This is truly an Oscar-worthy performance by Ms. Natalie Portman as Mrs. Jacqueline Kennedy. It is impossible to take your eyes off of her. While I was in my early teens when these events transpired, I have no true recollection of any contemporary interviews with Mrs. Kennedy. I cannot say to what extent Ms. Portman attempted to channel Mrs. Kennedy. I'm unfamiliar with any personal accounts of what Mrs. Kennedy actually went through but if this is an imagined or fictionalized version of that, it is a vivid portrayal of her emotional journey from the shock and anguish to her fierce determination to ensure the legacy of John Kennedy and to leave us wondering what might have been had her Camelot endured.

For those who lived through the "Jackie" era, the DVD " Jackie" brings back memories of the JFK/JACKIE Camelot era (or what later came to be referred to as the "Camelot Myth") as it focuses on Jackie Kennedy before, during, and following the 1963 assassination of JFK (with emphasis on the period after JFK's assassination).The DVD can provide a younger generation of viewers a glimpse of the massive media attention Jackie attracted before and after her reign as First Lady. Natalie Portman is excellent and highly believable in the starring role and received a well deserved Oscar nomination. She makes you believe that she is indeed "Jackie".

Natalie Portman as Jackie is quite good. The voice is good not exact but close to what Jackie Kennedy sounded like. The film was a minor disappointment but I did enjoy it. I don't know what I was expecting. The film was different than what I thought it would be. It also makes her seem like a very nasty person. .But right after her husband's brains are all over her and she wants him remembered as GREAT, I guess she had good reason. I would reccommend this just on Portmans performance.

Natalie Portman captures Jackie Kennedy like no one else before her. We all know the tragic story but new light shed on some parts of Jackie's life and her struggles to get through that horrible weekend, keep her sanity, comfort her small children, lead a nation and the world in mourning with grace and dignity the likes of which we have not seen before, find a new home to live and rebuild a new life for herself and her children. We will never see anyone like her again.

I think that "Jackie" was a very inspiring and amazing film and was also one of the greatest films of all-time and was one of my favorite films of all-time. Natalie Portman's role in this film was amazing. Jacqueline Kennedy was one of this country's bravest and heroic First Ladies that had to deal with and recover from a personal tragedy that affected the entire world and also be a mother to her children. I also think that this film had a lot of entertaining and enjoyable drama including a really great cast and personal storylines as well.

I started to watch this not knowing exactly can how they would approach the life of Jackie Kennedy. The story revolves around the days immediately after the JFK assassination from her appoint of view. Natalie Portman truly deserved her Oscar nod for her start, emotional performance of a woman thrust into a national nightmare. A truly beautiful, moving and vibrant portrait of an American icon

The acting in this movie leaves a lot to be desired. The story line is difficult to stay engaged to.

Jackie is set during and after the assassination of John F. Kennedy, and is a moving powerful story about Jackie Kennedy dealing with the loss of both her husband and the fact that she is no longer called the First Lady of the President of the United States. Natalie Portman's performance is both mesmerizing and heartbreaking at the same time. She also gets cadence of the voice and all the nuances and characteristics that best describes Jackie Kennedy.

I have not ever seen a movie about JFK & Jackie filmed from Jackie's perspective. It was superb! Acting and actors were realistic. Obviously the storyline is based on true historical events and very dramatic. In this event we all knew the horrible outcome but it was well presented all the way through the feature film. This movie is part of my collection because it is so good.
