First off I am not a Tom Cruise fan! So I did not see this movie in the theaters. I had quite a few people tell me how good the movies was, but since I really do not like Tom, I just never saw it. One day at Best Buy I saw it and bought it on a whim. I had it for about 3 weeks before I actually watched it...but once I did watch it, I completely liked it! If you are a fan of action movies, this is a great movie! If you love Tom Cruise you will love this movie and even if you don't (much like me) you will still love this movie!

this is the better of the two movies for sure. the second movie is still good and i enjoyed it, but i watched this one and bought the second without knowing anything about it and was a little disappointed. but that means this one is really good i guess. that said, if you want to know more about the character or the story, watch both films. but the first one, (this one) is really good. its action packed and good writing but also some deeper plot points and intense moments. Tom Cruise is Tom Cruise. but hes good at that so it works.

Tom Cruise IS Jack Reacher! The 4K steel book is here and it's well done. Artwork inside and out. There was a Blu-ray edition steel book previously released but it was different in colors, etc. We get the nicely done 4K, Blu-ray also and Digital copy. This is one of Tom's best characters and I hope he does a part 3 in the future.

Been a minute since I’ve seen this movie and I loved it. TC prices he is one of the best action stars and shows no signs of slowing down at all! 4k transfer is amazing and so is the sound. The steelbook wasn’t damaged but it is cute but could’ve been don’t better in my opinion. Over all great action film!

I know, it’s Tom Cruise. This movie fell under the radar when it came out. It’s got a good story, gets in and gets out. I prefer this over the sequel. It’s a great watch and keeps you entertained. The steelbook is nice though lacking as I feel they could have put in a little more effort into the design.

Does the title sound like the nickname of something you don’t want to be caught doing when you were a pre-teen? Yes. Is this movie underrated and SICK!? oh yeah. Pick up this disc and enjoy the Dolby Vision beams that open your eyes to colors and contrast you’ve only heard about in the back alley ways. It’s Tom Cruise y’all. I mean, it’s STILL Tom Cruise. He won’t go away.

Picked it up on a Black Friday deal. Saw it a while back and recently just Jack Reacher 2, so I decided to go back and rewatch it. Good not great.

I really like this movie. I went into it thinking it would be just another Tom Cruise movie. I would pair this with a JOHN WICK. Both movies were action packed. Now that JACK REACHER 2 is out, comparing the two , JR2 was what I would call just another Tom Cruise movie. They made a big deal about TC doing all his own driving. My thought was so what the movie was good - don't try and make it another TC movie by hyping him up vs hyping the movie up.

While he does not match the match the physique of the novel's character which is around 6'2" and 250 pounds, he comes pretty close to his intensity.

Jack Reacher is a very fun action flick with some great action and mystery moments. Unfortunately, this steelbook is pretty underwhelming. The art is not that different from the usual cover, and the back is all text. If you can get a good deal on it, though, not a bad choice.

In an innocent heartland city, five are shot dead by an expert sniper. The police quickly identify and arrest the culprit, and build a slam-dunk case. But instead of confessing, the accused man writes the words, "Get Jack Reacher." Reacher himself sees the news report and turns up in the city. The defense is immensely relieved, but Reacher has come to bury the guy. Shocked at the accused's request, Reacher sets out to confirm for himself the absolute certainty of the man's guilt, but comes up with more than he bargained for.

I have read the Lee Child book series upon which this is based, and this did a decent job channeling the original work. I still find the idea of Tom Cruise playing a character who is almost his exact opposite physically to be dubious, put aside from needed to stretch the suspension of disbelief a little more than usual, he does OK. I do think that the writers, having started from a chronologically later book, might paint themselves into a corner in future sequels.

Yes, I am dating myself. There once was an avenging action hero in the movies that had a "death wish" and wasn't pushed around! In this case, Tom Cruise makes a credible attempt at portraying Bronson as a stranger coming into town to set things right. I have to admit, I went in with not expecting much and really enjoyed this movie! Tom was great, the plot was interesting, and actually kept your interest. Well worth a couple hours of your time!

Great action filled movie. Tom Cruise never fails to deliver. The movie in 4K is awesome which makes it even more appealing. This movie is worth adding to my 4K movie collection, I just wish that it came in a steel book version.

Having read all of Lee Child's Jack Reacher books I was at first a little dismayed at the casting of Tom Cruise in the title role. He doesn't fit the author's description of the character at all. But I needn't have worried. Cruise manages to make the part all his own and the result is an action-packed, thrilling and believable movie that I recommend without reservation. I'm looking forward to buying the sequel.

This movie plays to Tom's strengths meaning it stays away from very much dialogue and focuses on Action. In the spirit of John Wick, Taken, etc... Reacher is the lone warrior who (almost) single-handedly takes out all the bad guys. Very entertaining for the action parts but the story line itself is also quite creative and the ending is satisfying. Not too graphic or offensive but entertaining as far as Hollywood violence goes.

This is one of the movies I have watched several times this year. It is a suprise movie that launched in Christmas. This was actually a March movie moved up to December because World War Z was delayed. I am actually a Jack Reacher novel fan besides Tom Cruise height the movie was amazingly done. Great pacing, great action, the movie does not feel long and you are entertained. That is what matters most, am I entertained by this movie? Answer is Yes

Good movie, but Tom Cruz was a poor choice for the book character Jack Reacher. He's nothing like the book character. I've read every book in the series and never once imagined Cruz in that rule. Was really ticked that he was cast in that role. Bah-humbug to "creative license." It's like casting a minnow to play the role of the shark in "Jaws." Aside from those complaints, it is a good movie if you can be more objective than I am, or if you haven't read the Jack Reacher series of books.

This movie is definitely better story line than the second. We are introduced to Jack Reacher while following a great story which had me guessing of overall ending. Would recommend as a great movie that not only has action but also a great story which flows greatly throughout the entire movie. At end it leaves you wanting more from this character but unfortunately failed to deliver on the second movie (Jack Reacher - Never Go Back).

I read reviews and talked to people that said this was a good movie before purchasing it. I had not seen any of the Jack Reacher movies but my wife and I both thought this one was very good. It was definitely a good purchase and is a movie that I will watch again. We have since watched the second Jack Reacher movie and while it was entertaining, we did not think it was as good as this one.
