I have always wanted to add multiple monitors to my system, but I was told that my PC was never able to add more than one. This device easily plugs into a hdmi port in the PC and your monitor plugs into the other end and you now have multiple monitors working independently of each other.

I was looking for a way to hook up one of my systems and my HDMI hook up were full, so I found an other way to hook up my system and bingo, there we are watching what I couldn't before without unhooking something or changing the wiring which would take some amount of time.

This has been a lifesaver when making presentations at Clients' locations. Many times not knowing what to connect to ahead of time makes this a safety net for connecting my Surface Pro. Comes with a VGA and HDMI adapter that plugs into the USB port.

I know this adaptor doesn't work for everyone on all equipment but worked perfectly to connect (2) NOC monitors to my Lenovo Yoga via Targus docking station. We have also used these connectors to add a second monitor to multiple PC's at our company. Never had an issue.

I bought this because my Surface died and I did not want to spend the money to get another one.
The tablet itself has done everything I have asked it to do. It is not blindingly fast, but it works for my business applications.
With the keyboard it is a lot thicker and heavier than a Surface. The camera is nicer though.
The keyboard is not the best. The mouse pad especially is terrible. The keyboard is not lit which turns out to be a bigger inconvenience than I thought it would be.
The USB ports are nice, but will not power an external hard drive.
Overall though, I got what I needed and expected. It is a good unit and the only thing really keeping it from a 5 star rating is the keyboard.

I need two monitors for work. I looked at a couple of solutions, but with a Macbook Pro, there seem to be only three.
1. Buy thunderbolt compatible monitors and daisy chain them. I found this cost-prohibitive as my two AOC monitors cost less that one Thunderbolt monitor
2. Use a device that creates an extended Display over two monitors via Thunderbolt, effectively splitting the Thunderbolt or Mini Display port signal. The only one I found was from Monoprice. It was horribly reviewed and it only did DVI, not HDMI.
3. This device. Several offerings, I got the J5 from Best Buy because I enjoy shopping at the store. The reality is that the device is HDMI over USB 3.0. I really had my reservations about this technology, but it does work. It just doesn't work _well_. It hits a known bug in OS X that causes the screen to jump during refreshes, momentarily scrambling everything. I have used it enough that I now, mostly, ignore it. I am checking in with the folks at J5 every month to see if there's a fix. Until then, it more or less suits my need and I resisted the temptation to return it.
