DVD in excellent shape, as is accompanying literature. Was not rattling about in DVD package. As for the content of the documentary, with its great title: Janis was indeed a little girl blue as would be anyone who particularly feels the pressure from stifling conformity and pettiness, but unlike us millions had the inclination and talent to sing it. Also, if you especially believe in the primacy of the blues, say, preferring the Stones over the Beatles, you'll love this documentary.

Don't you know nobody can love you the way I do Take the pain and heartache too. There is a lot stuff here all of us Janice fans and biographers already know. But some more great details about the bands and her home life and even a few TV show bits not seen in a long time if ever. If you don't cry while watching this, well, maybe you'll understand why some of us do. Thank you Amy Berg for putting this together, Thanks Best Buy for getting me a copy so soon.

There have been quite a few documentaries made all the all too brief career and life of Janis Joplin. This one is one of the best.The men in charge have found some pivotal figures from her life that have not been interviewed before. The footage of Janis herself has been used by others,but so little of her on film exists ,so that can be forgiven. This one is worth getting.

Janis was, is, & always will be my favorite singer. For those who enjoy her music, I recommend this DVD. It takes you back into a wonderful world of emotions, living life her way, and expressions of love and many times pain, in her songs.

A great documentary on the life and music of Janis Joplin

Good biography, a little sad at times. Would have liked more performance footage.

Great movie, especially if you enjoy and appreciate the music of Janis Joplin and like to see a different time in music. Good whether you were around to enjoy that time or as a sort of history class
