It seemed like a great product but when I got it home and installed it it failed to operate as I hoped it would.
The USB Hub does not require an installation of a driver. It is a PnP device. Please uninstall any drivers you have installed on this device. Depending what is being connected to the Hub such as high powered USB peripherals, it may require additional power to operate correctly. Please check power requirements on those devices. Defective, Non-Working Product

Every device that I plugged into this product produced an error in Windows stating that it was an 'unrecognized usb device'. Nothing was functional. Tried different ports on device and PC and tried different wall sockets.
Returning for refund.

Great for more USB ports on my laptop liked the external power plug

Would not recognize 2 new flash drives.

PC would not recognize 2 newer 32gb flash drives. Had to plug in drives and reboot the PC before it would read the flash drives. My old slower hub recognized the drives right away. Stopped using this hub in favor of using my old hub.

after about 6 months it died worked fine up till then.

This J5 USB 3.0 powered hub was a brick on arrival. It didn't detect, and nothing plugged into it would detect either. But I'm not discouraged. I'm going to habe best by exchange it for another one.
I'd still recommend it, because I think I just got a fluke bad product

I have two of these units and they both came with defective USB cables. The cables don’t work when fully inserted in the PC’s USB socket and only work intermittently when the cable is not fully seated.

Had it since end of January and already fried at March
horrible
good thing are it didn‘t fried my files or any of my external or flash drive
was easy to use when it works...but now its just a brick...

the connection port is very poor cannot be moved or bumped by anything./ Pretty poor for a multiple device connector. It is poorly built. There were much better choices for much better quality products.

Seems to me it should not be hard to build something this simple and have it work. As soon as I plugged in the hub and a couple of hard drives, I got an error message saying the USB device was defective. I checked the hard drives on a direct USB port- no problem.
Due to the power requirements of some external hard drives, connecting them via the JUH377 may not work. In this case, you would need to connect the hard drives directly to the computer as when the hub is connected to the computer's USB port, the power becomes divided amongst the 7 USB ports supplying less and less power than it would if it were connected directly to the computer. The JUH377 is mostly for mice, keyboards, flash drives, web cameras. We apologize for the troubles you experienced and hope we can turn things around. If in the future, you experience such issues again, please feel free to contact the support team on the packaging and a rep will be glad to assist in configuring some power settings to see if we can get them up and running for you. Bought this back in March 2022, and it seems like the power supply is dead. Now, half of my peripherals won't work.
Gonna replace this with an Anker hub, most likely.

j5 7-port usb3 hub stopped working on my surface pro6 after a month. The hub's usb3 plug would never seat completely in Surface port, unlike other hubs or devices. Returning to Best Buy.

This seemed like an OK USB hub. But the cheap build quality had me worried. Did some online searching after I purchased it and saw more than enough to cause me to just return it. Seems the design had a nasty habit of frying motherboards and peripherals.

This unit has started constantly ejecting my external hard drives on my iMac. I have several hooked up and it randomly ejects different ones plugged into different ports. I would say this is unsafe for data and to look elsewhere.
I'm so sorry to hear that this happened to you! This device is only meant to run one high bandwidth item or in this case, one hard drive and then smaller peripherals. Using multiple hard drives will cause the ejection issues as the device is unable to handle the load you're asking for. I bought this product because I wanted to be able to charge devices through the plug/out or through the laptop. The plug part HAS NEVER WORKED. I have to plug devices in via computer power to charge.

Do not buy this, slows everything down and does not work efficiently. When ext. hard drives are plugged into this they click and stop working.
