No need for an adapter
This works perfectly for mac! No need for an adapter, just plug it straight into the computer and the external HDMI display.

Perfect for my IPAD
I have an IPAD pro and this is a great option to connect to the TV. Only issue is that there is no charging while watching.

Charging the device while streaming to a TV, monitor, projector is something j5create is working on and in the future will be providing newer devices for; for the time being, we do have other device such as the JCA379 that does indeed provide charging while providing an additional monitor for viewing if you're interested.

Sturdy and easy to use. I did notice however that I can’t adjust my contrast on my LG monitor when I use it. Not sure what’s up with that, could be my monitor.

It is great to hear that it was easy to use. Regarding losing the ability to adjust contrast; some monitors will adjust the display settings to what it considers “optimal” depending on the display input. You may want to see if you can change display settings with your video card, or contact LG for assistance.
