If you were wondering whether Marvel was going to re-release Phase 1 of the MCU in 4K before the end of 2019 the answer is an absolute yes! Not only did they give Iron Man the 4K treatment but they also gave it Dolby Vision (as well as HDR10 for TV's without Dolby Vision support) which really adds to the overall experience. If you have to see the first Iron Man then you really should get this and check it out!

Disney's 4K UHD transfer of 2008's "Iron Man" is overall a pleasing effort, even if digital noise reduction takes away a certain amount of film grain and the release lacks the second disc of supplements found in Paramount's original 2008 Blu-ray release. If you still have the original 2-disc set, you might want to hold onto it if you're a fan of bonus material. Overall, the UHD edition is a worthy upgrade. Colors are stronger on this release and despite the presence of noise reduction, there is a noticeable amount of improved detail. As for the film, it remains a fun kickoff for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Is the steelbook worth it? It is if you're like me and want the original poster art on the cover. It's far more appealing than the dreadful Photoshop monstrosities the regular editions are released in.

Yeah, just wow. I've come to expect modern 4k's to be good, but this one is fantastic. I must concede that IM1 does have a significant nostalgia chills factor associated with it, but holy hell, I hadn't noticed that the closeup shots of the armor you can see the grains in the metal... Really, this is a must have for the MCU discs and now we *finally* have it. Worth the wait.

The first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is still one of the best superhero films ever made. Robert Downey Jr. fits comfortably into Tony Stark’s suits and takes to the skies as one of the best superheroes ever made! The action is intense as director Jon Favreau begins to deliver on the promise of a massive film franchise the likes of which we’ve never seen before.

I'm not discussing much on the movie itself. Everyone knows that this film started off the whole Marvel Studios juggernaut. Let's discuss the 4K video and audio quality. The film looks fine, but since it is 12 years old & 4K, HDR, & Atmos didn't exist then...it's just a subpair transfer. There's a little grain in some scenes; I even noticed the grain when Ironman was recirculated in theaters back in 2017. Due to the age, the HDR treatment doesn't really have any glaring moments or scenes. It's nothing to complain about though. I didn't really notice much in my overheads with sound effects, but maybe just musical filler. It still seemed like a 7.1 surround mix. But let's face it, there are very few Disney/Marvel films that rock the Dolby Atmos.

The best Iron Man movie. Great start to the MCU and also a fantastic stand alone movie. Blu Ray has some nice special features like behind the scenes and creation of the effects.

To me this is by far the best of the MCU movies and the best origin story out there. Mostly because or RDJ's amazing talent. I'm so anxious for a few days off work to binge the new 4k releases that came with this. Nearly docked a star for Disney's continued insistence in not including Dolby Vision in the physical media. I'm really getting sick of that.

This movie kick started the whole Marvel Cinematic Universe and it's still as great as ever! Jon Favrue and Robert Downey Jr. did the best work of their careers on this movie and created a billion dollar per movie cinematic franchise. The movie looks brand new in this 4k transfer! Sharp and detailed and the soundtrack has lots of punch!

I do not have a lot of Steelbooks, but when I do 99% of them come from Best Buy. They are readily available and a great buy. Iron Man, and a few other movies is one one my very favorites. When I have a Very Favorite is try very hard to get all versions. Iron Man is a Very Wonderful movie...and Best Buy came to bat with the Best Steelbook cover.

My fave Iron Man movie! Great soundtrack, interesting and action-packed storyline. Robert Downey Jr. did Iron Man justice in this series! I bought the 4K steel book to replace my original blu-ray movie. The cover artwork and film upgrade to 4K made it worth it.

The original Marvel film is still one of the best and it’s been given a marvelous upgrade over the old Blu-ray. The HDR10 presentation adds better contrast and colors and a more film like presentation. The ATMOS audio track is a HUGE upgrade over the old 5.1 mix. Lots of overhead effects like when Jarvis is speaking in Tony’s lab.

The original Iron Man as portrayed in the comics appeared in the 1960's. This movie is a reasonably close adaption of the comic "origin of" Iron Man tale, adapted for the 21st century. There is excellent pacing and casting in this movie, and it is a foundational must-see for anyone who plans to view the entire Avengers arc.

The movie that started it all has aged very well- it still feels just as good as it did when I first saw it. The original Iron Man movies have great audio mix with deep rumbling bass that you can feel. Not to mention the brilliant song selection. Picture quality is great and definite upgrade over the previous releases.

A movie that started MCU and to this day it is one of the best MCU movies. Robert Downey Jr. is amazing as Iron Man, and other cast is doing pretty good job. Story is really good. It has humor, action and easter eggs. Visual effects are great. It is entertaining movie for comic book lover and definetly must see.

I've watched this movie a few times now, each time many years apart. I really do like this film for the story it tells and the way it built Tony Stark up. Very well made and moves quickly despite the running time, worth a rewatch if it's been a while the acting and storytelling in here is very good.

Another great MCU Transfer for Disney. This is the best this movie has ever looked its a 2k DI upscaled to 4K the movie was shot on 35mm so there is grain and softness but it is a great improvement in depth and detail over the 1080p transfer. HDR is great, Atmos is good great use of surrounds and overheads.

This steel book copy of the original IRON MAN is a great addition to any steel book collection. Plus, you can now enjoy the movie that started the MCU in glorious 4K! The picture is stunning! This is a great upgrade to the old DVD I had 10 years ago. It was definitely time to upgrade to 4K!

I love this movie! I was not excited to see this movie when it first came out but boy was I surprised! What a great ride! I’ve been waiting for the 4K version to come out and here it looking and sounding fantastic! Plus I got the digital code so now I have the entire Infinity Saga digitally. Get it!

This is the movie that started the Marvel Movies productions to follow. The acting by Robert Downey Jr is great. I was hooked from the beginning. The 4k is beautiful to watch. But, it doesn't override the quality and story line of the movie. As with all great movies, I will watch it again.

This movie redefined what I though super hero movies could be, once that mantle had belonged to Batman but Iron Man easily jumps right up the list with it. A great story of and proof that Tony Stark has a heart. I owned the original bluray but had to pony up for the 4k steelbook. It is worth it!
