Bought this for the 2 Chromebooks in the house. They both immediately saw the device without issue. The ethernet port immediately showed up with Chrome defaulting it to DHCP. The HDMI connection is not displayed under settings until you complete the connection to a TV/Monitor/Stereo - only then can you adjust the settings for it. But that's a Chrome OS quirk.

Used it to connect USB-Type-C port on laptop to cable modem/router Ethernet port, since laptop has no Ethernet port. Replaces WIFI connection to cable modem/router which is much slower and unpredictable. Ethernet cable always gets 15MB connection to internet, and would get more if I bought faster Internet speed.

Tired of having dongle after dongle attached to your laptop, for extra video, network ports and USB slots because there just isn't enough. Well this is the answer. Extra usb A slots, network adapter and HDMI. The only down side is it is not fully compatible with, with the Latest Mac books

Note, this device performs exactly as it says it will, if you have the following devices. USB TYPE C PC w/ Thunderbolt* Macbook 2016 Chromebook. That is all i can say to this. However on that note.. Oddly enough USB Type C is a very difficult piece of technology to actually enjoy using when its bundled in a device like this. Nothing really wrong with the device its just the USB standard that this device is attempting to uphold is vastly dependent upon other devices, such as a macbook, and most of the features of this unit, simply do not work unless you have THAT specific device. HDMI Video out does not work on standard USB C ports unless they have Thunderbolt on PCs and Laptops. It does however work on Chromebooks as an extension display It does work on most Apple Devices. If, you use this on a standard USB C port you will NOT be able to use the HDMI out, and you will NOT be able to use the ethernet port. Also if you happen to FULLY saturate the speed of the Type C port, you will also not have full bandwidth as this device runs in 3.0 spec for some reason even though my laptops support 3.1 Lastly, from what i can tell it also does not charge my device either, which explicitly says it can do, but I presume it is a macbook specific thing as it does not charge my HP whatsoever. Again, nothing wrong with the device, it does exactly as its supposed to do, in a very limited scenario. however, paying the price for this unit, only to have just USB ports at half speed isn't exactly a great device in the long run which makes these units undesirable to many.

Bought this to go with my HP Spectre laptop that takes power via a USB-C port and I wanted to be able to hook it up to an external monitor using a hdmi cable, and also add a couple of regular USB ports. This fulfills the need just fine and I think the cost is about average for such a multi-adapter.

I tried to buy an adapter online, but every item I saw had a significant number of negative reviews about the device not working, or quickly breaking down. I decided to go to the Best Buy store to ask for advice on which type would work best for my computer. The advice was spot on, a short trip to the store paid off by steering toward an adapter that was plug and play for me-connects my keyboard, mouse and monitor all with 1 connection.

Bought a new laptop, online, according to online specs it had an hdmi port, get home, unbox, no hdmi port, liked the computer and figured there had to be a workaround, so researched and found this product, works great for my needs, also like that it gives extra ubs ports. Waited to post review to see how it held up. Good product.

My daughter uses this with her MacBook Pro. She uses it with an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Works fine with no issues. We never use the Ethernet port since her setup for the Mac is wireless so I can’t review that part of the device. Like the fact that she can still charge her Mac book with this installed since there is a charging port on it.

My one complaint is that the USB ports have at times not recognized my devices. But unplugging/replugging always seems to fix that problem. Otherwise I have used all the ports (other than the ethernet) without a problem.

The adapter has worked for me with how I use it. The only thing I could not get to work was the HDMI connection, but I am sure it I moniker with it some more I could get it to work. Make sure you install the Ethernet drivers for the Mac to use the Ethernet port.

Does what's suppossed to do. No thrills or anything beyong that. Good quality, doesn't feel flimsy.

Works well. I don't notice any big delays. Gets a little hot by the end of the day. It is lighter than I thought - so it is easy to put in your bag without worrying about weight and carrying it around.

Went in to buy another hdmi but glad I got this one. Very easy to use and has more than enough options

I have a monitor, mouse, and keyboard hooked to ready. I just plug my laptop in and have dual monitors a real keyboard and mouse. I still have 2 type c ports left over for anything else

Allows great versatility by adding additional USB 3.0 ports, ethernet, and an HDMI port. Only issue, which prevented the 5 star rating, is when laptop comes out of sleep mode, the external monitor requires the hdmi connection to be disconnected and reconnected, to be usable.

This has been a very handy device for my laptop. It gives me 2 additional USB3 outputs from my one USB type C output and allows me to plug in my ethernet output for my network. My computer did not have an ethernet input so this allows me to use it again. It also has an HDMI output for TV and other HDMI devises.
