Blu-ray For a Good Movie

This is a good value for a movie that I have wanted to get on Blu-ray. There aren't too many features or anything super unique in this release, but simply having the feature film is enough. Also, it comes with a digital copy, which adds some value.

This is the one to watch, not the remake. This movie may be considered a slow burn to others, but the movie really takes you through many crazy paths.

Psycological Horror at its best

Jacobs Ladder is a great movie if you don't have a short attention span. It's made its way into the hearts of more cult movie watchers. It is the single biggest influence on such videogame titles as Silent Hill and the famous head wobble that so many self named psycological horror movies of today use as a startle/weirding effect. My only complaints are the extras really don't include anything I haven't seen before in the dvd version I already have. the director in these extras is extremely slf congradulatory and feels that everything he does is epic. you can't do much for quality on a movie that hasn't been shot in high def, so why waste space and not give us any more extras? I just happen to be a collector who loves to upgrade; you may want to pass on the blueray if you already own the dvd.

A dark supernatural thriller that will chill you..

Jacob's Ladder is a multifaceted movie dealing with at least two different themes. The first being the dark toll the Vietnam war took on its soldiers and the second is something that needs to be watched as giving it away would ruin the movie. Jacob is our protagonist who returns from the Vietnam war not feeling correct. Running parallel to this is a subplot about the loss of his son. As Jacob slowly begins to hallucinate, reality suddenly isn't what it seems. Only his chiropractor, Louis, is able to help him understand what is happening. The movie would be inspiration for several different titles including the movie Stay and the video game series, Silent Hill. As far as the DVD goes, it's passable, but a bit expensive for a stripped down basic version. A version does exist with deleted scenes which are interesting and seem to change the story some, but this DVD is as basic as you can get.

Adrian Lyne's film is simply a must see. A masterpiece of storytelling, tense pacing, and shocking visuals. Being of a younger generation, I come in with the unique perspective of seeing this film after having already experiencing the stories that it has inspired. Coming back all this time later to see the source is interesting, and rather eye opening. As an avid gamer, let me just say this: if you are a fan of the Silent Hill games, you MUST see this movie, as it is the main source of inspiration for the Silent Hill series.

This an amazing psychological thriller, one of my wife and I's favorites! This is a very twisted movie that has to be watched more than once to fully understand and appreciate it. If you've never seen it, this is a must own movie! It'll have you on the edge of your seat right up to the last frame. I highly recommend it! Also, another similar film I highly recommend is Angel Heart, with Mickey Rourke and Robert De Niro.

I watched it over and ovetr, picking up many things that I had not seen before. This movie is very entrancing and also can be very confusing if you do not pay attention. Looks a bit grainy for HD, but this is such a phenomenal film. I don't want to spoil anything, but you'll want to rematch this one.
