I feel these earbuds are very comfortable to wear. I bought for the gym and found no slippage and they stay put while lifting. The sound quality is great too. Nice thump and punch in the bass. Midrange sound great. A slight dip in treble but not bad. The negative is my carrying case stopped charging within the first year of use, so the earbuds don't charge anymore. I can't use them anymore and can't get them replaced because I can't find the receipt to get the warrenty exchange.

As someone who needs headphones that can keep up with life on a farm, it takes a lot for me to get excited about headphones. The Jabra Elite 7 meets all of my needs, and still has features to spare. In the box are the earbuds, charging case, usb-c charging cable, different sized ear gels, and instructions. To get started, download the Jabra Sound+ app. Pairing is simple with my Samsung Android phone, push and hold both ear buds for a few seconds and audible instructions will walk you through the pairing process. I did fine the app to have a bit of lag. Every time I opened the app it comes up with the pairing screen and takes a few seconds to realize that the headphones are active and then will proceed to show earbud charge, case charge, equalizer, and active noise cancelling (ANC) settings. There are 5 manual sliders for the equalizer settings or there are 6 presets to include bass boost, treble boost, energize, and speech. The control buttons are light to the touch so you aren't pressing the headphone deeper in your ear, there is a slight mechanical click, so its easy to know if you have pressed them enough to activate and how many times. The buttons are standard play / pause / skip / ANC / assistant and can be reconfigured via the app. Sound quality is strong, I can actually tell a difference between equalizer settings and enjoyed hearing the depth these headphones offered. Calls are crisp and there is no issue with background noise. I liked that the ear piece would pause when I removed it, and resume play when I inserted back in my ear. The same functionality works if using just one earbud independently of the other. There are a two things that set these earbuds apart, the noise reduction and the ability to stay put. First, its critical you find the right sized ear gels that seat the ear buds properly in your ear and get a good seal. The next step is to set the ANC for the environment, which I found the ANC settings to be a bit cumbersome. First you must be immersed in a noisy environment, not just a single sound source, otherwise its difficult to find the the setting that works effectively. Then you fiddle with sliders to find the ANC mode that is most effective, and can balance the setting to be higher on one side or even between the two ear pieces. Once I found the correct setting, I can do farm work, with the old diesel tractor revved up, and not hear the tractor over the music. As far as comfort, these were an 8/10, for me to get noise cancelling and no movement, I felt that I had to press these firmly into my ear. The trade off is that once I got them in place, they stayed there, through a half day of tractor vibration, jumping on and off the tractor, and bending / pushing / pulling logs out of the way. The battery lasted through a half a day of work and was not below 50%. Overall I really like these headphones. I think they are outstanding for use as outdoor work / sports headphones that provide good sound quality while staying in place.

Arrived quickly and even for a tech-challenged person like me, it didn’t take long to set up. I like that I can still hear a tiny bit of the outside world (for safety reasons) but the extremes in loud noise are now mostly dialed down. It’s really handy at the gym if you want to hear your music, podcast, whatever, but not every crash of weights. Very lightweight too.

    An improvement over previous models

These are great and offer superior comfort. I can wear these for hours without discomfort. I will say that unlike some of their past models, I wasn’t thrilled or excited about taking these out of the packaging. The retail packaging these came in felt rather basic with paperboard layering's inside of the box, good for the environment but not a great presentation. Out of the box, these feel good with a fair weight to the buds in the case. I’m not particularly a fan of the egg-shaped pod cases as those tend to roll around in my pockets. But these come with rounded corners and a flat top and bottom of the case. They feel more sturdy and sit in the same position in my pocket including on my desk as they will not spin countless times if I nudge them a bit. Opening up the case reveals a pair of buds that sit firmly to the base. Flipping over the case while open does not let them fall out. The best part IMO, they have a suede-like feel along the outside of the buds and all across the inside of the case. I’m not entirely sure if this material is what helps them stay in place but this material isn’t coated along the inside of the bud, or the side that would rest along your skin or ear canal. The inside is lined with your standard plastic-like material that every other earbud usually consists of. Setting them up through the Jabra Sound+ app is almost automatic, if not enabled the app asks to turn on Bluetooth, but other than that there’s really no other user input. After it pairs the app takes you through an optional customization setup. Several of the options include configuring ANC, hear-through, a fit test, and a custom sound profile. ANC was by far the most customization from past models. I typically seem to recall 3 levels of ANC adjustment with other Jabra and competing brand earbuds while these offer sliders. The fit test and sound profiles were an interesting take however. They remind me of a visit to the doctor when they exam your hearing by ringing different tones of beeps and ask you which side was it on. Music packs a punch with these. Whether you’re listening to rock, rap, jazz, country or classical, these hit all the tones for those genres. Pair them off with 30+ hours of battery life, although to be honest I haven’t been able to confirm the marketing claims but don’t doubt them based on what I’ve seen so far. On top of everything, they’ve got Qi wireless and fast charge to keep your music going. My 1 and only complaint, after I paired these with a second phone, I couldn’t seem to get them to pair automatically with my first phone. The only way to get them to pair was by manually pressing the button on both buds and search my Bluetooth settings. In any case, these were still great earbuds.

