HDMI output failed at 4 months. The return period had expired. After I replaced it with a different docking station from another manufacturer, problems I had been having with USB connections to other devices disappeared.

The USB-C 4K HDMI Docking Station with Power Delivery is a PnP device and requires DisplayPort Alt Mode and USB Power Delivery 2.0 or 3.0. Please check if there are any available updates for your computer which could cause the j5 device to not function as intended and in order to rule everything out we recommend contacting the Manufacture (of your computer) Support in order to have them assist you in properly updating your computer. ** Feel free to contact j5create Technical Support if you require further assistance. Their information can be found on our website under the "Support" tab. Thank you.

Did not work for us, made laptop super hot. Item was returned.

Generally, adapters emit heat as a normal part of its operation, especially if the USB-C pass-through charging and/or all ports on the hub are utilized. Please note that hotter operating temperatures can be expected. We apologize for the inconvenience. Kind regards, j5create team.

To change the default playback device go to your "Settings" > "Select System" > "Select Sound" > From the drop-down menu under “Choose your output device”, select a device. E.g. Speakers (USB Audio), (Speakers (Realtek(R) Audio) > Move the volume bar under “Master Volume”
Repeat steps 4 & 5 until you hear audio coming through your preferred playback device. At this point, the audio should play through the device that was selected. ** If you require further assistance; please contact the j5create Technical Support team and they will be glad to further assist if necessary. Their information can be found on our website under the "Support" tab. Thank you.

Didn’t work on my Mac. I have an M1 Mac and dell monitor. I knew I couldn’t get dual monitors but I thought I’d at least get one. Then I got hassled at Best Buy trying to return it.

Unfortunately, M1 will only allow (1) additional display. M1 Pro and M1 Max can do multiple display's. You would need a device that requires an installation of a driver for multiple display's using Mac's with M1 architecture.

It works for my computer, but doesn't have the power of the one I would have bought that was made by the same manufacturer of my computer.
