As a software developer and doing pure office work, this is an excellent monitor expansion. My laptop uses USB 2.0 and already using an external VGA monitor. This connected simply to the USB port and within minutes I had a 3rd monitor. It extends by default to 3 different screens so I can place documents and applications in each of the three monitors. I highly recommend this product.

I had a few issues setting this up, pretty sure it was user error, but I call the company's tech line and they helped me out.

This USB to VGA adapter has some advantages and disadvantages but ultimately isn't the best option out there. Advantages: Build quality is decent and the aluminium casing looks great. The attached USB cable feels solid and isn't so long that it would get in the way but also not too short to be a bother. The Max display of 1900x1200 should be more than enough for the majority of users. Disadvantages: lots of video lag makes this really only useful for web browsing and text-based applications. Additionally the compatibility is questionable. While the manufacturer's web site offers drivers for Windows 8.1 these drivers immediately started causing problems for my system even when the device wasn't attached: Applications wouldn't always open and the computer would lock up on restart. After removing the drivers for this device everything functioned normally. Overall: This product may work for Widows 8 and Windows but the drivers aren't ready for Windows 8.1. Even if they were, the performance of the device leaves a lot to be desired. My suggestion is to search Best Buy's site for the EVGA UV39. This product is around the same price point, can output to DUAL MONITORS, and has much better refresh meaning significantly less lag. My workplace has been using EVGA USB video adapters for years and they are hands down the best on the market. If you're in the market for a USB video adapter, EVGA is where you want to look.

Bought this adapter to add a 3rd monitor to my work laptop. I work in IT and usually have 3 monitors and wanted to be able to replicate my workstation at home when I work from home. Install driver and laptop recognized the other screen right away.

Bought 2 for our sanctuary big screen monitors. Quality is great!

I work from home and have to use multiple monitors as well as the laptop. This was the exact item I needed to put it all together.

Since most new laptops only come with an HDMI out, this was needed for work to connect to a VGA projector. Using the USB connection to output video was a better choice than an HDMI to VGA adapter.

Works great if your PC does not already have multiple outputs for monitors. We have used quite a few or these and have had no issues.

I was in the store and saw this item while looking for a KVM switch. Bought it and it worked but then I noticed columns of RGB dots 1/2 in apart on my extended monitor. Contacted tech support and they recommend I download drivers off the net which I did but still ran into the same problem. I went back to the store and swapped it for another unit and no issues. This is a faster and less expensive way to be able to use dual monitors without having to install a video card with dual VGA. Glad I stumbled upon it!

This item was purchased to allow my school issued pc to display on my SmartBoard. It worked perfectly.

This was the product I needed. Works fine. No problems over the past 2 years.

I downloaded the driver from the j5create website and installed it as instructed and it promptly trashed my computer. I'm having to do a total re-install of Windows 8.1. The adapter may be great, I don't know, but the software seems to have some major issues. I am not a happy bunny.

Served me well for connecting my projector with my 2-1- computer

It was a little difficult to use when using the driver that came on the CD, but all was solved when their customer service got me to download the driver from the j5create website. Works great now! Now I can get so much more work done!

Follow the directions during install and it should work just fine. No major issues, although I do have to occasionally do a computer reboot because the screen will just go out. I have had to reboot because of this, maybe once every couple of weeks.

Bought the item so I could use my second monitor to edit on Premiere Pro. However, when I tried to expand to the second monitor, everything was slow and lagging. Dont know if it was my Mac or the adapter.

Simple plug and play.. I am running Windows 10 and it works great.. It's replacing one that is not compatible with either Windows 10 or some antivirus software on my computer..

Purchased this product about 18 months ago. It did what it was supposed to do. Then in February 2017, it stopped working because the drivers were not compatible with a Windows 10 update. Made several emails and phone calls to J5 Create. This company left me hanging for 6 months before they updated the drivers to make this product work again. I purchased a new computer because when both of my adapters went out at the same time, I assumed the problem was with the computer. Lousy customer service.