So far so good. Battery life longer than expected. Still learning how to use them, receiving phone calls doesn’t alert you as to who is calling. The 65t that I had did that. Maybe it’s there just need to find it.

    Frustrating initial experience

It saddens me to write this review as I was a big fan of the Elite 3. I’m not sure how hard it is for a company to recreate a product but with bigger and better features, but Jabra didn’t accomplish it with these. You know how your kids are excited to open a new game console Christmas morning only to find out there are 2 to 3 hours of software updates that have to be done before they can even play their first game? Well, that’s how I felt on initial opening and setting up of these earbuds. Except that not only was there some annoying firmware/language updates that starting running right away on first connect, but said updates repeatedly didn’t work, would freeze, would present blank diaglog screens, etc. Preventing these types of things from happening should be job #1 for someone at Jabra, but apparently no one was assigned this job. As you can surmise, it took me multiple attempts to finally get these buds updated with the correct firmware and/or language, during which time Jabra warns to not try and use them. Additionally, the left bud just wouldn’t connect for maybe the first hour or two of this process. Okay, beyond this initial experience, what about the hardware itself? Well, that seems to be a fail too. In addition to the left earbud refusing to connect, these feel uncomfortable to me. Where the Elite 3 fit my ears well and comfortably, the Active 7 plugs my ear and feel like it builds up pressure. I’m not sure if it has to do with the ANC and, if so, if there wasn’t some kind of pressure relief mechanism built into the buds for some reason. Next, let’s address the ANC itself. To my ears, it’s non-existent. How do I tell? Well, you have the option to turn ANC on, turn all features off or turn on a transparency type mode. I can hear absolutely no difference between ANC on and off. Yes, transparency mode seems to work well, but ANC, not so much. Lastly, I’ll address the case. It’s nice that Jabra included wireless charging as well as USB-C charging. It’s not nice, however, that the USB-C charging port is on the FRONT of the case, below a status LED. This design choice is incomprehensible to me. Most people have a charging cable come up from behind their desk or from the side. So, what that means in practice with the case here is that you have to either awkwardly pull your cable from behind your desk and wrap it around to the front of the case to plug it in so that you can see the status LED or, alternatively, you have to turn the case around so it’s facing the back of your desk in which case you can’t see the status LED at all. Why Jabra?? And, depending on what type of USB-C cable you have and how big/thick the terminal end is, it could potentially completely cover up the status LED either partially or completely which would make all my complaints about the location of the charging port moot, but not in a good way.

Hello pinkoos- Thank you for writing a review of the Jabra Elite 7 Active. The trouble you are describing with the Left Earbud and while updating your firmware is not expected. We regret to read that you are also experiencing some challenges with the Active Noise Cancellation feature. You must set up and personalize Active Noise Cancellation in the Jabra Sound+ before you can activate it from your headset. We recommend personalizing your ANC in a noisy environment. If these challenges continue, please contact the Jabra Support Team: https://bit.ly/3CYqAAY. Your feedback regarding the placement of the USB-C port is appreciated. We will certainly pass this detailed review along to the Product Development Team. Thanks again. Jabra

My last pair of Jabras lasted five years before the right earbud volume would lower until it was zero while using it. Figured it was time for a new pair. I wanted water resistant. Within two months the right bud started doing the same volume issue as the previous pair and tech support was helpful but the issue wasn’t resolved. A few weeks later I was in Hawaii on vacation and the left bud sound started filling with static and became useless. So within four months they are both useless.

