forward. Just download the app and scan the QR code on the label included in the packaging. I did try the proximity setup but found the QR code to be faster. Use the app to map your home and then configure rooms. The unit tries to identify rooms for you. But you can change the labels and demarcations as needed. You can configure schedules to run for all rooms, or specific ones. You can disable each schedule as needed, as well. * Mapping. The mapping functionality is superb. I've posted a picture of our main floor. The camera offers opportunities for you to train your Roomba by helping it identify which objects are permanent, or temporary obstructions. It does a pretty darned good job at identifying obstacles, too. Cons: * Clearance. This is barely a con, but it is worth noting: we have stained wooden trim for our banisters. The bases of the banisters are raised and also stained. The Roomba units run over them, and, over time, they wear at the stain and eventually expose the wood. We went in with stain pens, but if you have a similar setup, you may face a similar issue. I wish the bottom fronts of the unit had some kind of softer material that wouldn't scratch raised surfaces/trim. As far as robot vacuums are concerned, there is no doubt that iRobot are on the high end of the pricing spectrum. But I feel that if you're going to splurge on lifestyle convenience hardware, the Roomba family of vacuums should be one of the things you splurge on. They definitely earn their keep and because their ecosystem is so vast, finding accessories and consumables for them is quite easy. You absolutely get what you pay for.

The iRobot with all the bells & whistles

I got my first iRobot Roomba two years ago. It was a game-changer to have this robot/vacuum/mop because of how much time it saved me. Living in a two-story house with a dog and a baby, I decided to get a second iRobot so I didn’t have to move the vacuum/dock up and down the stairs to keep the floors as clean as possible. I kept my eye on the subsequent models iRobot released waiting for just the right one. It wasn’t until I saw the features on the iRobot Roomba Combo 10 Max Robot + AutoWash Dock that I knew my wait was finally over. The features that convinced me were: • 7 days of automatic solution refill is what makes this product stand out from other Roomba models. In the past, my robot would run out of liquid because I chose 2 passes and heavy liquid. I received notifications on the app, but I couldn’t get home to refill it, so the job didn’t get completed. It is great to schedule the cleaning of rooms while everyone is out of the house and not have to worry about running out of cleaning solution. I can refill the solution once a week as well as empty the dirty liquid receptacle. • 60 days of dirt self-emptying in the bin • More power-lifting suction and deeper scrubbing. This is an option to choose on app. I couldn’t believe how much stuff the robot pulled up from my rug in just one pass. • Auto pad washing and drying. The dock has a built-in self-cleaning cycle for the robot. The rest of the features are what I have grown to love and expect from my robot vacuum. There are: • An app to schedule sessions, monitor progress, receive notifications and alerts. • A combo unit that adapts to clean hard floors and low/medium-pile carpet. • The edge-sweeping brush to get particles in the corner and under cabinets or furniture. • Multi-tasking – vacuums and mops simultaneously. Yet it won’t mop the carpet. • SmartScrub – mops back & forth with consistent pressure to eliminate stubborn messes. • Have a puppy? The iRobot purposely avoids pet waste. • With the app, you can personalize your cleaning. You can group specific rooms, create quick favorites, and set your cleaning preferences: the amount of water/cleaner, how many passes. Similar to settings on your cell phone, you can enable a child/pet lock, modify the lights, and locate your unit by having it make a sound. You can set personalized schedules by room and even clean small areas within rooms. • The app will connect with multiple Roomba robots! Here are some tips I want to share with potential buyers: • Only certain cleaning solutions can safely be used with the robot. Look online for a list of compatible solutions to avoid voiding the warrantee. Don’t use bleach-based products. • While the set-up is very simple, watch official online videos for assistance. • It will take about 3 hours to charge up initially. It then takes about an hour for the initial mapping. At that time, it will not clean. The iRobot will accurately identify the carpeted vs hardwood floor areas. You can section off and label the rooms. • On the topic of mapping, I suggest mapping once a month, so the Roomba avoids objects that you permanently added to rooms. It will even notify you about hazards you may want to consider addressing (i.e., cords). • It has voice command and is compatible with Alexa/Google/Siri. • There is a Robot Health that tells you when you need to change the brushes and filter. As a matter of fact, you get some replacements in the box. • In the box, you get a QR code for directions, a quick start/safety guide, and the warranty information. I suggest you go online to download, (print), and read the owner’s guide. There is a lot of valuable information in there. • There is a dedicated support team you can reach for assistance. Yes, that means you can actually talk with a person! When I make a high price tag purchase, I spend considerable time researching the different models before making the final purchase and I encourage everyone to do the same. I feel very confident in saying that anyone purchasing the iRobot Roomba Combo 10 Max Robot + AutoWash Dock would be very pleased with their decision.

