This is an excellent juicer.

I have been using this juicer for 2 years and would not buy another type or model. Like all good equipment, it does what it is intended to do when used properly. I juice carrots, apples, beets and beet greens, kale, collard greens, ginger, celery, cucumbers, pumpkin cubes, and summer squash...my preferences. I usually make a 1/2 gallon each morning for my wife and myself. Some procedures will make it easier to use.
1. Be aware that juicy fruits, ie. citrus, melons, mangos do produce a mushy pulp that will tend to clog the fine filter screen. You have to be careful by checking the screen often to make sure that the pulp is not clogging the screen and the drain opening.
2. When juicing vegetables that have very dry pulp, it tends to make fluffy pulp that will fill the pulp container. You need to check it to make sure that there is room in the container. I use my fist to push it down or else it will build up in the top.
3. I have a blade key but never use it. Installing the blade snug is adequate and it functions perfectly. When removing it for cleaning I stop the filter with my right hand by putting a little pressure on it and because it is "keyed" to the motor, the blade can easily be removed by applying a little downward pressure and unscrewing it.
4. The stainless steel filter cleans very easily using the palm side of your fingers under running water or using a kitchen brush. The filter is very thin stainless steel. It is imperative that it is handled carefully so as to not damage it causing creases or dents in the filter screen. If it gets damaged, it will cause imbalanced pulp ejection from the screen. When this happens, the screen frame will rub against the top as it spins and cause more damage....You just have to be careful. Replacement screens are easy to obtain and cost about $10 when needed.
5. My previous Jack LaLanne juicer had plastic parts that did not hold up in the top rack of my dishwasher...they deformed and had to be replaced. It is no big deal to wash them by hand and let them air dry.
6. As has been stated by others, I line my pulp bin with 2 plastic shopping bags. Because I juice so much at a time, it is easier to pull out the first full bag, tie the top and continue filling the second bag. Using bags keeps the bin very clean.
7. Do not wait longer than 15 to 20 minutes to clean the juicer parts after juicing. As the pulp dries out, it will make it a lot more difficult to clean the screen and parts. (This is true for any juicer.)
8. Just to clarify, this is a centrifugal juicer, not a juice press. It will leave some juice in the pulp. I have used a muslin cloth and hand wrung the pulp after juicing 1/2 gallon juice (a lot more than the average usage) and was able to recover 8 more ounces of juice, but it is a lot of work. Because my wife was ill, I was juicing 3 apples, 4 pounds of carrots, 1 cucumber, 1 large beet with greens, 1/2 head of celery, a large slab of cabbage, and squash. For 16 ounces of juice the amount of juice in the pulp would be about 2 ounces. I considered purchasing a Norwalk juicer and press like my Dad used to have but that was more than $2500.00 at today's price. I am very happy with the Jack LaLanne juicer.
9. The advertisements say that the pulp can be used for soups and baking. I found this to be false. It did not work at all for soup or baking because it was too dry. There is also very little nutritional value left in the pulp...it is all in the juice. My best use for it is to spread it in my garden as mulch.
10. Finally, you should notice that in the demo videos, the juice collection cup is relatively short. There is about 4 1/4 inches under the spout. I use a 2 cup plastic measuring pitcher to collect the juice and it works great.
For the price, this juicer is unbeatable (in my opinion). I have had many different types and models of juicers over the last 30 years and this is the best.

i've had simple juicers that were tedious and a pain to clean. life is so much better with a power juicer. i was torn between this and the breville, but i am glad that i got this one. i noticed some people complain that it requires cutting of the fruit and that cleaning is a hassle. i do cut apples in half, but big deal? and maybe it's because i usually juice oranges, apples and carrots, but i haven't run in to any issues. it takes a little longer than blending smoothies, but it's worth it!

Got this at Costco over a year ago and discovered upon opening that the key to remove the basket for cleaning was not included. Company was very snippy and ugly about this face. Then I ordered the part and they sent me a totally useless set of add-ons, which was also expensive. Then finally they sent the key which is easy to lose. Very disappointed in everything in connection with this juicer and I've had several other juicers over a period of 50 years. This was horrible.

I'm so excited I finally got this power juicer. I've been wanting one forever! This product does exactly what it says...and the juice is wonderful tasting. It does make a lot of pulp when you juice, which I just throw away since I don't cook. But if you do cook, it would be excellent for muffins, bread, etc-depending on what veggies or fruits you juice with. I love this thing. Cleaning up is kind of a pain, but worth it. Just don't expect to make some juice and be out the door in less than 20 minutes. Upside to cleaning--it comes apart easily and washes out with minimal scrubbing.

The stainless model is easy to clean up, just in the sink under the sprayer. Tlhe only issue that I have had is the drain hole for the juice is small and some soft apples tend to clog it with foam. Overall I have been pleased with the product.

The juicer works great but I think they should remove the word smoothy from the description because you can't make one with this juicer. You have to use a blender. I love how easy it is to clean up and it fits perfect on the countertop.

Want Juice? Buy a blender instead.

Makes good juice. The shoot can accommodate most sizes of fruit, however you will find yourself cutting some in half so that it can fit. Mine also is making a funny noise after after about 6 months of use. This product is also messy, you may find yourself picking up little pieces of fruit off of the kitchen floor.
The major drawl back is that this product takes 10-15 minutes to clean and MUST be cleaned after every single use. You will need the extra energy gained from juicing to clean this product, because you have to disassemble the product before cleaning it ( the lower half of the juicer is not water proof) .
You may also find yourself not wanting to juice because of the ridiculous clean up process. You pretty much have to be Jack Lalanne to be motivated enough to use this juicer.
My brother bought a blender that is more versatile (can make smoothies) and takes WAY less time to clean. The blender was also 100$ cheaper than my juicer. My brother also owns a juicer, and says he has same results with his cheap blender. Don't waste your time, get a nice blender instead.

My daughter has one and started on the juice diet. It sounded good to me and my birthday was coming up, so I asked for this juicer. I really like adding different things to make my morning juice of fruits. Haven't really gotten to a lot of the vegetables yet. It is really easy to use and I do have to clean it after I have made my concoction of juices. If not the fruit flies get bad, so I wrap up the pulp in the plastic bag and throw it away. We do not have a compost pile, but are working on getting one started.
