I enjoy the Jack Reacher series of books and the few short stories. The movie is a typical action flick starring Action Guy (i.e. Tom Cruise). After the Mission Impossible franchise, Cruise, is well established as one of Tinsel Towns "goto" stars for action movies. This movie itself lacked the depth and nuance of the first Jack Reacher. While there is opportunity for Reacher to define himself--add nuance to the character, the focus is on action. For all that, still a decent escapist, action movie.

I know that many people feel Tom Cruise does not fit the physical description of Jack Reacher as described in the books, but let's be honest, he nails the role in his own way, and there are few action stars who could perform a role as well as he does, and he embodies the spirit of Reacher to perfection. A man out to help those in need, Reacher has found the challenge in this chapter, with great support from Cobie Smulders from "How I Met Your Mother"/"The Avengers" along for the ride. A great ride it is, too!

When Tom Cruise took on the challenge of bringing Jack Reacher to the screen I was surprised. But the first film was very well done. This second effort is equal to the task and it takes the time to explore the heart of the man who looks at life in terms of right and wrong and invokes his idea of justice on those he finds in the wrong regardless the cost. The cast is excellent, Edward Zwick has crafted a wonderful script and the production is well done in all areas. I highly recommend this second foray into the world of Jack Reacher and I hope there is another.

This is a good product and film. You receive a Blu-Ray DVD and a regular DVD along with a digital download. The Blu-Ray DVD and digital download have high quality images but the dvd looks like it is only standard definition plus the colors are not as crisp. This was a good movie maybe as good as the first Jack Reacher film if not better. The best part of the deal was that it was only $10.00! Why would anyone rent this film on demand for $6:00 when for an extra $4:00 you can buy it at best buy?

I think that "Jack Reacher: Never Go Back" was an exciting, creative and original sequel to "Jack Reacher" and was also one of the greatest action films of all-time and one of my favorite films of all-time. I'm a fan of all of the "Jack Reacher" novels and I also think that this film had a lot of entertaining and enjoyable action, mystery, suspense and drama including a really great and amazing cast and personal storylines as well. I'm also really excited to find out which "Jack Reacher" novel is used for their next film.

Nothing too complex about this movie. If you enjoy Cruise running, jumping, fighting and outsmarting the baddies you will enjoy it. If you think all his movies look alike, this will only support that opinion. Cobie Smulders is a likeable, athletic partner in pursuit of the truth. The cliché young girl who may or may not be his daughter is a boiler plate plot device meant to increase the tension. All in all a couple mindless hours of action and fun.

Having read the book several times, I was interested in how some of the action would translate in the film. Very well I have to say. O.K,, some stuff had to be changed in the interest in the interest of the flow of the story. The mystery the two main characters have to solve keeps the action moving along quickly. Who is the powerful person or persons that make their journey so difficult? The answers are revealed in a satisfying and rewarding manner.

This is a two part review. First the movie: Some feel this being not as good as the first one. I think it's due to raised expectations as a result of how well the first one turned out. It's still a solid story and I hope they'll keeping making more. There are at least two more books I'd like to see in movie form. Second the blu-ray: Awesome price with discount. Includes Blu Ray, DVD and Ultraviolet Digital, you can't go wrong with this purchase.

Tom Cruise may not have the intimidating physical stature of the Jack Reacher that is contained within the pages of Lee Child's books, but he portrays the heart and essence of the character with appropriate zeal. The character translates well to the screen and the action is non-stop. Cobie Smulders is fashion model gorgeous, but that doesn't stop her from holding her own when the fists and bullets start flying. I was thoroughly entertained.

An entertaining good guy bad guy movie with a simple plot. The action scenes are okay. Tom Cruise is no martial artist so expect brawls and not Kung Fu. Cobie Smulder needed his character to help her but her character is no damsel in distress either. The action scenes in the movie are not nail biting but one would not expect it from this move. A good story ending. Jack Reacher's story does not end with this movie.

This is one of those, all too few, Successful Sequels! Not 'just another paycheck' obligatory 2 movie deals. Bringing over, from another hit franchise, a female lead, that is no stranger to action/adventure, and keeping America safe & honorable was unexpected and really cool !! JACK REACHER - Never Go Back, belongs in the library next to the first one! It did not disappoint.

I was a big fan of the first Jack Reacher film, so I was hoping for that same intense, subtle passive aggressive threats in the second film. I felt this movie was a let down from the first. Tom Cruise does a great job with what he has and what is being directed of him. But the story line is okay, but just does not bring strength or mystery in why the bad guys are doing what they are doing. The first one was intriguing about the cover up and the set ups. Never Go Back lacked that hatred for the bad guys and you could not relate to the female heroine and the struggles that she was going thru. When the characters don't feel genuine and the spark is lacking between the characters it just doesn't come across the screen. Then there is the other side storyline about the young girl who hates the world and could or could not be related to the main character. You never really feel development of this side story between Reacher and the young girl. It has the feel good ending and probably the correct ending, but it was a more of a so what moment. I gave it 3 stars because it is watchable but don't look for anything other than an action movie with lack of relatable characters and a mediocre story line.

Always wary of a second installment to what is becoming a franchise for Jack Reacher, I was pleasantly surprised. Knowing full well that this wouldn't be a continuation of the story from the original Jack Reacher film, it didn't disappoint. No, it didn't have the salty little remarks from "Jack", but did have some, well what I call zingers. Which, I won't reveal to spoil anyone who has not seen this film yet. I enjoyed it so much, I watched it again immediately.

This is actually 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 stars for the purpose of the visual product rating. While not as good as the first Jack Reacher movie, it does well as a sequel to it. Cruise has the presence of Reacher to make up for his smaller stature. Smolders takes a step away from her "How I Met Your Mother" persona and, as expected, does an excellent job in the action genre as seen in the Avengers movies.

I am a big Jack Reacher fan, having read all of Lee Child's novels, sometimes twice or more. As good as the movie is, I still have a hard time getting past Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher. The character is supposed to be a 6 foot 5 inch, 245 pound ex-military police officer, not a midget that has to stand on a box so he is the same size as his female co-stars and has to jump up to hit one of his foes in the face. It is patently ludicrous. But it was a great movie.

This 2nd installment in the Jack Reacher franchise is proof that sequels aren't always worse than the original! While it did have a couple of minutes that were a little slow, it was mostly action with a good storyline IMHO. Even though he is in his 50's, Tom Cruise hasn't slowed down and still runs flat out! He can still pull off the action hero perfectly! Can't wait to see if there will be any more Jack Reachers. Hubby and I are sold and will be there!!

Jack agreed to have a friendly meet with Major Susan Turner and check on a development that involves him personally. Jack does not meet Major Turner due to her being charged for treason. His involvement in helping her makes them targets along with another, possibly from his past, as a powerful secret organization within the government tries to eliminate the three as Jack investigates what is happening and why.

If you are looking for Action Entertainment, something that you can enjoy with out to much thought. Just an easy to follow, easy to watch movie you will enjoy this one. The Actors and Actresses, all do a great job in their roles. I don't like all of Tom Cruise's movies but this one along with the first I own and like. Again it is a great movie, but don't expect the "WoW" in this one and you will enjoy it.

I truly love Lee Childs books . I have read every one of them. The screen writers for this particular book did a masterful job of adapting it to a movie without damaging the storyline very much. You even forget the Jack Reacher character in the books is 6'4", 245 lbs and absolutely 0 body fat . Tom Cruise is definitely not that . You might say that he is Reacher's mini-me but his acting portrays the attitude Reacher possesses.