The new Roomba Combo 10 Max robot with an AutoWash dock is a remarkable product that is a great combo cleaner for mopping and vacuuming the floors. I had my first experience with the brand with a different combo cleaner and when I saw what this one had to offer, I was intrigued. I was impressed with the big AutoWash dock which holds the clean water bin, a dirty water bin, and a vacuum bag compartment. I really like the fact that via the iRobot app you can take advantage of many features with the new model to choose from 3 different modes: mop only, vacuum only, or mop and vacuum simultaneously. The new model had plenty of instructions included and references to use the iRobot app for step-by-step directions to get the combo up and running. The only items that had to be installed after arrival were the ramp for the AutoWash dock and the roller brush that is also a fundamental part of the internal cleaning process for the new model. The great part of the new dock is that it washes and dries the mop pad. It also refills the mopping tank, empties debris into the vacuum bag, and has its own self-cleaning cycle to keep everything running smoothly. I have used the new Roomba Combo 10 many times and it is still collecting data to set up its dirt detective feature which basically tracks the areas of your home that are usually in need of the most cleaning. It can prioritize the cleaning schedule for you once enough data has been collected in the application. I did notice that for the first couple of mapping runs that Roomba Combo 10 was able to identify the areas better as far as whether I had carpet or tile flooring in the map. It made it easier to set up my home map and identify the various rooms so it could know where it was ok to use the mopping feature. I am impressed with the technology in the new Combo and really like how clean my tile floors feel after it mops and cleans them. It has been a noticeable difference from the prior model but the fact that it can mop and vacuum without having to change out the bin on it is more convenient for me. I also like that it takes care of keeping the mop pad clean by washing and drying it so that I do not have to take care of it. This new iRobot Combo 10 Max robot has been a positive addition to keep my home clean and saving me time in the process. I am very happy with the improvements the company made with the new combo and that they provide great product support as well.

Cleans pretty good when it doesn't need manual assistance. Dust bin on the device is much smaller than the Roomba's without the mopping function and seems to cause it to get clogged or full more frequently. Can only complete about 50% (that's generous) of the jobs without needing me to do something. The app is pretty terrible and hard to figure out for a techie, so good look.

so for the price of about 1000$ +. not worth it...yet. so it did well vacuuming & mopping was decent as a upkeep of the floor. however my biggest detractor was that after 2 months i got an error message and that it couldnt empty the vacuum into the dust bin so i followed the instructions on how to clear it but then another another process was to unscrew the base of the vacuum and take it apart. the video had a set of screws that didn’t match what i saw as if it is the previous models and in my opinion this vaccum is too new and too expensive to require that type of maintenance and this house isn’t that dirty. also i dont like you can’t just push a physical button for to generally clean without the use of the app. furthermore DO NOT BUY a product this expensive on sale from Best Buy. so i tried to exchange it but couldn’t as this is a black friday deal and but then i had to pay 300$ to to make up the difference as it was clearly no longer on sale as it is now February. and i have the total tech warranty. basically stuck with store credit but since i got it on a lease program that got refunded thank God but now i got to see how to get my money or credit for the money i paid toward the lease. or at least yall should have an idea of what to use the store credit for. which now gives me pause to the total tech insurance.

I have been eyeing this model for a while. I've had several Roombas before, including vacuuming and mopping ones. This one does both; however, I did not get to enjoy it. It never completed the mapping due to a constant error of "bumper stuck". I still gave it three stars because iRobot support is great and they sent me a replacement Roomba Combo 705 Max model, which works great and has a roll mop instead of a pad that just slides over the floor.

Have it for 10 months now and I decided to get this one because I have half of the house with carpet and the other half is hard floor. Since the beggining it wasn’t identifying two of my chairs that are black and it was getting Stuck there but Í decided to always lift those chairs to avoid problems. Overall it cleans really well but I can’t trust to turn it on when I’m not home anymore because it Will either get stuck or not charge when getting back to the base. The charging sensors are getting rusty which is odd since I only have it for 10 months. Will contact support and see what they can do.

First, the mopping feature is aweful. Even on the setting which uses the most water, the "mop" just leaves a damp line about 2 inches wide. This feature contributes 0 to the cleaning of my floors. Second, the vacuuming. The vacuum is always "clogged" and needs the sensors clean. Always. Or, the base thinks a bag isn't inserted. When I say "always" I mean this is a daily error. Third, my roomba wonders around in the most senseless pattern and wastes battery for absolutely no reason. It takes a full 8hrs for this thing to just vacuum 1 floor - this is on the 1 pass setting.

Amazing I don’t have to vacuum several times a day anymore. I have 4 animals and this helps with all their hair.

Buggies software app, not able to save clean only on hardwood floors room. It's always done with clean and mop but not just one feature as you like. Not work well with dog hair because of clean & mop feature made wet hair stuck and stick between collect dust bin and entry to vacuum exhausted pipe therefore caused robot is back to the base more often for emptying the dusbin due to vacuum suction is not that strong to suck out wet hair to the dust bag. I happened to check the dust bin because seeing dog wet hair laying around the floor after the robot just passed the areas. I wished I can return the product but unfortunately it passed the the return window. The plus is the machine do both vacuum and mop in one to avoid having two separate vacuum and mop machine at home. I was happy with individual iRobot S9+ and mop M6 but not the combo. Wish iRobot would do better in design new combo iRobot machine and need lot of work to fix the issue here.

I absolutely love love love my new Roomba. It cleans quite well. It’s so cool how it maps the room out first. So so clever. I really dislike vacuuming and dusting. So thank goodness I don’t have to vacuum anymore. Yay. Thanks Best Buy for another great buy. We’ve purchased several big ticket items within the last 3 months.

Misses a lot of debris from corners and middle of floor. Mop seems to work good. Gets lost and stuck. Doesn’t empty the dry debris out of the vacuum well. Constantly have to clean out stuck dirt.

I took a long time to get on board with the robot vac. Now I love the convenience of setting it to go and forgetting about it! The floors are definitely mopped more than they were. Still can't reach the dust around any edges and is a bit loud.

Have been using this product for months and overall super satisfied with the iRobot max. I have it with 2 Huskies in the house and does a good job cleaning. Granted if I skip the vacuum for a few days, the dog hair will sometimes cause issues but usually works really well.