    ANC, Fit Needs Improvement

They seemed to be nice enough headphones and i wanted to love them but i just could not get over some of the deficiencies. The major issues i had was the ANC didn't do a good enough job blocking out the ambient noise. It was an improvement when turned on but not enough to consider it impactful. The other issue was the fit, after a few hours of use i experienced ear fatigue. The earphone, not the part that goes in the canal, but the body starts to hurt. I tried adjusting the fit or switching the size earbuds and it does not help. The battery life and the charging case are fine, they pretty much do as advertised. Battery life is accurate and the charging headphones case are pretty standard. If they were cheaper then my expectations would be more in line with their performance.

Hello veritech13- Thank you for writing a review of the newly released Jabra Elite 7 Active. We are sorry to read that you are unsatisfied with the Active Noise Cancellation feature and fit. Are you connecting with an iPhone by chance? If yes, we recommend following the guidelines below to turn off your iPhones noise cancellation:
      1. From a Home screen, navigate: Settings > Accessibility.
      2. If unavailable, swipe left to access the App Library.
      3. unavailable, navigate: Settings > General > Accessibility.
      4. Tap Audio/Visual then tap the Phone Noise Cancellation switch to turn on.
If you do not have an iPhone or if you continue having trouble, we kindly suggest contacting the Jabra Support Team:
https://bit.ly/3DbMOjb. Regarding the fit, we suggest mixing and matching the included accessories. We also recommend trying the MyFit feature in the Jabra Sound+ app. MyFit checks the fit of each earbud to determine if a slight reposition or a different EarGel size can improve the fit. It is nice that though you are experiencing some challenges, you are enjoying the battery life and charging case. We will pass your feedback along to the appropriate team. Thanks again for sharing. We appreciate it! Jabra

Sound is great, the features such as "listen through" and "noise cancelling" work quite well. They are slightly uncomfortable for smaller ears as the plastic frame presses against you when pushed in properly. Overall a good purchase and definitely competitive against airpods.

Jabra Active 7’s low speaking volume

I have been using the Jabra Active 7’s for about 1 month now and the biggest complaint I have is that when I am on the phone the other party complains that they can barely hear me whether I have one or both earbuds in.I updated the software today to the latest version and still complaints that people can barely hear me. I then switch to the Apple AirPod Pro 2’ or the Sony Link S and people hear me fine. When I spoke to Jabra they told me to update the language and that will in essence update the Jabra’s.Done that and no change.I wish Jabra would update the speaking volume so others can hear me.

The good, the bad, and the ugly.

First, I've owned several similar products over the years, and bought these specifically to upgrade form Jabra 75T Elite Active. The Good--Option to use 1 earbud at a time is a major upgrade from the 75T. Sound quality is great. No complaints. They don't stick out as far, which means I can sleep on my side with an earbud in without hurting my ears. Yay! The Bad--case is a bit harder to open than the 75T. I liked the shape of the old case better. This one is downright difficult to open without using both hands. Also, the hinge feels a bit flimsy, probably because it takes extra force to open it. The Ugly--I can easily pair with both my iphone and my Garmin Fenix 6X. However, when I leave the house, about the time I lose bluetooth connectivity to my phone (which I don't take on runs), the reception to my watch becomes intermittent. Sometimes only in 1 bud, sometimes in both. Sometimes it comes back right away, sometimes it takes great deal of fiddling, and occasionally doesn't come back at all without putting back in the case. Very frustrating. No idea if this is a firmware issue or hardware issue. It's also possible its specific to Garmin. No idea. I've not tested beyond my own use case. Conclusion: I've not made a final decision about returning them or not. I DO like them, and I tend to find the flaws in every tech I ever buy, and tend to just live with it instead of looking for perfection. But... forewarned is forearmed, etc.

Jabra Elete 7 Active Everything you've come to expect from Jabra products and more. Favorite feature: Ability to enable the left or right earbud, independently. In the past, I could only use the left earbud when accompanied by the right; Which was inconvenient sometimes, but no longer remains as such. I would definitely purchase this product again for my own use or as a gift for someone else.
