This basically added one port. It was also strange that the hub did not seem to work when it was connected to a power plug (as a powered device), but did work when the wall charger was removed. Also was going to use the Hub to make the port available on the next shelf down (computer is on shelf above monitor) but the cable was too short and needed an extension.

I can now cast my school issue Chromebook onto my smartboard using the available HDMI output on the J5 Create. Additionally, the two USB 2.0 slots allow the plug and play use of a mouse and full-sized keyboard. It also has a USB-C port to makeup for the one it occupies. New features without loss! A little pricier than products that only do USB-C to HDMI but worth the extras it provides if you have such wants/needs and can sport the extra expense.

It has more options and the size and dimensions are convenient for desktop use (I'm not sure if it's easier to travel with because it's boxy and the other j5 is flatter).
